Corgi for free in DFW, TX area

I was browsing Craigslist looking for anything we could use at the new apartment, (couches, dog stuff, cat stuff) and came across this precious girl that was put up today. http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/pet/2647881660.html

I would love to take her but I don't think we could since we're about to get a puppy and it's an apartment. I also think the hubby wouldn't let me get two... :( I hope she find a good…

How to make a Party Dress for a Corgi

Hi fellow Corgi lovers :-)

I completely forgot my log in information for Charlies page and have been dying to post a whole bunch of new things!

The past week I've been working on a dress for my little love for her Birthday next month. She'll be turning 4... oh how fast time flies....

I haven't sewn anything in over a decade and when I purchased a new sewing machine I was eager to try it out and see what I could make. As finding outfits for Charlie…

To Keep Him a Stud or to Not Keep Him a Stud...

That is the question!

My male Corgi, at 8 months old, is already acting pretty stud-like. I eventually wanted to get a puppy out of him so I have one of his offspring. BUT he has a tendency to mark his territory... in the house too. And when around some female dogs he gets all giddy and excited. He listens well, and is such a love bug but...

Should I just go ahead and do myself a favor and get him neutered?

How Much Do You Feed a 6 Month Old Corgi?

Bartleby is getting bigger and longer, but sometimes I worry he is too "skinny". When he stretches out, I can see his ribs, and I'm worried that what I'm feeding him isn't adequate. I've been really focused on keeping him not obese and worried its a little too much in the other direction. I think he's going to probably be a pretty big corgi when full grown, based off his size now compared to adults I've seen and how big his dad was. How much did you feed or should you feed your corgi at 6… Continue

Birthday Blues...

Well...I thought I'd get a corgi this year...but another year goes by, I still have no place and am getting no corgi from my boyfriend this year. This birthday so far really sucks, I can't even see my boyfriend for my birthday. I got a nice necklace as a birthday/anniversary present....Its lovely but I still find myself depressed....22 on Tuesday, all alone.....time to look at corgi pictures.

Does Bartleby look pure corgi or mixed?

Bartleby is still a growing pup (over 5 months old now)and that's why he's so skinny, but I've received multiple comments from people asking what he's mixed with. Another corgi owner I ran into out with him today said his legs looked long for a corgi. I've noticed comparing Bartleby to other corgis that his… Continue

Summer with a Malamute

Every summer seems the same for me. A friend or family member is in need of help and I drop everything to try and make life easier for them.

During this time my husband and I decided to take in (yet another) foster dog. This time an Alaskan Malamute, and I would only be home on the weekends.

I can't tell you how proud I am of my husband right now. I had to beg him to adopt our first dog Roslyn, and he made me promise I would do everything for her. Now we have our second dog…

My Corgi won't take walks!

Hi everyone,

So, my corgi is 1 year old now and I live with my parents and while I'm at work my mom always gives my corgi walks in the morning.

But for the past month my mom says my dog refuses to go out for a walk with her! Like he just sits and my mom drags him, then my mom sighs and says okay lets go home, and then he gets up and walks back to the house.

But whenever I take him out for walks he WALKS!

I honestly would prefer my mom giving him…

Corgi went to beach: now throwing up and pooping out sand

My corgi and I went to the beach yesterday. I guess he ingested a lot more sand then I realized! So he started throwing up last night. I decided to not feed him and just give him water to hydrate. The next morning it was a mess full of throw up and poo (basically brown liquid and sand).

I might just see how he is for one more day and call the vet tomorrow. But I'm worried if it is more serious? Has this happened to anyone before?

I was planning to just hydrate him and not give…

The Perfect Chair.....for Goldy

A few years ago I had some insane back issues and one of the things my doctor recommended was a zero gravity chair.  I shopped around and found "The Perfect Chair" - I cringed at the price $1200 for a CHAIR?!?!?!  That's insane!!!

But of course, one more bad night and I ended up back at the "Healthy Back Store" buying the damn thing.

Goldy has since decided that the perfect chair is the perfect place to relax…

Corgi Portraits!

Hello everyone,

Here is a pencil portrait I did of my Bartleby. I'm taking commissions if anyone is interested in getting their corgi or another pet done. This one still needs to be cleaned up a little bit. I can do pencil, pen, watercolor, pastels, or digital painting. Let me know if you're…

Manhattan Corgis??

Hey! I just recently moved to NYC and was curious if there are any clubs, groups, and/or events about Corgis in NYC. As you might see from my profile pic, I have an adorable Pembroke name Colonel. He's still under a year old, but I dedicate almost all my spare time to training, socializing and just plain spending time with him :) So can anyone help me out? thanks!

Corgi Pet Insurance Recommendations?

Hi,

I have a corgi puppy that is about to turn a year old and he is also my first dog.

I'm thinking about getting pet health insurance for him but am not sure how to start or which one to take. Since when I googled it there were so many options I got a little overwhelmed.

Plus, I have been told my some that it is not necessary for pet insurance until they are much older, but am not really sure what to do here.

Anyone have advice for me please?

Visiting Marcus Sunday!

So I found out a little over a week ago that the breeder that I was hoping to get a puppy from had a 12 month old show prospect that had grown beyond breed standards. I spoke to her about him on the phone, and we've been emailing back and forth, and we are going to meet him this Sunday.

He sounds like an awesome dog, and judging from the picture, he has potentially the sweetest, most adorable little… Continue

Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and a reminder on pet safety for picnics.

Just a reminder to keep our furry friends safe:)

Common Picnic Poisons

Lastly, for you picnickers, make sure to keep common household picnic items out of reach when with your pets. Every day the Pet Poison Helpline receives many calls about pets getting into people food, some of which can be remarkably harmful.
