Don't get jealous, but my corgi doesn't grow a winter coat! I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this with their dogs. He'll be 2 in February and he didn't grow one last year and there are no signs of one this year either. I get a lot of people asking if he has been shaved because of how slick he is. Granted, he still sheds, and I just furminated him and got down undercoat out, but this past spring he never showed any signs of "tufts" of hair that I could easily pull out like you normally can on a sheddind, double coated breed.

Maybe some corgis just have a short coat. I have lots of hair to share if you like! LOL
Mine have plenty to go around! LOL

Jack's undercoat is just starting to come in now, I think.
LO doesn't either, that's my favorite pastime too on my other dog.
Coats do vary. Bella hardly had one till she turned 2 and then she grew it...it's not a real thick one but you can tell. The rests of mine have fairly thick coats but then Rainy has a very thick coat!
Lokis under coat is in, his premolars however, I doubt will ever come in.
Some corgis just have that "beagle" coat.
Yes, I have seen Corgis in Taiwan with thin coat. Yoda is still a puppy, he seemed to have normal coat. Since Taiwan does not get cold during winter, maybe the winter coat is temperature activated?
Thanks for all of your replies! I know winter coat should be stimulated by the day length more so then temperature, so here's to hoping he just doesn't develop one! I'll let everyone else keep their extra hair :)
