BEWARE WHAT YOUR CORGI EATS AND DRINKS!

We almost lost our dear Joey last week due to vomiting and diarrhea.  He's an old guy and older dogs can go downhill very quickly when this happens.  Fortunately our doctor in Marina Del Rey California helped us over the phone with a diagnosis and a perscription for an antibiotic.  Joey has recovered completely!

But we believe his gastroenteritis was due to drinking pavement water that was sitting in the sun and had parasites.  Also Joey is a scavenger and will eat anything…

Someone is peeing/pooing in the house.

Don't know which one it is but it is highly annoying. As I am home with them all day I can cater to their potty times. For some reason I actually have to go outside with LO but he is learning to go outside by himself like Bootsie. I tell them go pee pee or poo poo and LO actually does if he needs to go but should our schedule change it is like they are being asses to us. I suppose I can get out the Xpen again but LO can jump out of that but I will at least know who is messing with us when we… Continue

First Trip to the Dog Park!

So we visited the Wagging Tail Dog Park today!

Zombie's first visit! She's been everywhere else with me, disc golfing, the lake, etc. But I was nervous to take her to the dog park, just because I know quite a few smaller dogs that aren't so…

This made me tear up....:)

Our 14-year-old dog Abbey died last month. The day after she passed away my 4-year-old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so, and she dictated these words:

Dear God,…

So I have been doing some research recently into turning Ace into my Service animal.. I mean he is already a mental hygiene pet... but once i get a steady pay check we are going to be putting him through classes..

Now i know what you are saying... how can you have him as a service animal..

I have really BAD anxiety attacks.. and recently they have been becoming worse and worse.. especially in social situations.. I get nervous and shut down more or less.. (unless i know the… Continue

Good bye my Sweet Boy

Today it was time for me to say good bye to Sweet Boy, my nearly sixteen year old cat. As this picture shows, Teddy was afraid of the little ten pound cat and B honestly despised the noisy corgi. This is the only time I caught them together on the bed. Usually B would growl slightly and send Teddy scampering away.

However, Teddy is aware that…

Is this a fluffy?

How do you know if a corgi puppy is going to turn out to be a fluffy?

The hard job of picking one out!

Today we picked out our first Corgi.  I've named him Brian after being a long time fan of the Family Guy.  This will be my first small dog ever!  I am a stay at home mom to 2 gorgeous German Shepherds.  They've been wanting a small dog to call their own.

I've read many blog posts on food and other things, but I'm so overwhelmed with trying to find out about a breed that I know nothing about... other than I've always wanted one because they are cute.  SO...  after much…

Finally turned 4 months

Harrison will be 4 months tomorrow (happy birthday little guy! )  So i got his his last set of puppy shots last Wednesday and on Sunday we made our way to our local dog beach and he loved it! Well.. he loved the sand and all the other dogs, but he didn't like the cold water. lol . We also took our chihuahua who despite being kinda anti-social had a blast as well!

As for my brothers corgi-poodle, Elly, she is doing fine and dandy. Her and Harrison have a great time playing…

Day of Spay = Anxious Mommy

Emmy got spayed today. I went to a really nice vet that let me take her home the day of. My heart is broken for my little baby. She just seems so miserable. I'm trying not to feel sorry for her because I know she can feel my emotions, but I can't help it. She is moving so slowly. Her mouth is so dry but she won't drink. She just wants to lay on the floor. I don't know if she's hurting because she doesn't cry. I just want to help her, but I don't know what to do. I am hoping she bounces back…

Corgi Walks - A Step toward World Peace

Today a group of twelve corgis from two countries successfully circumnavigated Lake Padden in Bellingham, Washington without war breaking out.  Could this be the solution to world peace.  Maybe all owners should  take their corgis for a walk to promote peace and harmony.  We must try this soon in Vancouver, BC.

There was no discrimination in regards to breed, colour, age, height, tailed or non, able bodied or not.  Just a pack of dogs out enjoying the day.…

Surprise!!! Someone Has Allergies!!!

10:30 - Went out for a potty break.

10:50 - Sat scratching her nose on the carpet.

11:00 - Her head was an inch wider on all sides

11:01 - Called vet ER, crying, thinking she was going to die.

11:15 - Why do they always have to stick a finger in her butt?

11:30 - A shot and a treat.  Puffy face for 6 more hours, but…

Ellie's First Boo-Boo

Little Miss Ellie went in for her spay on the 17th.  What a trooper she's been!  She was her usual self from the moment she returned home (the Vet kept her overnight for observation, which is standard practice at their office) and was as playful as always.  I, on the other hand, was a total wreck about it last week.

I knew she wasn't in pain and all would be well, but I felt absolutely horrible about keeping her confined to her crate nearly all day long.  Why not…

Agility Training Session 9/29

I've started an actual training schedule for Baxter, with a bunch of different exercises we can do to keep things interesting. We will competing for the first time in November and I want to feel more prepared. So I'm going to post about our training sessions here so I can chart Baxter's progress. Last night's drills:

  • Weaves - 6 closed poles, with guides (the last guide was missing because I miscounted although the missing guide…

Rushed to the emergency vet tonight...

I woke up to Dakota throwing up, then moving around her pen. I got up to check on her and she was acting weird and suddenly she stiffened up. Then she started shaking and foaming at the mouth... I'm assuming seizure. It lasted probably no more than a minute and she was petrified after.

Her vitals are good. I am calling her regular vet tomorrow. It's her first time and it really freaked me out. She's acting like her crazy self now, but I am just sick with worry over this. :(
