It just turned 6 am, and he is finally asleep for what I think will be the long haul. I noticed he sleeps several 1 hour naps all day and one large 5 hour one once the lights are out. I woke up this morning from the sound of his cage creaking. He wasnt barky, mis-behaved, he actually stayed pretty calm and chewed a nylabone until I got up. Today was a serious effort in potty-training and I learned alot of things about his personality. Even in the 48 hours he's been here, he has came along way…

So, I took Grover out on the town for the first time today. He is 14 weeks old, so I thought I had better start socializing him now! I'm feeling a little late in the game, getting him out to do stuff. But this is the first weekend it has worked out to go do some fun stuff.
We went to SpringFest, which is a local festival with lots of food and booths and music and stuff. It is a lot of fun, but this is the first year I've had a little tag-a-long buddy to take with me!
He was a hit!!…

I went to pickup my pup from the vet/breeder health check today. I was very excited to take him home. The vet said that he has an inguinal (spelling??) hernia. It is slightly visible on his lower left side on his inner stomache. I was given the option to take another pup when she gets one ect.. I know that these are fairly common in female dogs, but happen in males too. We worked out a solution, and I took Cheez-it home in spite of his issue. He seems to be doing great, he went through cycles…

I have been so busy lately that I haven't been on MyCorgi in a while! I am sorry for adding all these videos at once, but I finally had time to sit down and get it all done!
A couple of weeks ago I took my camera to the dog park with us and finally got video of Gonzo playing with the other dogs. We got lucky and there was one other purebred Pembroke there - the only one we have seen! They didn't seem very interested in each other but were chasing the other dogs around. Gonzo actually…

We finally got settled in our new house! Wahoo! Oakley and Maggie (the cat) seem to like it a lot. We have HUGE windows that go down to the floor that they can sit and look out of. Maggie has found that Oakley's bed provides a very soft lookout spot. Oakley has met a lot of the new neighbors and their children (there's something in the water because everyone is either pregnant or has one or two small children). She seemed a bit nervous around the little ones at first but now she loves it when…

Hey every one,
I was just wondering if any one has any advice ...we just brought home our first born son from the hospital a few days ago and rosa does not seem to be adjusting well. She is a little rough with him, lots of nudging with her nose(kind of like she does with our cat) and then she did growl at him this morning, and barks at him if he makes any sounds. also she went and peed in the baby room too. Now after she growling at him I am terrified to have them near one another, I dont…

Does anyone else have problems riding in cars with their Corgi? Daisy is OK until the car starts moving, then she slinks in the corner and puts her head right by the door. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Miles made it onto stuffonmymutt.com for the second time =)
http://www.stuffonmymutt.com/index.php?itemid=1741
His first time was here:
http://www.stuffonmymutt.com/index.php?itemid=879&catid=14
Everyone should go to this site, it's amazing and it needs to get as popular as stuffonmycat.com.
We should inundate the site with corgi pictures=)

I started vacation with a bang today. On top of the excitement that is finally picking up my pooch tomarrow, my auto insurance just dropped almost 1.5k a year from my recent birthday! Oh, and I am on a 30 day paid vacation, which is always good. I am going to the vet tomarrow about 2 cities over to see little Cheez-it for the first time and take him to my family's house which is close by. They have a corgi-sized lab/corgi/chow mix that is very personable but old in age, curious to know how the…

Trying to walk Lance on a leash can be a challenge, if he is already not worn out. He thinks everyone should say hello to him. We have two dogs Lance plays with, so when we go for a walk towards their house he automatically thinks he is going over there to play and pulls me there. I have tried making him sit and wait until he doesnt pull but that doesnt work. I have tried turning him around to walk in the opposite direction and then go back the way we were waling. I use a regluar leash not a…

Yesterday I visited the breeder and saw my pup for the first time. I was a bit shocked that only 4 out of 7 pups survived. They are 4 weeks old now and hopefully doing well. They were eating raw meat when we came and so they are all a bit dirty in the picture. Also their paws and white spots were pink from the meat, but they were sweet! I'm still not decided which one will be mine, but the breeder is very kind and so I will be the first to choose, no matter how many other people will come to…

Sleven is getting a sister!! And its actually HIS SISTER! The breeder that we got Sleven from (who is AWESOME) has a litter of puppies and we're going to go get a tri color female on Sunday. I can't wait!! It's just (sigh) perfect because I trust this breeder and Sleven is very handsome and this is exactly what we wanted....a tri baby girl. Anyway, I'm so excited and find it hard to concentrate on work so I just wanted to share my news! I posted some pix of her so if you love chubby puppy…

Well, I am happy to say that I have joined Mycorgi.com! I've been a visitor of this webpage for quite some time now but have just joined. I hope all will enjoy my Corgi's and I am looking forward to virtually meeting all of your Corgi's. Growing up I had a few different types of dog's, but it wasn't until I got my first Corgi when I was 15, that I truly feel in love. Corgi's are the best breed and I never plan on owning anything else.
We <3 Corgi's.

I can't believe it ...the day is almost here. We'll be going on Sunday afternoon to play with the puppies. There are seven and some are tricolors and some are red and white. Ohhhhh the anticipation is about to be the end of me!
Our two boys will be going with us. So much for my plan for calm cool temperment testing! Not meant to be. It will however be so much fun to see them rolling around with all those babies!
I will take tons of pictures and we MAY pick one out that…

We graduated!
I have seen a LOT of improvement mold from start to finish!
Mackenzie does listen to most commands...but unfortunately, still barks at me the whole time.
I am starting to just reward her with random treats when she is sitting and making no noise randomly.
IT SEEMS to be working. Trying to show her it pays to be quiet.
I think we could pass the k9 good citizenship test, if we didn't have the barking issue.
The trainer is even amazed…

My friend sent me an email today that included Dog's rules for living. People should take advice from our furry friends!
1. When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
2. Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
3. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
4. Take naps.
5. Stretch before rising.
6. Run, romp, and play daily.
7. Thrive on attention and let people…

Spring is here and Jake is out and about in the yard. There has been no rain, so the yard is dry and that means lots of running and running. He is very chummy with Guiness in the yard behind us. We had initially thought his name was Dennis as we could hear the owner calling him, but the lady talked to me last week and she said his name is Guiness as he is black and tan-seems to be a Rott/Lab mix. Big dog but very sweet. They love to run along the fence line together and once the lady clears…
