My parents were farm people for the first part of their lives, Mennonites (sort of like the Amish) for whom cleanliness really is next to godliness. They saw dogs as fine creatures, good and useful companions on the farm, but dogs were also animals like cows, chickens, and pigs --- and animals live
outside. Mom & Dad never quite approved or were comfortable when they'd come for a visit to our place and would have to deal with dogs in the house even…

I bought Sadie a Flying Squirrel toy from Harbor Freight in Austin Texas and she absolutely loved it - it is a great toy and they have unending hours of fun running & catching it. You can also find them at their website www.chuckit.com
It is definately worth the money to buy one for your special friend - they will appreciate it and so will you when yous ee how much fun they have with it.

I've always loved both corgi breeds and when I originally set out to get my first corgi it was suggested I get a Cardigan as they are typically more laid-back. I wanted to go full-throttle so I got a Pembroke. Bernie was quite an adventure for a first-time dog owner. She still keeps me on my toes thinking ahead and taught me a lot as a dog trainer.
My second corgi came from the same breeder and we got a gorgeous male tri-color. He is laid-back but loves to play. He makes the perfect…

After much fretting that her beauty would be SERIOUSLY marred with the possible addition of tape to her ears, Daphne decided to do the sensible thing and get her second ear up as well. Good choice, my love.

Introducing Champion C-Myste Baledwr Whomping Willow aka Captain. At just 17 months old and less than a year of showing Captain my Blue Cardigan got his last point towards his Championship. He got it on March 25th at the Kennel Club of Salinas in Vallejo, CA under judge Mr. Del Richards. We are very happy for him and wanted to share the great news. This is my first show dog and I showed him for every single one of his points.

I just saw a commercial with a red Pembroke in it. I thought it was for Zyrtec but I can't find it online anywhere. Has anyone else seen it?

I am so excited! I have a new puppy! Ryley was born in November and would have been ready to take home the day before my wedding, but between wedding plans and our rescue Tanner I knew we wouldn't be able to handle taking her on. On Easter Sunday I went on the computer to see that little five month old Ryley was still available... I was thrilled! Tanner is so much better now (of course he still has his moments) but we could totally handle her. We sent the breeder an email that…

So now after the collar incident they go naked in the house Ha-ha...But one other thing is Jordan has always been crated because he has never been nice in the car and Teagen has been seat belted in the front seat but I've always had airbag concerns since my car has no off or on option so I went and got her a crate but the only way to get both of them in is to put them sideways in the back....but I'm afraid if I get rear ended their crates are right there...do any of you guys have these…

As Maui's "fursonality" develops or has developed, it seems we find more and more ways of addressing her and finding funny words to associate with her. I would like to share some and also feel free to share some here too! Will also post this on Corgilove on my LJ.
Maui is a.k.a.... "The Mau", Noodle Dog, Mau-Mau, Long-eared dog (my dad calls her that)
and she uses her "sniffa sniffa",
Her toys in ruling order, King Wubba, Queen Flea, and jester "rope-rope", followed…

OK, Here it is and it is another tough one! I had real reservations about stopping here and taking this picture because it wasn't that long ago that the natives of this area would have been serving Bear up on a spit with a nice flat bread. However, the view was worth the risk. It is hard to imagine that just a little over an hour before taking this picture we were out in the desert…

Puppies grow and grow fast, no doubt about that. When we first met Gromit I couldn't help but notice his large paws, even at 12 weeks of age they were big so I suspected that he would either be a big guy or very much a "teddy bear" looking Corgi.
Back around the first of March a discussion with Gromit's breeder, Jean York, and other Corgi breeders at the Scottsdale dog show led to the decision that Gromit and his brother Night (who still lives with Jean) could stand to ease up on their…

I have a shopping problem. It's not clothing, jewelry, cosmetics, or anything that might get me out of my perpetual shabby, unchic look. It's toys. When my kids were babies, I couldn't wait to try out every new developmental toy I could get my hands on. It appears I am no different with my fur babies. Since Minnie is 9, it has been a while since I've visited the dog toy aisles - and what a difference. Target, Walmart and our regional super shopping center Meijer, have at least three aisles…

Hi everybody I just wanted to share what happened yesterday so maybe it can be avoided in your household with your baby's.
Yesterday Jordan and Teagen were wrestling when Jordan's jaw got wrapped around in Teagen's collar it was very scary both dogs were whining and panicking trying to get apart it took both Greg and I holding them still to locate the quick release and seperate them. I'm am so thankfull that we were home when it happened or Jordan might have broken his jaw getting…
