I live alone, so you can probably understand why the shower curtain jumping at me would be a bit un-settling! I placed young Cheez-McQueen in his newly divider-free kennel earlier in the evening. Little did I know that the side-door to it was a bit unsecure. The shower curtain jumped at me, and I was soon met by a dog frantically yelping when it occured to him that showers are full of water. He jumped in through the curtain, got his feet wet a…

I ramble on, so I will keep this paragraph short. A good amount of you all have a kennel like
THIS, and most all of you have a corgi with feet like
THIS. Well if your kennel is like that and the divider wall (if one) is up, there may be a gap under the wall. We all know that Corgi's sometimes sleep/lay with their feet behind like in…

Oh retractable lead, you were supposed to be so amazing. I had dreams of regulating dog-to-master distance ratios on the fly in real time. You were supposed to be multi-purpose, allowing my pup the freedom of movement and the restriction of a short-lead in one sleek glossy package. You cost upwards of 50 dollars, but I thought you were worth it. I was never told that your cord is extremely tactile/textured, and that it sticks to the things your dog encircles. Your fanciful package never listed…

I was minding my own this evening, watching the rest of the "Planet Earth" series on Discovery (It is an awesome documentary, watch it asap), when I hear this noise that sounds vaguely like insects swarming. Only inside the house! So I jump up and pan the room for Cheez-it's happenings and he isnt around. I glance down and there he is at my feet in a play-induced coma. I followed the sound to the kitchen, there is a giant beetle making sweet love to the lightbulb. Sort of odd, it's the sort of…

I started back at work and was pleasantly suprised how well Cheez-it is handling the matter. He doesnt fuss when I leave and he is quiet when I come home. I leave him out all the time when I am home and even let him sleep outside the kennel now for his many puppy-naps. (which have decreased in frequency by 300% since 8wks). I try my best to wear him out before I leave and before he goes to bed, but he is "always" awake now. I imagine because he sleeps all day while I am gone. After the 5 hour…

While I cant tell you for sure if it's the food, the broth, or the de-tapeworming. What I can tell you is that right now in Cheez-burger land, Chicken-broth infused Blue Buffalo is a hot commodity. Which is a very big relief on my part, and it's great to see him eat a little more now. He was de-tapewormed on Saturday and I mixed him BlueBuff and his usual Eukenuba (1:3 ratio) for lunch and he ate the Blue Buffalo leaving all the Eukenuba in the bown still. For dinner I gave him the same rations…

As you may know, little Cheez-it had a case of worms two days ago. It was a bit of a shock at first, but then it occured to me that well, dogs get worms. So I considered getting an over the counter de-wormer, seeked advice on these forums (which was a great help, thanks everyone). I decided to wait it out and have the vet take care of the issue. After a few minutes (and some shots with pill-laced tuna) I placed him on the examination table and a worm appeared below him. I thought that was sort…

At the least time expected I came down with a dramatic case of "the work". You know the symptoms, pretend-coughing, lack of initiative, that bland Mon-Fri look in the face. I unknowingly answered a ringing phone (what else do you do with one) before checking the Caller-ID. I knew my mistake before even finishing "hello". There was some emergengy, so-and-so wouldnt be able to come in in time and things needed to be done! Somehow, unfortunately my name was at the top of a memo entitled…

Update:
Well some good news! (sort of)
Today, literally right after leaving the vets office for 2nd shots, he pooped in the grass and I spotted "Rice". I believe to be roundworms... The vet cant see him again until Saturday (a day and a half). Should I get some OTC dewormer? Or wait it out? I think this might be why he doesnt like to eat.
Original:
Well, the last 3 days we have been struggling with Cheez-its anorexia problem. (Not…

Before getting on with the explanation, Cheez-it has gone 3 days now with NO accidents!!
I have a horrible Craigslist addiction, I routinely hunt for furniture, cars, and always glance at the pets section. have no idea why, mabye the allure of getting something for nothing, but more often than not you get something for something. I am fairly good at appraising cars, I like to purchase specific Mitsubishis that I know alot about and repair and resell them. It helps pass the time I…

Dogs as I know them devour food, objects, and the occasional live animal. You can prevent the latter two, unless the third is something you prefer, but the first is a requirement, and not an area where my dog excels. When I took him home he had a little bag of Eukenuba puppy food, it had very small bites and he was quite intrested in eating it. The first day I simply left the bowl down so he could eat when he wanted and get familier with it's location. I got some Eukenuba puppy food, the same…

Foreword: Sorry for the post being so lengthy.
I am quite confidant that the little Cheez-butt (Cheez-it) knows when I expect him to fertalize. Outside I proclaim "Potty!!" and he starts circling his spot like an aircraft homing in on a target. Unfortunately he's one of those 1950's biplanes and this maneuver can take quite some time. When we play in the house I can tell when he needs to go, and take him out accordingly. However, when he is waking from a nap, which he always…
