HI Corgi People!
Advantage is sponsoring "Get to the Vet", a campaign to encourage us to take our dogs and cats in for preventative care. They will email you a certificate for the vet to fill out. Just submit it with your vet receipt and get $20 back!
Since they are only issuing 80 per hour, I suggest you pre-fill out the form and wait for the top of the hour to roll around. When it does, hit "submit". Good luck!…

So this actually has nothing to do with Juneaux, but I just have to blog what happened!
Well last night I was up pretty late, as usual. My son had already been in bed for a couple of hours, so I picked up a bit and sat down and got on mycorgi. I saw that Geri and Natalie were on, so I decided to chat. I was on maybe 20-30 minutes and I heard something hit the door. It didn't sound like a knock, but something had made a noise. My husband works late hours, so I was home alone:( When I…

I have always wanted a Pembroke Corgi after seeing Ein for the first time on the anime Cowboy Bebop. There's just something about there short little legs and fox like face! Plus, they're very smart dogs and are quiet active.
Of course, buying a pup can be expensive. Not to mention the whole puppy-phase is a bit time consuming and can be messy. So my parents decided not to go that route, but if there was every a Corgi up for adoption we would consider it.
One Saturday while…

I don't look for 5 minutes and he's covered in litter and eating his favorite treat (he doesn't even have to sit for it)!!
Then he's all wet from a bath. /sigh

Today was our first full day with the babys. Yesterday afternoon they had their 1st vet visit, just to check them out and make sure their all healthy, and of course they are. Jack weighs 4.11 pounds and Emma is 4.07 pounds. They started crying at 2 am last night and because we don't want them thinking if they cry we come, we didn''t go to them . But they both pee and pooped in their crates (i guess they had to go). Also we decided to feed them Nutro…

So Zwei had the chance to meet a beautiful maine coon today ... so fluffy and big! Anyways, he didn't have a normal reaction to the cat. I mean, at first, he went up and sniffed it and it ran away.
After it running away though, he was going after it by laying on the ground and jumping at it. My fiance said he was 'stalking' the cat! I looked it up online and apparently that wasn't a good sign?!
We don't really get many encounters with cats since I'm allergic, but I don't…

Normally, I'm pretty private, I guess. I don't share a lot of personal things, but this one hits near and dear to all dog owners, so I think I have to for once. Bear with me, if I sound like I'm rambling for a moment.
Gabriel, my German Shepherd and SAR dog, died yesterday morning. Everyone, including me is shocked - the vet staff was in tears, and my vet feels horrible, he's like, "I had no idea he was that ill, none. He went home last night looking better."
He started…

Today I took Bella for her puppy booster. She just has 1 more to go. They weighed her and she weighs 11 lbs.! I was so surprised since the last time she only weighed 6.4 lbs. My baby's getting bigger but she still looks small to me. She's such a joy, even though she likes to cause a ruckus around here. :) And she has gotten so pretty. Her coloring is so pretty to me. I've never seen a sable corgi before, but she has black markings in the prettiest places. She looks different almost every week.…

Ok, so Monster has the foulest smelling gas i've ever had to endure. Is this a corgi thing or a Monster thing? We feed him good, healthy food. I mean, one time it actually made me vomit. I know this is kind of a gross blog post but i don't hold much back. This is actually pretty modest. I am just curious... Do all corgis have horrible potent smelling farts?

So Juneaux is outside about 80% of the time, but we started to bring her in for the evening. We used to have her on Frontline, and when we first got her had even treated the yard with Adams Yard Spray. She was off of Frontline for maybe 2 months, and we noticed she was getting fleas, I'm guessing maybe because of the warm temps. down here, so I bought her K-9 Advantix, but she still has fleas!
I'm definitely not a fan of having fleas in the house, especially with a toddler and…

Today we got to pick up the two newest members to out family. They are so cute and just run around trying to avoid the camera lol. So only got one pic of Jack. The vet has already looked them over and both are very healthy. We got a childs gate for the kitchen , but it turns out they can just walk through the bars!!! so now we are brainstorming on how to keep them in.…

With all the loose hair floating around, making drifts and tribbles and gawd-what-a-mess, I never noticed this happening before. Fun way to really wake up, too. I was innocently blowing my nose, trying to read my e-mail, when I got something in my eye. A hasty trip to a lighted mirror showed a lovely black corgi undercoat hair trying to pretend to be capillaries.
At least something that big's fairly easy to get out....

So today is my first vet visit, in about 45 minutes, actually. I think Dexter is going to get a name change because he doesn't answer to his name at all. He does come to "Rocky" because it sounds like puppy, so I think I'm going to call him Rocky. It fits because he'll be named after my boyfriend while he's at war. Rockstar is his Army nickname, so I think Rocky is appropriate since he was a present to keep me company.
Here goes. Hope he likes needles!

Here's the dilemma. Mo and I want to bring another dog into our family. We've been doing our research and have been establishing contacts and all that stuff. However, I worry that Cam may not acclimate to another dog.
The confusing issue is that Cam came from a house with 7 other dogs, yet when she meets another dog on the street, she could care less. We already know that our new dog must have a calm demeanor, so puppies are out. We want an older dog. Part of the reason is that we…

Monster just had his one year check up. He has silly veins so the doctor had to dig around for them. He was a champ! He did sooo good getting his blood taken and getting his medicine injections. Everything was fine until about 2 hours ago and now he feels bad. :( He cries if you try to pick him up or touch his hips and he is so tired! He's been sleeping since we got home. He didn't even greet Chase when he came home for dinner or get up for a cookie, so we knew something was wrong. I hope he…
