So our Zwei is turning 1 next month ... yay!!
However it feels like he hit those teen times kind of late. Lately he's been having accidental pees even though we take him out (at least 4+ times in the past week in his crate, on our bed AND on the floor), he's forgotten what some of our commands were even though we've used it daily and it's soooo frustrating. Before that he's was soo good on potty and everything.
I hope this passes by really quickly. That Nature's stuff is…

Do other Corgis lay on their backs and wave? What does this mean?
Jack does this all the time. I figured he's trying to grab something, like his toy or my hand, but sometimes, he just does it at random. Is this just a Corgi thing?

Penny had some kind of a reaction last night. I have no idea what caused it. We went to Petco...bought some toys/treats/food...came home and she had dinner and went outside. About an hour later her face started to swell up. I gave her Benadryl and watched her closely. She seems fine today, other than her eyes are weepy (they have been for a week or so on and off I figure all the pollen in the air right now). I'm not sure if I should…

For those in the Frederick, MD area I want to highly recommend Happy Hounds Lodge for boarding or daycare. I had a 10 day trip to the UK and was very stressed about how Monty would do away from me that long. I know that if he is distracted by other dogs he doesn't notice my absence as much so I wanted somewhere he was free to roam with other dogs as he is very socialized. He is also used to sleeping in my bed at night and I couldn't picture him in a crate/pen at night for that long. I found the…

Stella turned 6 months old today, so I thought I'd write an update on her. She is growing every day and probably weighs around 17-18 pounds already! She is halfway through her first round of obedience-puppy kindergarten- and doing really well. She picks everything up really fast! She's my first Corgi and I just can't believe how smart they are! There's an agility class coming up, and I hope I can start her in some basics. She has so much energy and is…

Well, we got him last Monday, first shots, wormed and all that jazz. He's been great except for some diarrhea. The first few days I wasn't concerned as diarrhea isn't uncommon with stress but he didn't shake it. Long story short he had a coccidia load and today was the first day of his treatment.
He hates the medication but other then that is awesome and you can actually see him perking back up. He's absolutely fearless and a born alpha, obedience has already started with him and man I can…

After a lot of research on doggy allergies and itchy dogs I came across an article about yeast infection in animals' systems (here if you are interested in reading: http://www.greatdanelady.com/articles/systemic_yeast_mini_course.htm). I went to the nzymes.com site and did some more research and even did a couple googles searches for reviews. I couldn't find much negative about the Nzymes product so I ordered the Anitoxidant treats the Bac-Plus (probiotics) and the Ox-E drops.
I got…

Izzie has been scratching herself constantly lately. I even try to give her half a Benadryl but that only seems to help her for maybe an hour and then she's back to scratching her neck or biting at her paws. My poor baby. She doesn't seem to be breaking skin or making herself bleed. The only thing I can think of is that I changed her food from the regular Blue Buffalo lamb and rice formula to the weight control formula a few weeks ago. It's the same brand of food though, so I am kind of at a…

I'm to old for any anti aging creams and in reality they aren't going to stop parts of me heading south before I'm there. This is a wonderful organization and they deserve every cent they get. Thanks

There's always these dogs and one of them is a Corgi. Usually I only see the 2 of them, but today I also saw a third dog with them roaming the neighborhood. This happens very often. There are never any people accompanying them and they're just out walking about, being curious little doggies. I would really hate to see something bad happen to them. People need to be more responsible. I know who the Corgi belongs to and I wouldn't be surprised if the other dogs belonged to them as well. These…

You know, things that puppies decide to chew are random in nature and are with out prejudice. They like to chew the love to chew; some things that they chew it is the reaction of "Hey" to the scale of "Oh My God Put That down". My dog, he loves to chew no matter the consequence of punishment that he gets I have guessed that he has decided that it is worth the chewing. But last night he crossed a very thin line chewing a pair of my girlfriends Joan and David shoes, her favorite shoes the shoes…

I got the email from the woman who did the design when we renovated our office. She has a Corgi and knows that I have the Corgi disease. “10 month Old Corgi needs a home” read the subject line…Okay I thought, I know a lot of Corgi people, surely someone would be interested in this darling little man. Success right away! A friend of my daughters and her fiancé said that they would love to take him and on top of that a MyCorgi member close by also indicated they would like to adopt. I picked up…

Lyla discovered something amazing yesterday... if she climbs up on to the arm of the sofa, and really coils her corgi springs tight, and times it just right, she can jump all the way from the couch to the loveseat (a good 2-3 feet at least). It's very impressive! I can almost see on her face the self-talk she must be doing inside her head as she psychs herself up to jump. "Okay, it's a really long way away, but I can do it. I've done it before. I'm scared. No I'm not! I'm a big girl. I can make…

I found this cute site that specializes in Corgi clothes. http://www.corgiclothes.com/
I have already found that KC's chesty shape makes it hard for some clothes to stay on.
The "Snooty Bitch" screenprint tshirt is my favorite! But I think $20 is a little more than I want to spend on doggy clothes right now. ;)
