It seems that in the state of Washington it is illegal to have dogs off-leashe on school property. Even if its 5am on a Labor Day Monday. I had gotten off work early and arrived home about 10 mins. to 5, the corgi's were giving me the "Don't even think your going to bed without walking us" stare so I thought it being 5am and Dark outside I'd just run them up to the school. Now this school share's a feild with another school and this is a big feild between the 2. So I'm a little obsessed with… Continue
I'm so happy I've found a group of Corgi people. Maybe one of you can shed some light on our on-going issue. From the day we brought home our youngest Corgi, Dobby, he has been aggressive. When he was five months old he bit me and drew blood. We got him into dog training right after that. He and our other Corgi, who was two at the time, began fighting. Not play-fighting (though they did a lot of that too) but real fighting. Dobby is almost two now and things are much better between them. But… Continue
Today is Callie's 5th day of recovery and also the day we can start switch her to more solid canned dog food. She has been eating mushed up watered down canned dog food since the surgery. She gets fed frequently to just make it so she doesn't eat a lot at once and cause pressure on her intestine. So far today I've been slowly increasing the size of the bites (they are small chunks now) and by mid next week we may even start mixing in Kibble.
Everyday Callie has just seemed to get better… Continue
This wonderful website was created in September 2007 by Sam and Silvia after attending a meetup in Orlando, Florida. In November 2008, mycorgi.com became a non-profit charity, and since then there has been money donated to Sunshine Corgi Rescue, CorgiAid and Four Paws Corgi Rescue.
Sam and Silvia completely volunteer their time, and on this third year anniversary of the beginning of mycorgi.com, I thought we ought to give a big "Thank You" to them.
So we're giving Tegan a bath at PetSmart when in comes another corgi. So cute! He was a large adult Pem male, and Tegan is still a slightly puppy looking 10 month old Pem female. People kept commenting on how much "those dogs look alike!" Finally somebody said, "Are those the same kind of dog? I thought yours was a wiener dog cross." Hilarious!
My sister forwarded a picture of 2 corgis that are in a photo in this months issue of Better Homes & Gardens I don"t have the mag and i don"t know how to put the photo on the blog post from my page so if you want to see it go to my page or get the mag :-)
I'll confess that I have a old lady habit of cross-stitching...He-He...I don't know why or how exactly I picked this up but have never been able to find a pattern for a corgi. If you know of one I'd really like to get it...These are some examples of what I've done. I did 2 baby one's because of my sister's new arrival soon and didn't read the directions quite right on the first one so had to re-order and start again ooops...…
Only 4 corgis were there but we enjoyed some silly games including ring around the corgi, the corgi dash, and corgi dress up. Not sure if Stanley was too fond of the last one but it made for some fun… Continue
Hmmmm… how do I start this. I guess with a short story about a comment that was made to us when we were at the beach with Soffie and Griffyn last week. A man on the beach with his dog inquired to us as to what breed of dogs we had. When we told him Pembroke Welsh Corgis he replied… Really?? Aren’t they usually FAT?!!!
Sad but true I’m afraid…. So I am going to post a…
Had the Gunster at the vet this morning. Doc thinks he has ragweed allergy. Says that he has seen tons of dogs in the last 3 weeks with same thing. Red , itchy skin. He put him on Tamaril for a week to settle things down from the inside out. Anyone else have this problem? I tried taking care of it without meds for a week or so. Using Aloe Vera lotion and Burt's Bees Hot Spot salve...I guess it helped keep him from having open sores but over all his skin remained itchy and inflamed so now I…
So it's a good thing we had the vet visit scheduled when we did because Apollo (our male) is definitely sick and apparently suffering. (I really don't think it's behavioral because sure he cried a little whenever we had kennel time before but now it is incessantly) The poor thing has cried ALL day/ALL night for the last 24 hours with the small exception that he's okay for the duration of our walks/potty time. When we got back from our trip we noticed the little guy looked incredibly bloated and… Continue
I got to bring Callie home today, we still need prayers that things keep going good. She has been very happy and staying close to her mama. Its already been tough to keep hercalm. She is on a special diet for awhile, which she really likes the food so that is good. I am off to spend more time with her and I will keep everyone updated.
For those who don't know what I'm talking about check out my previous blogs.

Does anyone have little games you play with your corgi? Zoe loves a couple of them. The kids love to play hide and seek with her. We'll hold her in a room while they take off to another room and hide. Then Zoe tears through the house, looking behind doors, on beds and couches, behind the dining room table, etc. til she finds them. It's a hoot watching her search. You can almost see the gears in her head turning "have I looked here yet?" Her other favorite is what we call "Hide and Treat."… Continue
Yup, that's right. My dog got run over by a bicycle. We were on a multi-use trail yesterday and a gentleman was riding a bike with his dog. Usually when cyclists pass Casey and I on off-leash trails, I call her over and either make her heal, or we just stop and move to the side and wait for them to pass. This time, I saw that he had an off-leash dog with him who was quite a ways away from the cyclist on the side…
