Petie is very sick. He has not touched food without vomiting in 2 days. Because of his age ( 13 ) I am worried sick. He has been very stressed for 5 day because of his storm phobia. I took him to the vet yesterday. He wouldn't even drink water. He had x-rays, which were OK. He got anti-anxiety medication ( it's still storming ), and some lamb and rice canned food. He was disinterested in the food last night, but at some when I hand fed him. Sadly, he…

KC is still pretty new to us, but she hasn't been eating as much as I'd like her to.
For one thing, whenever I put her food bowl down after filling it, both of our cats run over to inspect & try to steal. I have to intervene and literally guard her bowl from them! I'll stand nearby for a minute or two shooing the little thieves away until they skulk to a safe distance. Last night I caught my boy Walker eating her food while KC sat pouting nearby. I scooped Walker up and took him to…

We're taking KC's spay stitches out tonight! Well, hopefully my husband will do it while I hold & soothe her. I get queasy with medical stuff. (Our vet said we can do it ourselves.) The stitches look great right now, so there shouldn't be any problems.
If her tummy still looks great this weekend, we're going to buy a life jacket and take her to the river! Should be fun! I've been looking around for doggy life jackets, and Walmart's are only $14.74 for her size. Petsmart's life jacket…

So I took Callie outside to go potty because it stopped raining for awhile. She was taking her time on going potty. As I am walking her around the apartment BBQ area she gets out of her collar (an art she learned last week) and bolts around the parking lot area. This is the 5th time she has gotten out of her collar and I have even made it tighter to try and stop it from happening. The first 4 times she was playing with another dog and was easy to catch. This time she wouldn't even come near me.…

My curiousity got the better of me.
Awhile ago people were talking about how if you shave your dog, the fur will never come back right again, or that it takes forever. I noticed when my dog got shaved for her sterilization, it took almost 3 months.
So I've been toying around in my mind about doing an experiment, and today against my better sense, I went through with it.
I took about an inch and a half long lock off of the fur between her shoulders, the bit that goes up when she's…

Oppy absolutely loves his soft toys, but he also loves to destroy them. We just bought him a toy duck from Petco and he's already ripped the foot off and the beak open. His longest lasting toy was actually a stuffed penguin from a local carnival that wasn't even a dog toy. But alas, he killed that too. Does anyone have any suggestions for some really tough plush toys that he won't be able to tear apart within the first couple of days?

We have a pear tree in the backyard. Chloe ate some pears that fell off the tree, and now she has a poopy butt. I think it is pears since everything else is fairly routine, but she hasn't had her cookies and goodies today.
My other Corgi used to run into the apricot tree to knock that fruit off.

I have been having an argument with my boyfriend about how often / how much to exercise Eddy. I feel like 45 minutes a day, in the form of a walk, is the
minimum. However, I try to aim for 1.5 hours, split into two. I like to take him to one of the many nearby parks to play and run every day. And if we both work, and are forced to leave Eddy home, completely alone, for awhile, like 3-6 hours, I will even take him to a park
twice on those days. I think it's only…

We went on our first weekend visiting trip since we got Nellie. Spent the night with friends who have a golden retriever and a lab mix. Nellie had a blast crawling all over the big dogs. It was her first time playing with dogs other than her sisters before we got her. She was a little freaked at first, but warmed up quickly. Also visited my parents and my mother in law. They have two cats each, and my sisters cat was also at my parents. Nellie did okay with the cats. At times she was trying to…

After a rough weekend, and 4 hours on the road Monday night to get Dooley, as he is now named, life is getting back to wonderful! He's an absolute joy of a fur ball -- and OMG! does he have the fur! It's everywhere, in my coffe cup, bed, car, on my clothes -- oh, well, it's been said that no outfit is complete without pet hair!
I've tried my best to get photos of his "stubby" legs, but he won't stand still long enough. He's just so happy to be someplace where there are others to play…

I've got Duncan!!!!!!!!! The Ford County Humane Society named him, I didn't. I'm thinking about calling him "Dooley," as he's got Pembroke face, head, and skeletal structure, but he also has Cardi "turkey toes" and body size -- a bit
large-boned, but light weight. He's adorable, sweet, loveable, friendly, inquisitive, playful, and everything anyone would want!
He slept all the way in the 2-hour car ride last night -- even snored! When I introduced him to my other Corgis, it…

I wanted thoughts or whay people did. I have been thinking should I put "Beware of Dog Sign, or Corgi on my gate. I have been hesitant about getting a Corgi doormat or beware of dog sign for two reasons.
1. People will know that I have a Corgi, and want to kid nap her
2. having a Beware of dog sign, is that a liability risk?

Hi all! It's been forever since I've been on here!! I've been super busy. I recently started a new job and my husband recently had his 3rd major back surgery in 2 years. Unfortunately 2 days after his surgery his disc ruptured again!! So we are preparing for him to have his back fused. He also has severe nerve damage so he also has to have a nerve stimulator implanted in his spinal cord to block all pain signals from going from his leg to his brain. Uuggghhh! So we have to move 200 miles to the…

I just adopted my Corgi from a wonderful rescue woman in Graham, TX on Saturday. I had to drive 4 hours there to pick KC up, but it was so worth it! The drive home was pleasant too. Once KC calmed down a bit, she snuggled into the passenger seat on her new blankie and enjoyed the ride. She has the sweetest disposition too. I've never met such a cuddly loving girl before! She hasn't barked, whined, or had a single accident yet either.
She's about 2 years old and could definitely use some…

Since previous posts have gotten great responses ... Young Abbigail met her collar today (actually second time but the first intro was a speed dating session with the brush and other "toys"
Today though my daughter want to prove how much she has learned on animal planet and has the tiny little collar loosely around the Abbineck.
Whining and diving into the walls to rub off the irritant are tough to want but I know we have to do this.
How long is the first encounter , should this…

Girl is growing up! That's a no-brainer but with that being said, she sure shows her personality and just how intelligent she is this way.
Update on her awful breath, its seemed to disappear almost within a day or two! It seemed to be the rawhides we had for her. We donated those and two bags of treats to the shelter so some sad puppies will get lots of affection through goodies. The ONLY time Maui will ever see a shelter!
Trick list update for Maui:
