They loved them but didn't like it when I put them away! Definitely a must from now on!

Everyone have a Merry Christmas and I hope you enjoy this year's story. It is my gift to everyone. My hope is that you like the story well enough to buy the book and help to support CorgiAid. It has been a tremendous honor to have this published this year and I could not have done it without the help of my trusty helpers. The blog spot does not feature the art, however, the story is there in its entirely. The artwork is wonderful and we hope to have the last three original pieces up on eBay to…

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!
Another Corgi Christmas
Twas the night before Christmas,
It was quiet as a mouse,
Not a Corgi was stirring,
A rare treat at our house.
Treat bags were hung on the X-pens with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.
The Corgis stretched out, hogging the bed,
Feet pointing up, acting unfed.
Mamma's in her flannels, I'm in my briefs,
Trying to get comfy in a bed full of…

Bear has never much cared for having his paws handled, and it's something I've worked on forever. Whenever he jumps up on the couch next to me, I hold his paw and rub on it to get him used to the sensation/feeling.
Today, he jumped up on the couch. I reached over, gave him some lovings on his head and then sat my hand down next to him on the couch. He put his paw on my hand. I covered his paw with my hand and he laid down and went to sleep.
It occurred to me that he's…

Who would've thought that taking your dog to a crowded noisy mall and plopping him onto a jingling red-faced stranger's lap would have worked out so well.

We are all safe and sound here but I wanted to share a horrible story that was front page news on our local paper here recently. It involved a local farm family and their 2 St. Bernards one 3yrs and one 17 mos...They had let the dogs out and one did not come back! After searching for her one of their daughters came upon her lifeless in one of the nearby fields...she had their younger dog with her at the time and was making the dreaded cell phone call to let her parents in on the horrible news…

For years all I ever had to utter, under my breath, was the word "walk" to get my dogs up and rolling toward the door. Some of my dogs have been so eager to hear the word, that an accidental mention of the "W" word would send them spinning and yelping through the house. Not so with Tag.
The word "walk" seems to hold no charm for him at all. Don't get me wrong, he loves to get out of the house and is eager to see his leash...so eager that on occasion he's found it and brought it to me…

We bivouacked on a knife-edge ridge well above 6000', no tent necessary, sky TV all night, a big volcano right behind us. We had sunset, moonset, and sunrise, all from the same place. But there was something vaguely ominous about that sunset...

Lucky keeps taring her diapers off. I even tried the head cone thingy and she can still tare the diapers off. I have even been disciplining her and Lucky just keeps taring the diapers off when I am not looking at her. I really need help because she is making blood stains all over our rented house.

A little piece of our roof collapsed just now, and Bella was the first one to investigate, of course. Bella is like our little Sherlock Holmes. Whenever a mystery needs solving, she's the first on scene. In this mystery, she sniffed everything on sight and ran straight upstairs to investigate further. Which I thought was amazing. She made the connection between the things falling from the roof and the upstairs level. Hmmm.

Brian lost his lower 3 front teeth a couple of days ago.
Check out Brian's teethless-ness:
The picture is grainy because I had to take a screenshot of a video I took since he couldn't stay still for a clear enough picture.
I've been feeding his dry food and adding water to it since he gulps his food down. No chewing whatsoever. By adding water, I slow him down just a little since he has to drink the water first. But…

There was so much blood, I was so scared. I am grateful for living only two houses down from the vet. My cousin brought his dog (who wasn't properly socialized) to my house, they got a long fine at first, then she snapped. Wynstan ran yelping with blood gushing out. My whole family was here, my younger cousins were freaking out, and his blood covered my shirt. I picked him up and we ran to the vet's. Luckily the good vet was working and it was nothing serious. When I got back, my uncle said he…

Just spent over an hour shoveling the driveway and back patio. My 2 Corgis were out running around in the snow. One loved being thrown into a huge pile of snow - queen of the mountain - the other was terrified! haha :)

I've always had great experiences at our local dog park - and always keep an eye out for aggressive dogs and dogs with strong prey drives, especially since Goldy looks like a little bunny, but it never occurred to me to be on the lookout for greyhounds (pitbulls, german shepherds, etc, yes, but greyhounds? I had no idea).
We go to the dog park mostly on days I'm off work from school because I can pretty much guarantee there won't be any other dogs there, and if there are, there's…
