How big a heart you have. Sally looks wonderful and indeed it would have been so sad for her to be passed around to another home. To probably misquote the Beatles, "the love you give is equal to the love you get." You deserve lots of hugs and corgis kisses.

Ya know, no matter what my day has been, looking at people's corgis and their pictures always cheers me up.  I love these dogs (we've got 5 across our family now).  The first one was OneUP a Cardigan brindle who spent her life on a blueberry farm checking up on everybody and making sure that horse stayed on his side of the fence (1978-1996). -- Jeff

Hi Everyone.  I started out with one Corgi, Jake at the age of 10 wks. old.  He stole my heart and soul right away.  Two years later  I went on the breeder's website and discovered that Jake's mother was retired from breeding and showing and was up for adoption.  I immediately contacted the breeder.  I just had to have Chloe because she was Jake's mother.  She was my second Corgi.  At the same time, a friend of mine from Toronto adopted a tri girl named Sally who was also up for adoption by the same breeder.

After she had her for 2 1/2 months, she decided she couldn't keep her.  I was heartbroken for poor Sally.  She had been in 3 previous homes for breeding and had just finishing raising her second litter of 10 puppies.  I didn't want to see her go back to the breeder to be re-homed again so I took her in.  She is the sweetest girl you could ever meet.  She lets you do anything to her (brush, trim nails, clean teeth .... anything) and she never complains.  She is a good watch dog too.  She lets us know when someone strange comes near and warns all the other dogs.  She loves to play with our other dogs and fit in with the rest of the pack very nicely.  She is 5 yrs. old. I want you all to meet Sally.Her%20majesty%20Queen%20Sally%2015Jun10.JPG

On 10-30, my brother, George, received a call from his niece, Robin, up in Santa Barbara; about 2 hours North of us. She walks her dog on a path near the Marina and has made wonderful pet friends and their humans. She met Natasha who had this beautiful little Corgi named Andy. Natasha told Robin that she found herself in a dilemma. She loved her Andy but found she couldn't keep him anymore so she was looking for a new home for him.

Robin called George and he told me about Andy. At the time I had no idea what Andy looked like so Robin texted us a picture of Andy. OMG I was in love. He is absolutely gorgeous. Now how could I resist. I told George to tell Robin we'd come up on Sunday, Halloween, to pick him up. We packed snacks, plenty of water and put the Pupsters in the car. I think it's important for dogs to meet one another to see how they will get along. We went to the Marina to meet Natasha and Andy. Well you'd think the Pupsters always knew each other, they chased one another, did somersaults and what I like to call the football stance (when they line up with their butts in the air getting ready to tackle). They had a wonderful time. We followed Natasha back to her house where she gave us Andy, all of his belongings and his medical records (very important).

We had to make a couple of pee stops for the Pupsters along the way back home and they continued with chasing and playing. When they arrived home, they took off into the backyard like bullets and played some more (what a dog's life. . .LOL). They finally came in around 7:30 last night, fell asleep and didn't wake till almost 3:00 a.m. this morning, 11-01-10. They were so tired they didn't even want breakfast this morning. That's a temporary state-of-mind cause we all know how much Corgis like to eat. . .LOL

So that's the story of Andy, our new little fur-baby, and how he came to be.

I've had plenty of dogs in my life but never have I come across a dog that has stolen my heart. Corgis are so special that once you've had one, you are truly in love and know in your heart that this is the dog that will fill your world with lots of love and BIG SMILES. Plus they make the best companions. They rely on you for comfort, love, plenty of attention and can't forget that FOOD!!!!!

Remember, Corgis are like potato chips, you can't just have one.

Corgi kisses to all. . . .

xxxx

Great shots of Teegan and Walter. Clearly a picture speaks a 1000 words!
