It seems like just yesterday we were bringing home our little boy. The cutest, sweetest little guy imaginable.
I remember how worried were were about him in the beginning when he wouldn't use his hind legs and now he races around and maneuvers like a pro. It's hard to believe that sweet little puppy has turned into this crazy teenager we have now. I look at him and wonder where my little puppy went. But really, he's turning into a…

One day at the vet clinic I work at I noticed a bag of Science Diet had a corgi on it.
Which then made me wonder what other corgis I could find around the office. That quest lead me to:
Interceptor Ad
Veterinary Apparel Ad
Product catalog ads. There was…

Has anyone had any trouble with their corgi barking at them when they are leaving their home?
We have also had problems with her barking at us when we are about to take a shower. It has even gone as far as her ripping clothes off our body?
We don't know what to do. Help!

We usually go to West Orange Dog Park on Sunday mornings with our good buddy Vader and his mom Susan. Well on the way to the dog park this week, we stopped at Wal-Mart to drop off a friend, some how as my friend got out and Susan moved from the back seat to the front seat, Lizzie slipped her collar and ran out of the car and into Wal-Mart. It took a few seconds for me to realize that she was gone. Susan had given me both of the leashes to hold while she moved seats... so Vader still attached…

Fall is in the air, so yesterday we took at trek down to an apple farm down in southern Colorado. We went to get ourselves plenty of fresh apples, pumpkins, berries, apple cider, etc. It's a pick-it-yourself-farm, and there were lots of little kids out gathering whatever apples they could. But there was also one very happy corgi! She got to ride on the tractor, which sitting in the lap of one of a little girl who was just doting on her. Then she got to hop around the orchard, jump over the…

Harley is growing up so fast!! He is a little bit over 4 months old. When we brought him home at 11 weeks, he weighed 8 lbs, and he now almost 12 lbs. I wish I would have measured his length, but it's obvious he is getting longer. He can now jump through the doggy door without assistance. We are still having house breaking issues, but I know we can't expect him to be reliable this young. He has occasional accidents, and he is slowly learning that he needs to tell us when he wants to go…

So I have to fly to Maryland in 3 weeks and i just bought sophie a bag for the flight. shes a little small for it but if she lay's down its not to bad...My biggest problem is that she's never had to be in a crate. At night she gets locked in the kitchen. so I dont know how to go about breaking her to the crate thing so she wont whine the whole time. A couple ppl told me the vet will probably give her a little sedative so she's calm but i want to still break her to it so she will be quiet and…

Where i live in West Texas Corgi's are not very common. I worry everytime someone seems too intrested in Dragster.. I'm an over protective mommy lol. Anyway at our local wal-mart there is a sign saying " Please return a little girls best friend" and it has a baby corgi. This makes me very sad. I already freak out when i leave him in the car just to run in the post office!!!

I'd thought I share with you this corgi poem. It was given to my mothers grandfather back in early 70's, by the breeder,
when he got his Corgi, Napoleon
"Corgi Fantasy"
Would you know where Corgis come from?
How they came to live with mortals?
Hearken to the ancient legend,
Hearken to the story-teller
On the mountains of the Welsh land,
In its green and happy valleys
Lived the peasant folk of old times,
Lived our fathers and…

I've been thinking about some of my favorite things about Pixel - the things he does that I love so much. These include: 1) Corgi laps - Pixel loves to run and sometimes in the evening will start running around the living room in wide circles as fast as he can. He just goes and goes. He will do corgi laps in the backyard, too, running around so fast and so happily. Dax (like a good newf) stands in the middle of the circle and barks. 2) Grass and rug rolling. Pixel loves to scratch his back on…

My guess at what Yumi may have been thinking this morning ^^
*Stretches and opens her eyes* Hmm, I wonder what my humans are doing? *Looks around* Ah, I see Dad has gone again this morning, I wonder where he goes everyday? Oh well, I see that my littlest human is still here and sleeping and, oh! Mom's still here! Yay! I wonder when she'll wake up? Maybe if I... *Rolls over onto her tummy (she likes sleeping on her back) and inches forward a bit* Nope, no good, still sleeping. Ugh, I…

I mentioned our dear friend, Ziggy, who was the first corgi I every really got to know, and who I have the privilege of dog-sitting from time to time. Ziggy was the reason that my husband and I chose to get a corgi. What a marvelous breed. Of course, I had to sit Ziggy on the lawn chair to make him about the same height as Dax. Here they are at my house, enjoying some outside R and…

Although I agree that corgi's are smart dogs (maybe it's the herding thing) and well able to problem solve, it turns out that it's not the corgi in the family that's the smart one, but Dax, the Newfoundland. She's so smart it can be a problem, because if she wants something and has decided that she should have it, with her great size and strength she's almost impossible to stop. When we first got her, we put her in our kennel outside one afternoon to…

Bear and I went to see his breeder and check out the new puppies. They couldn't believe how beautiful Bear has become and LOVED that he was a redheaded tri. Bear was great with the babies, smelling them and then jumping back about 10 feet when they make a little squeak! I think he's going to be a great big brother!
Edit: I'm pretty sure one of the sables will be Bear's new little sister - the mom had 7 GIRLS! I like the one…
