It's official

So, as of approximately 9 am this morning, I found out that I will be moving to Baltimore, Maryland. My hubby just got a job offer.  We will be heading out there some time next month to find a place to rent, and then moving in some time after that.

So, does anyone know where to find corgi breeders out there? Or decent priced dog friendly rental…

California's First Dog is a Corgi named Sutter.

The new California Governor Jerry Brown brought his sister's Corgi to the Capitol.  He's been dogsitting for his sister, and Sutter, the Corgi was not really the official First Dog... until 02/14/11!  Governor's wife and he decided now that Sutter will officially be the First Dog of California!

is This a Good Idea?

So the other day my mom and i were discussing setting up doggy play dates for Ace in the Area i know our local Petstore gets flyers hung up so me and my mom were discussin making up a flyer with my phone number on it for people in the area that have dogs that want buddies so where Ace can get more socialized. Its really depressing going to the dog park and no one being there for him to play with other then me. So i was wondering if making the flyers up and posting them around town if they…

Our First Corgi: page 2-Parvo

Winston's arrival home was pretty much without fanfare. All the kids are used to dogs and understand what it takes to train them. Winston was introduced to Waldo first. The laid back attitude of Waldo and sheer size seemed to impress little Win. At the time Waldo tipped the scales at 140. Waldo accepted Winston without a fuss. Raymond the Tuxedo Cat educated Winston on the perils of trying to herd cats…

Venting: Dogsitting

Last night our friends dropped off their Shiba Inu that we have agreed to watch while they vaca in another part of the country.  We knew their girl got along with our boys through a few meet and sniff sessions we had arranged over the past few weeks prior but now that her owners are gone I'm starting to lose my mind.  In the past 12 hours she's already managed to pee on all of the carpets, the kitchen floor twice and our bed... TWICE. It's not like the proper precautions weren't taken either…

Our First Corgi

I've always wanted a Corgi. I really don't know where the desire came from but, over the years the thought that I wanted a Corgi rolled around in my brain. Off & on I would do some research into the breed-who had them, what did they act like, problems with the breed etc,  but for all my 'want to', I never actually met a Corgi. That is until a series of events transpired in 2006.

Devery, my youngest son, was 11 at the time & going through some pretty rough puberty…

Scarves for Sidney, pattern #3

Hi Corgi friends,

Edited to add: This paw print pattern is now gone. I will try to make some more in this pattern in the near future. We still have a few blue ones and stripey ones, plus a maroon/diamond pattern coming later this week.

There is a third pattern now available for Scarves for Sidney. If you missed it before, his story is told below:…

I scarred her for life with a helium balloon.

I found out the hard way that Mitzie is terrified of helium balloons.  I got them for my husband for Valentine's Day.  I didn't know where to hide them, and decided to just give them to him. So on the way into our apartment building, I tied them to the dogs' collars.  Everything was going fine, until one of them touched her.  She flipped out!  It chased her up 3 flights of stairs, she couldn't get away from it, and I couldn't get her to sit still long enough for me to untie it.  I let them into… Continue

Found this picture on my phone...

and I just had to share it. This was the 2nd and last time she ever slept on me. She's not a snuggler, so I'm glad I captured the moment.

Westminister Dog Show

The Westminister Dog Show is on USA channel tonight but only for one hour and then it switches to CNBC (I think). However, it is re-run on Tuesday morning on USA in full. The second half runs in full on USA on Tuesday night. I am cheering for the corgis!! The second half gets re-run on Wednesday on USA.

Waffle Update 2: Recovery and IVDD?

Decided to post this as a blog than a reply to my discussion.  Hope that's okay!

So, if you've missed it, Waffle has been sick.

It started Monday where he was just not himself.  Tuesday, I posted a discussion wondering about what was wrong.  Wednesday, he went to the vet under "emergency" circumstances with a fever of 104.0 F,…
