I often think after Bear and Goldy get a drink that perhaps a Saint Bernard has snuck into my kitchen.
Both of them stick their whole nose in the bowl, drink and then with a half-full mouth of water pull their heads away from the bowl and dribble water a good foot away from the bowl!
I thought it was just Bear originally, but either all Corgis are sloppy drinkers or Bear taught Goldy his bad habit.
Sincerely,
Steph with Soggy Feet

My friend is living in a duplex and her roommate just moved out. I would save over $275 a month just by moving in with her. She does have 2 cats who have never lived with a dog before, but Callie loves cats. Her cats do have herpies... does anyone know if feline herpies can spread to dogs? I don't think they do...
Callie would have a little extra room to run around inside, and I'd be moving closer to a lake and a dog park. I guess my biggest concern is getting the cat's used to Callie. We…

Hello all,
Our puppies Nellie and Howie are generally good with each other, but NOT when it comes to meal time. Both gobble down food (we recently purchased those big silver balls to put in their dishes and slow them down), and when they finish they begin to growl at each other. This used to happen only when one puppy finished first and went for the other's food. Now it can happen even if both bowls have been picked up. They have no aggression towards us. We pick up their food 1 to 3…

A thought of regret passes through my mind, retail picks up this time of year, my work makes it so that I'm hardly home, and yet... I love my dog sooooo much, but I hardly have time to entertain him. Mind you I make the time to play with him for a few hours every night, but at the same time, he's got to be in his crate the rest of the time. This is why I got him the big crate, so he could be comfortable in it, but now, I think of it more as a prison, thinking I'll make it up to him later. I…

Boy, it seems on each of our hikes lately we've encountered another creature! This weekend we did a 5-mile hike at an area called Daley Ranch here in San Diego. It's a huge complex of trails through some pretty oak groves and chaparral.
About 2 miles in, I spotted an animal ahead of us on the trail, just trotting along. The view at this area was a long flat meadow, so we could see…

I don't know why but Romeo has been farting alot lately near me. He doesn't make any sounds but HE def FARTED. IT SMELLS AWFUL!! He doesn't even look at me when he did it. He acts like nothing happened, but once in a while he farts and leaves the room. Is Romeo the only dog who acts like this?

Many of you know that Lyla had to make a trip to the animal hospital last night. I did hear from the daycare/boarding facility owner today and found out that yes, Lyla got fed yesterday... twice! I'm thinking that even just two meals though, they must have fed her A LOT for her to be as big as she was. The owner was very apologetic, and I said I understood how things can happen, and I had forgotten to mention that neither of my dogs get anything other than food I bring (I never said this when I…

Does anyone have information on corgi's as service dogs? Gwenie went to the vet Friday we were told she had to lose 3 lbs. The vet then suggested we make her a service dog for me. I have very bad RA and she helps me. She picks up keys. I hope she learns more. Well any help on this would be nice. Thank you. Oh before I forget I love to see all the pictures of the corgis here. Make me feel good inside! Thank you..Kitty & Gwenie

Hey my dog Fynn is freaking out when I am cutting his nails. I need to know if there is anther way or should I take him to a vet or a groomer to cut his nails? I have worked with him since he was a puppy and now he doesn't like me to cut his nails. Please let me know what I should do?

I'm so excited! I've been wanting to get Jack into agility for awhile now. I was going back and forth between that and herding, but have been unable to find a herding instructor. So yesterday I e-mailed a local agility instructor. I had asked my vet for a referral to an agility trainer and was given her name, and she also happened to be our CGC/TDI evaluator.
It turns out she has a class that just started Thursday, so I only missed one. They use an indoor horse arena in the winter…

Hate to post every week, but here goes
I got the last picture of him from the breeder before I pick him up. I really am in love with his markings, he is going to be one handsome fellow once he is grown
I just have one question really, is 5-7 pounds the normal weight of a puppy that is about to come home? He will be eight weeks old when I pick him up Saturday…

OK, here it is! Every Where's Bear that I have posted I have thought was just too easy! This one, unless you live here or have seen the movie, might be a little tough. However, everything is there to guess Where's Bear.

Today I picked out my puppy, Jackson, from my breeder. Unfortunately I had to choose from breeder pictures and personality descriptions. But, how can you really go wrong?
I went with my original heart-stealer named Tobias by the breeder. He is a very handsome sable with an outgoing and inquisitive personality. As most puppies are concerned, I think a lot of his personality will have to do with how he is raised and I am very excited to do so!!!!
Here are some face shots of…

We met up with Stef, Bill, Tanner and Carmen at a park in Conyngham. It was the halfway point for us so neither of us would have to drive so far. We let the puppies play in a fenced tennis court so that way they could run around and be "free" and not have to get tangled on their leads. They had so much fun as did we. They played so much, 3 hours worth of playing. Of course, they took their water and snack breaks though. They didn't rest much when they did, Murphy tried to creep up on Carmen a…

Tomorrow is Bella's gradutation day, and so far she hasn't shown any signs of improvement since we left Petsmart last Saturday to today. I mean, she's doing pretty good with "Leave it", and surprisingly she'll come when called when I'm too far away in public. But suddenly she decides she won't sit for me, and she will not stay put for five seconds before pouncing on me for a treat. I have worked all week to get her ready for tomorrow, and she just doesn't seem to understand what I'm trying to…

It has always been my understanding that Corgi's were outgoing and generally brave dogs. I recently adopted 5 month old Charley, and am having some real trouble getting her to do anything outside of my bedroom where she sleeps and eats. I worry that she is too comfortable here, so I have been getting her aquanted with the rest of the house and my roommates two pitbulls. She loves the Pits, and they love her back, but it seems to me that everything else scares her to death. When we go outside…
