It is my second Sunday at Rose Cottage and I can safely say I love it best.
I didn't think we got up too early but, perhaps, Mum and Lily did. I didn't wake them but I heard Mum say, "Might as well get up -- Molly must need to go outside" and she lifted me up and carried me to the deck door, holding me until Lily could get by to go down the stairs into the darkness.
I decided, on Wednesday, to do the song and dance my sisters and brother used to do up north. Daddy said I sang…

We lost our awesome corgi Clive to seizures in Feb. 2010. I have posted a few pictures of our new rescue Charlie. We had a difficult time thinking about another dog and it has taken me this long to update my page. Charlie is a sweet little guy who is happy all the time and very smart. We love him but still miss our first Corgi very much!

Evidently, Gas-x (Simethicone) is the first-aid medicine to have on hand in case of bloat.
"
Always keep a product with
simethicone
on hand (e.g., Mylanta Gas (not regular Mylanta), Gas-X, etc.) in case your
dog has gas. If you can reduce or slow the gas, you've probably bought
yourself a little more time to get to a vet if your dog is bloating." -… Continue

We made our way to the herding instinct test early, early this morning. The test was sponsored by the local PWC club, so the most amazing part for me was seeing 40 corgis together! Everybody had a great time cheering on everyone else's dogs, and the dogs had a great time meeting each other and hanging out. Everyone was so friendly and supportive, and all of the dogs were really well behaved. And Tegan passed! The judge said she was easily distracted, but thought that might be because she is…

So my mother likes to send Orion and Laika a fun new toy every month (so spoiled!) and this month's toy came in today :) Orion and Laika got the Kyjen Egg Babies Platypus and they LOVE it! Its a platypus that's got a hole in its belly and holds three "eggs" that have squeakers in them. So you let them play with the eggs and squeak them, and then let them watch you put them in its belly so they can try to get them out. The hole is small enough that it takes some time to pull the egg out and it…

I look at all the posts on this site, and all the Corgi events (the Florida picnic expects 200 corgis!), and I wonder if other breed owners are as devoted.
I'm sure there are sites devoted to other breeds, but have no idea how many and to what breeds.
Your thoughts?

10 months, 2 weeks and 5 days ago we traveled a little over 2 hours after work to meet the sweetiest little litter of corgi puppies and fell in love instantly with our amazing little girl, and then days before Christmas my Christmas present came home. Then 3 months, 1 week and 3 days ago i got an email informing us that Adoras brother was in need of a new home, a forever home, 3 days later he was home with us. Now in 9 days they turn 1, We started training the corgi's to have free range while…

I am not always a Victoria Stillwell fan but happened to have it on today and she said something so true I had to repeat it. "Your dog is fat because you overfeed it" So simple but hard to hear since our corgis are so good at playing the starving puppy!

What a day! I was up at the crack of dawn (I think, because it was still dark in the room) but Daddy, Mum and Lily didn't get up for hours! I could hear Mum letting Lily outside even though she whispering and then I heard the food bags rustle. I started calling out "I'm here! Come get me! I'm so hungry!" but, still, she didn't come. So I stacked up my toys in the corner of the bin. Then, I gathered all my might and lept at the top of the bin. It took…

Do dogs EVER stop barking at doorbells on the tv or knocking? Do they ever figure out the difference?

Lily on the Sofa 2 10.14.10.JPGIsn't it always the way? For some reason, one corgi is never enough!
When I came to Rose Cottage there was old Megan who was about my age now when I arrived. There was also Rudy, a different breed altogether, and only a few years older. She had had a hard life and was always so grateful for her new home. Megan was stand-offish (as a corgi should be) so Rudy took…

I had a bit of trouble tonight. Mum & Daddy went away for a little while (it seemed like forever) and I had to stay in my bin. I slept for a little while but I could hear (and when I stood up I could see) Lily lying beside the bin. I tried to get her to help me escape but she just looked at me; smiling all the while. I must admit I was a little mad at them when they came home -- even though Mum made me the best dinner right away. First I pottied by the back door even though I'd also been…

This my 7th day at my new home, Rose Cottage. It's different than being with my family in northern Minnesota and I miss snoozing with Mum & my sisters and brother but Linda Mum and Doug Daddy are my wonderful new parents and now I have Lily as a sister though she is usually cross with me when I try to get her to play. Linda Mum tells her, quite often that, someday, we will be best friends -- perhaps when I am a little older and learn my p-s and q-s.
I had never been in a…

Whoo-hoo, celebration!
I have mentioned that Jack is awful, awful, AWFUL about having his feet handled. I have worked and worked and within the past six months or so have finally gotten to the point that I can play with his feet if he is lying down relaxed. (He's over three, and it does not help that this is the farthest thing from a cuddly dog. I know they say to play with their feet when they are in your lap, but he comes in my lap maybe once a week and there is no way I am going…

On October 19th, my darlin' Doris Daylily will turn 2. I've never celebrated a dog's birthday before, and we probably won't go to any great lengths this year. Probably. Maybe. We might not go to great lengths. It's hard to say, because I've never had a dog to which I felt such a strong bond before. Sure, she doesn't know it's her birthday, but she does know who her pack is. Doris is very attuned to our state of well-being. So she might know we're happy she was born if I give her some extra…

Saturday night Dawn and I decided to get up early on Sunday and drive to Key West. From her mom's house in Miami it was only a 3 hour drive. After parking at Mallory Square we walked the length of Duval Street with Soffie & Griffyn. They were a show stopper all along the walk. And they are the subject of many photos of those who stopped us several times over to pet them and ask about them!! It was a fun day! : )…

I woke up a couple times last night to a cuddly corgi and was inspired to write this post. Baxter was never a cuddly puppy and only recently has he started seeking out pets and cuddles. However at night he will cuddle right up next to me. He usually sleeps against my legs and rests his head on my foot or knee. Last night he walked right up to me and threw his back against my chest and continued sleeping. It was really adorable because as soon as he laid against me, he went right back to…

Hi Fellow Corgi fans,
A couple weeks ago, Seamus sounded like he had a hairball. He coughed intermittently for a few days. Our terrific vet gave me free phone advice, saying it should pass, and is likely an allergy of some kind. We do have crazy mushrooms growing in the front yard as the seasons change.
Anyone else had this experience? Any remedies?
Anne (aka Seamus's mom)
