I found this special made by National Geographic about how the dog came to be what they are today. There is even a section on the Pembroke Welsh Corgi :D
Al claims the first failure on Glacier Peak's South Ridge by a Pembroke Welsh corgi without supplemental oxygen. We could have done it easily had we been willing to walk the glacier unroped -- as many do -- but Al doesn't do glaciers unroped. As he points out, "Nobody falls into a crevasse that they can see." So…Continue

Dear Corgi Nation,
Thank you so much for this BEAUTIFUL painting, Vanessa. This painting speaks to us in a very deep and meaningful way and brought tears to our eyes when we first saw it. We will treasure it and hang it in our corridor where it gets the most traffic in the entire house. Thank you Ellen for coordinating this. It was a pleasant surprise and we don't know what we've done to deserve such special gift. We are deeply touched. Thank you for the loving…Continue
We brought our pembroke home 10 days ago. He's 12 weeks old. I actually was hoping to get some insight from you all on our new pup. We have spoken to our breeder about this but I wanted to get your well informed take as well. His temperament test showed he was laid back, friendly, confident, very affectionate, and somewhat lazy. In the week we've had him, he's proving to be the almost the complete opposite of what the temperament test said he was (besides the lazy part, he is pretty lazy…Continue
Just a cute post to fuel everyone through the day! :) The images have probably long since made their rounds on the 'net, but I felt they were cute enough to repost (even if it's for the thousandth time!) Hope they give at least a few of you a chuckle and help to brighten your Wednesday. The weekend is coming!…Continue
I saw this on Twitter & thought I would share in case anyone could help!
My dog has the loudest bark ever for such a little dog. I've been able to tolerate it, but sometimes he gets in a barking fit where every little thing sets him off. It gets kind of annoying after a while, usually after the 15th time of me sternly telling him to stop, he gets it.
My main problem is going to be…Continue
First, he doesn't "hate" dogs, he's just scared of them. He's never lived in a home with a dog.
He hasn't been to my house yet - obviously.
Even when I tell him stories of how Bear lies nose to nose with me in the morning when I'm waking up, to speed up the process so he can get food of course - he tells me that I need to not let my dogs near my face. And how it's dangerous and that they could really bite me and do some damage.
I have never…Continue
vote for corgis!
we can't let the shiba inus win!
Yoshi wants a corgi squishable to sleep with at night! =)
Life gets rough for everyone and I am not excluded from that. However, most of the time I take things a little more roughly than other people might. I'm an easily excited person, both bad and good. When something bad happens sometimes it feels like the end of the world. I stress, no, I FEAR that something bad is going happen. A fear so strong that I used to hide in my home for days, afraid to leave the house. It used to be difficult to find a reason to get up out…Continue
I'm worried about my little guy. We came home from our walk and he started panting heavily. I didn't think anything of this at first since it makes sense he'd be overheated from walking. But then He kept following me around and I noticed he's trembling. I took him to the vet about 3 weeks ago to the day for ingesting xylitol. I had taken him to vet, induced vomiting soon after the incident, given him liver pills, and noticed no change in his behavior. The only thing out of the ordinary today…Continue
My (soon to be) 5 month old Pem, Dexter, is becoming more and more aggressive. I believe it is because of his teething, but I can't be sure. I know his teeth are really bothering him, they are falling out and growing in, and he sometimes bleeds. I feel terrible about his pain, but the way he has been acting is unacceptable. He has a Nylabone, Kong, etc. I freeze rags and give them to him, and he loves pieces of ice. I feel like I'm doing the right thing for his teeth, so could it be…Continue

So, last night my friends on facebook convinced me to make a tumblr page for Ein.
Granted, most of them haven't seen this page... because, well... they really wouldn't get it I don't think. I mean... it's a social network site for corgis and their people. Not really for their people's friends haha! But many people I know have tumblr.
So anyway, I started it up last night, and then at some point one of the pictures was reblogged on…Continue
Friends have been fostering "PUMPKIN", a 7 y/o sable/white spayed F Corgi since her sister and hubby were transferred to Okinawa. They found that they cannot move Pumpkin there and also face further deployments. The foster folks have had the Corgi for nearly a year and can't do this much longer. Colorado Corgi Rescue is very limited in its resources and facilities and can't accept any more dogs now. Further there seems to be a shortage of DEMAND for Corgis here in the Colorado Springs…Continue
