You'll prob'bly remember that I talked about me an George Clooney in a pwevious posting, in which I analyzed how on earth a quiz could match the perfect 10 ME with a hooman who only has an Oscar to boast of. New to My Corgi

Hi,

I am an owner of two Pem Welsh Corgis. We've had Shorty and Fiona for about three years and they're great.

They're great and loving dogs but we've decided to take them to obedience training so they can better socialize and I learn from a professional.

Anyhow... great to be here and hope to learn and share from people's experiences.

Thanks,

Frank and Jinny

Arts & Crafts: Fabric Stores are fun

...and so are mothers. My husband and I stopped at the fabric store as I had some projects in mind. My mom then came over, bringing a sewing machine, my sister, & their dog, Capri. And this is what we made!

I bought some fleece type fabric of 2 sorts (one I have not used yet and will be for a future bed) and a large pillow form that was 50% off. I then decided I wanted 2 textures and got a faux fur sort of fabric, that matched Pooka's… Continue

bloody vomit

Freya vomited up yellow frothy mixed with blood last night. I'm hoping that the bloody is from the tooth she had just lost 5 minutes ago and vomited because of the blood going to her stomach.

She's not acting odd either way. Though when she works herself up for food or for anything she does have the tendency to vomit and I'm pretty sure that isn't normal.

She's eating Blue Buffalo puppy formula 1/2 cup 3 times a day. She acts like I don't feed her enough and I keep finding… Continue

Feeding Recommendations

I'm looking into switching Finnigan's food but I was unsure whether I should still be looking for a puppy food or an adult dog food. I talk to a couple different Cardi breeders besides the one we got Finnigan from and one in particular highly recommends not feeding your dog puppy food past the age of 6 months. Here is what she states:

"I do not advocate feeding Cardigans puppy food only beyond the age of four months. From 4-6 months, they should be fed a mix of puppy and adult… Continue

Royal Canine Dog Food

I was wondering which one is better for Corky, the Royal Canine " mini indoor puppy #27 " or "mini puppy #33" ???

Right now he's eating the "mini indoor puppy" but I think it might be backing him up, he doesn't poo as much as he did when he was on the "mini babydog #30".

I took him off of the "mini babydog" because he out grew it and the vet told me to upgrade to the puppy kind.

So if anyone out there feeds their sweet Corgis Royal Canine I would really appreciate if you would… Continue

Jasper's growing up!

I took Jasper for his second round of shots today and he weighs 8.5 lbs at 9 weeks! The vet said he is a little overweight but I read somewhere about a pound per week for a certain amount of time? I don't think I've been overfeeding him, keeping treats to a minimum and following the guidelines on the dog food for his weight. I think I'm just going to try harder to get him a bit more exercise since it has been rainy here lately. He was bigger than his brothers and sisters, but his mom and dad… Continue

Ok I am just bragging...........

I took my little Baxter to the vet today for his second set of puppy shots and he was such a good boy! I put his "going out" bandana on him and everyone there was commenting on how handsome he is. The vet came in and she said she was "very impressed" by the little guy! She was saying how he has such good markings, full whiskers, and great structure. She said it was very obvious he was a "well bred" Corgi. I was so proud of him! He is all the way up to 10lbs, he gained 5lbs in two weeks! It was… Continue

It's Just a Dog . . . it comes from Amanda's blog with permission . . I wanted to share it folks here as well. Skeezix.

It's Just a Dog

From time to time people tell me, "Lighten up, it's just a dog," or, "That's a lot of money for just a dog." They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent or the costs involved for "just a dog."

Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog."

Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog," but I did not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog," and,… Continue

Human Chew Toy!!

I don't know what to do, I can't get Corky to stop biting me and everything he can get into his little mouth. He bit his dad so hard last night it drew blood!!
Once he starts biting, which it seems thats all he wants to do, I just stop playing with him. I can tell it makes him frustrated but I don't know what else to do. He has tons of toys he could chew on, he doesn't need to use me as a chew toy.
I don't know what to do anymore, I need some advice = )

More Swollen Face Cataloging

Here's Pooka last night at around 1AM (she looks miserable cuz I just woke her up and she's REALLY drowsy). It has moved to the other side of her face.

I gave her another half of a Benadryl and put her in her crate for the night.

At around 4AM, I woke up to continue studying for my test. She looked about the same, and though I opened the crate, she stayed in there (even after I left for school at 8:45). BUT! by 6AM, when I checked on… Continue

my first haircut!

Hey All!

Tomorrow is Crooker's first haircut appt and I was wondering how other corgis have reacted to being groomed. Crooker despises bath time lol but usually he gives in and just sits there. However as for the style of haircut, how have you told the groomer to cut your corgi's coat? I don't think I want them to completely shave him (I think he'd look weird) so maybe just a trim?? Right now he is shedding up a storm (more so than usual) so I think a trim will do him some justice. Let me… Continue
