Well JP is 17 weeks and has completed all her shots including rabies. She weighs 14lbs and is a total joy! We just cant wait until this chewing stage is over. :) I found some local agility classes and I think we are going to give them a try. She has our petsitter so fooled at her noon visit. Thank goodnees the Petsitter is my Aunt! My husband and son have decided that officially she is my dog while our other dog Kami (a terrier mix) is theirs! HAHA!! They just dont realize they are BOTH…

We have noticed Bucher being lethargic for about a week, but when he stopped begging or wanting his breakfast I really got scared! We took him to the vet yesterday and he had a 104 fever. They did a blood test for lyme disease and it showed negative. After we stood and talked with the vet for a while; he looked at the test over again and a positive came up for Anaplasma Phagocytophilum. It is from a deer tick and mimics the signs of lymes. He is on… Continue

For the past few months now, Odie has taken interest in cars, motorcycles, other dogs, etc. while we are on our walks (he gets 2 walks per day). It has gotten to the point where we have to drive him somewhere, where we know there will be no cars driving by and no other distractions... because he barks LOUDLY and pulls HARD on his leash. I have a harness that I use, for my own peace of mind, to pull him out of harms way... I have tried just about everything I have read about... but there is…

Hey!
Lily is going to be spayed tomorrow....poor baby !
I'm worried about her running around and opening the stitches, she loves to play with Jimmy, our Basset Hound. As you know basset are short but heavy....
I know...her crate will be the best place to keep her in, but will she feel comfortable in there using the "cone" ?Should I keep it in her during the night?

I've been taking the dogs to Red Bud Isle dog park and it's my new favorite place to go with them! Its a very small island that's been made into an off-leash dog park and the dogs absolutely LOVE it!
There's a grassy area in the middle and a big trail around the outside but most of it is lots of trees that the dogs like to explore in. Today it had just rained so…

I know there was a group for this but even though I joined there has not been any activity in a year. Are any of you members in the Hudson Valley, Dutchess County or Ulster, Orange County NY? Sure would be nice for Pearl to have some playmates!

So we've spent nearly 700 dollars on the vet so far and we're both near the end of our ropes in terms of knowing what we're supposed to do with our puppy. Apollo just isn't getting any better. We've had to completely give up on potty training and drop out out of puppy classes all together now because of this problem. We took him in for another vet visit today and now the vet thinks instead of a simple bladder infection he has urinary calculi but apparently now instead of the crystals being…

Lily is eating bunnies poop !!!
I don't know how to handle with this , because she use the grass as her "bathroom" . I've tried to make her use the patio area , cause there I can see the "bunnie's poop" and keep her away from it.
It's the fourth time that she is under medication for diarrhea .Any suggestions?

My favorite time of the year, FALL!! All the fun holidays are quickly approaching :) The costumes for the kids are all picked out. My little boy is going to be a Dragon... partly because it was such a cute costume & partly because that's his nickname- Dragon! He tends to sound like a Dragon when he's congested... ANYWHO... since he's going to be a Dragon, I felt it fit for my little girl, Lola, to be a Princess (she already thinks she is anyway!). So instead of spending a bunch of $$$ on a…

I haven't updated in a while but I just couldn't stop giggling at this one.
Took Roxi to figure out what exactly she was allergic to (finally) and a REALLY expensive trip later, learning she's allergic to pretty much the world + cotton! I had the funniest drunk acting dog stumbling to the car.
A few weeks ago I had the same thing from Charlie after getting his teeth cleaned + fatty lump removed.
I can't help but find it so hilarious when they leave like that. Cute…

I am really close to taking baloo's manhood away if it will stop him from being such a brat!! He chews up everything that he can reach even though he has all the rawhides and dog toys he needs, he jumps a barks like mad when a visitor comes and i'm afraid he's going to knock someone over like a kid or an elderly person. I don't know what to do.

Last year, I put together a corgi calendar featuring corgis that have blogs. 100% of the profits went to the
Lakeshore Corgi Rescue! It was a great success, so of course I held the contest again this year!
The 2011 calendar is now available to purchase at these locations:
Cafepress
$19.99

My Fin, age one and a half, has started this furious ritual in the morning of biting and licking his feet like crazy. He goes to his bed and just cleans and licks his little pink toes until they are shiny : )..... is this a habit ? could something be missing from his diet? I just ordered some salmon oil and he is already on a great vitamin supplement.... any ideas in Corgi land ??
PS he usually only does this in the morning after he wakes up

Whiskey is a Corgi / English Bulldog mix, my husband taught him how to ride our sons skateboard, and now the skateboard belongs to him, he loves it!! Whiskey, is a VERY smart, and active dog, he has been so easy to potty train and teach, I love him so much!!!

Fortunately, a Welsh corgi counts as 2 dogs on a Two-Dog Night because it fits inside your sleeping bag. Ordinarily, I like to sleep with the dogs for companionship and the peaceful vibes that emanate from a snoozing animal. This time, it was for something more primal: body heat. Dummy here brought a goose down sleeping bag on a 9-day backpacking trip in normal…

We will be adding to the our little Herd.. Lizzie is going to have a little brother ! He was born on August 26, a red headed tri-colored corgi, and is from Celestial Star Kennel.. his mom is Scarlet and dad Kobe. Not sure what his name will be yet.. we have a list a mile long to pick from so far maybe Barney, Harry, Oliver, or Tucker? Each picture shows a little more of his personality.. so hopefully one day soon we will look at him and say he looks like a ......... ??? More info to…

Sage had a wonderful time and loved everyone especially the children plus all but 2 dogs! She was a real trooper hanging in there for over 6 hours! We met another MyCorgi member and wouldn't have known it but I told them about the site and found out they were members....that was great! Sage was one pooped pup when we got to the car!

I've noticed certain Sonics are very dog friendly! Some keep treats on hand to give to your pup. In Austin I live pretty close to one so I'll go during happy hour pretty often to get a half-priced Diet Cherry Limeade (yum!) and I'll take the dogs with me. Everyone always freaks out about how cute they are and runs inside to get dog treats for them (which usually end up falling into the cracks between the seats before they're completely eaten but oh well). The Sonics I've been to in San Antonio,…

Odie sleeps in bed with poppa and I... and all night long he constantly moves from one spot to another. I feel a little bad for him, because, if he's moving around this much, does it mean he's not comfortable? He has a blanket on our bed, but no pillows or dog bed... do all Corgis sleep this restlessly? Should I find something to put in bed, that will make him more comfortable??
