Please keep good thoughts for Katie tomorrow. She has a growth on her right front leg and it's being removed. It doesn't feel like a fatty cyst but it's not attached to the bone so that is good. The vet wasn't sure so he wants to remove it and then send it to pathology.
Katie will be 11 next month, she is such a sweet girl...loving and a total velcro dog. Your good thoughts will be much appreciated.

He has a subcutaneous lipoma low on his side. For those who don't know what they are, they are a fatty growth that is common to older dogs. These are not cancer. Normally they stay small and don't need to be removed...I think just about all my older dogs have had them. The one Max has is low on his side and it grew quickly and large, about the size of a softball. The vet said she can close her fingers almost completely on the inside of the growth which means it's not attached to…

The surgeon called and informed me that Ein has come out of surgery and did well. The mass was not an abscess and she did not think it was a polyp due to the broad base it had. But she is confident that she removed quite a bit of it.
She is uncertain if it is a benign or malignant mass though, but it is being sent in for a biopsy. That will be either Friday or Monday before we get the results.
She will be calling us once he is fully awake so we can go see him. Unfortunately, he…

Well, we did it. We scheduled the surgery for this upcoming Friday. Last night Bella seemed fine, played a bit and ran around with the neighbor's dog, ate all her dinner, and slept on the couch like her normal self. She is completely in good heath other than her current problems and being a tad overweight, but hey, her pudge is what makes her squeezable! Anyways, hopefully the removal will be successful and she won't have problems urinating anymore. She is on a strong antibiotic for…

Hi everyone!
I just set up my 9-10 month corgi up for a special surgery cause he has crytorchidism to get fixed on Monday, April 25th.
I'm extremely nervous, since I was told it was more of an exploratory surgery to find his one testicle. Since they don't exactly know which area of his body it'll be in.
Can anyone help ease my anxiety? Is it a safe surgery? Do you know if my corgi will feel okay after the surgery? Is there any advise I should…

Hi Corgi friends,
As many of you know, last August Sidney was diagnosed with hip dysplasia, and he underwent FHO surgery in order to give him mobility and alleviate some of the pain. If you've been reading my blog posts, you've seen how he did in his recovery and how he's moving really well now and walks without a limp. It was the right choice to get him the surgery.

Today Sidney went back to the Surgical Specialty hospital for his one month checkup. Despite his having a rough day last Thursday, he was in good spirits and moving pretty well today. I had been getting discouraged because he was just not wanting to use the leg, but in the last couple days it's like he turned a corner. He's started standing on all fours and taking a few "normal" steps as he moves around.
Today, Sidney actually let the vet manipulate his leg! Doc said he could…

Hi All,
My boy Gunny had ACl surgery 8 weeks ago. The repaired leg is obviously weaker and looks skinnier than the other due to muscle atrophy. I might be jumping the gun here, but I am concerned that I should be doing more to make him use the repaired leg more. We are still helping him up stairs but he goes down once in a while on his own. We are only doing very short walks and trying to keep him from his usual running around. Is there something I should be doing to force him to put…
