Today I took Sidney to an open house/grand opening for an indoor dog training facility called The Whole Dog.

They had  vendors, guest speakers and activities.

We decided to compete in Simon Says; it started with "sit" and got harder from there. Finally it was down to Sidney and a standard poodle named Bear. THe last task was putting them in a "stay", walking…

Our San Diego Corgi Meetup Group was asked to participate in pre-wedding photos for a woman who loves corgis but does not have one of her own. Well, she does now, I heard that they were getting a pup as a wedding gift. I made a "tuxedo bandana" for Sidney using a dinner napkin and my son's bow tie. Sidney's training school held a Canine Olympics this week. We had lots of fun! Sidney and his girlfriend Maggie represented for the Corgwyn.

They had several events, including the hurdles, high jump, agility course, leash work, puppy push-ups and down-stay.

Last weekend, a couple of my kids and I took Sidney to our local twice-a-year Renaissance Faire.

Sunday is the big day! Sidney and his team of low riders (30 corgis!) will be walking in the Paws in the Park fundraiser for the Escondido Humane Society.

Yesterday Sidney and I were on our usual morning walk in the neighborhood. There is a house we pass right by where they keep their dog, a brindle pit mix, tethered to a tree. Every morning he rushes the fence at us, snarling, only to be stopped short by the tether.

Yesterday, as we walked by, I noticed he was at the far end of his yard, and a lady (I assume his owner) was with him. I think maybe she had just let him out of the house.
