I have been wanting to start feeding my dogs a raw diet a couple times a week! This am I let my dogs out as usual and Wiley and Wynn decided to sneak through the fence and pursue their own raw diet! Poor bunny! They were very proud of their prey but there wasn't much left and I'm not looking forward to the after effects either! Oh well they sure enjoyed the fresh meat! I will give them their heartworm pill tomorrow! I'm sure Bella was bummed as she is my rabbit dog and watches them out my…

Hi, My puppy Rocky is 4 months old & my vet keeps saying that 6months is a good time to neuter him. We are not sure if we want to have him neutered. We have had one female & one male corgi that have been spayed & neutered and one male that was not. The female we did not want to have puppies so we chose to have her spayed. The male that was neutered had only one testicle so vet said it was a potential health issue later on. The other male was not neutered & he lived a long…

Showing off her topline in the snow.
With Bramble, who is convinced that he's the one who did this. They pretty much ignored each other except to play until she was in heat, and since then he just follows her around and spoons her whenever she lies down. Poor guy has NO idea that he's…

So this morning we had to take our bunnie, a miniature Rex, to the Emergency Veterinarian who is a Bunny Specialist since Sniffles eye was bulging out of her head. His diagnosis was from Tooth Root problems which caused an abscess behind her left eye. We could have done surgery to remove the eye but with the costs of the medications, the multiple surgeries and there being no guarantee that she would pull through it left our only other option, to send her to Heaven far too early.
I am…

Wonderful solstice weekend. Neighborhood party, ran around the lake, walked dogs to coffee shop and all around the neighborhood, called Mom and best friends, bought some brandy, bathed both dogs, and sat around drinking brandy & egg nog, combing the dogs while listening to Patrick Stewart's masterful narration of "A Christmas Carol" [highly recommended]. Whole family: me, Lori, kid home from college, both corgis, and the cat, probably even the…

There's about a foot of snow out there, possibly more and Bella's loving every inch of it. Granted she has a difficult time trying to stay above the snow (she's learned to walk on top of our footsteps now to keep her head above), but loves it nonetheless. She even tries catching our snowballs in the snowball fights. It's too bad that I don't have a camera anymore to capture the memories, but there's no way this memory will be forgotten soon. :D

I'm so excited I can barely stand it. This is my first litter in four years and I have a LOT of shopping to do!
Clue is Ch. Pecan Valley A Blue Clue, but she's more often known as my best buddy and the leader of the dog household. We bred her via chilled semen (flown in from Arkansas) to a gorgeous black boy named Ch. Pecan Valley Draco. Draco's kids are not only lovely - his daughter won the 2008 Nationals Sweepstakes (a puppy competition held in conjunction with the CWCCA National…

Today we walked two blocks! Nutmeg is amazing on the leash. It took some time, but she got it faster than Cinnamon has. I thought that Cinny would mimick Nutty, but noooo! Cinny has fought the leash big time! I tried the same tact with Cinny that I did with Nutty....harness to get used to it. A trainer told me that I had to get Nutty on the "choke" collar, and I was in tears the first time. It did work. I thought Cinny would just follow us, and didn't want to do it, but I had reached my end…

A lot of times when Goldy wants to play and Bear doesn't, she'll lay on the floor next to him, often on her back or side, rolling back and forth. Is this something that can be traced back to packs of dogs? Everytime she does it, I watch her - she's so calm and subdued, not sleeping, just lying there next to him and watching him.
Do your dogs do it? Does it tend to be the younger dog or the more submissive one? Do you know why they do it?…

It has been 3 weeks since I have had my puppy. It has been a crazy time. He is extremely playful, has adapted well, and is good with other dogs. He loves to steal other dogs' toys and hoard them in a corner. One ear is still down and I keep wondering if it will be up soon or not.
I only have one complaint, and that is his horrible snoring. It is loud enough to keep me up at night.

I just got back from the vet with Alice and the news is not good.
The egg-sized lump near her hip is cancer. It seems to be growing into her abdominal wall, and that combined with her age make surgery a less-than-promising option. The vet said the cancer is very aggressive; the cells were dividing like crazy under the microscope.
She drained a large amount of bloody fluid off the site. My sweet princess was an absolute angel and did not put up a fuss. She gave her a shot…

I am at my parents house for the holidays. They have a 3 yr old Pomeranian who feels confined to the top of the couch. My 3 month old corgi just wants to play, and he plays with other dogs really well.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get a toy lap breed to play with a corgi pup? LOL do Pomeranian's even play with others? She has only really lived in the house, not well socialized like my boy Odin.
I just feel bad that she is stuck on the top of the couch in HER…

I know this has nothing to do with Corgis, but we do have some cat owners here.
I have a vet appointment this afternoon and I am very worried.
My elderly (16+ year old) cat seems to have sprouted a large growth overnight. One day it was not there and the next day it was huge. It's the size of two golf balls or so and it's directly in front of her hip when she is standing. When she lays down her hip slides forward and the mass seems to go behind her hip.
When I…
