I was reading a book on how the wolf became the dog... There were some pretty cool facts there. Did you know that wolves did not bark? Those early people singled out the ones who liked barking and claimed them valuable and bred them. Go figure. xD Because we mostly want out doggies to shut up.... ...The early people also bred their dogs to smile. They though it looked funny in dogs so thats why you see more dogs with smile wrinkles/dimples today when they pant. It is just…

The quality of this photo could obviously be better, but it's still entertaining. After all, it does star a Corgi.

This morning, Lady graciously celebrated the two week mark of living with us by taking a massive, pungent dump just to the side of the bed as I slept. All the blame goes to my husband, who thought it would be a good idea to not inform me that she had yet to poop in the A.M., and then let her roam freely in the bedroom while he went off to work. I won't soon forget the smell (compounded by the fact that I had thrown up my innards the night before thanks to eating…

My favorite part is when Lance puts his right paw over his left one and then the left one over the right one in response to the command "Pose". You can't hear his trainer say "pose" in this video but I've watched him other videos.

It's been a while since I could write some more about Delia. As expected, between work, graduating school and having a brand new puppy to attend to, writing an update wasn't a priority. Delia is doing great. She has settled in nicely and progressively has more energy every day. When we are outside with the other dogs, it's fun to watch her study everyone before she tries to herd them. She's great in the car. She sits in her basket quietly from start to stop and has been all over the state…

I haven't been online much lately for multiple reasons, so I thought I'd just pop in and make a brief post. We have two houses on our property now, one of which does not have Internet (which is the main reason I have not been online much), but it is a cozy little cabin and we have been staying there a lot. I just have to say how proud I am of our two furbabies when it comes to their flexibility. We have been spending almost all of our days at the cabin and we split the nights up between the…

There is a lot going on with Ziggy lately. I regrettably stopped doing a Happy Month Mark post for Ziggy since Skittles passed away.. It just hasn't felt right on the eighth anymore to celebrate, it leaves a hole in my heart to even acknowledge the day, but I know that Skittles wouldn't want me to put anything on hold, not even something so small. He had no concept of time, and it wasn't the…

Chloe chases the cat Kudos. I am so tired of it. She mounts the cat. Kudos the cat does not have front claws. The "leave it" command is sometimes helpful, but at times not. Does anyone have recommendations on how to deal with this?

So on Saturday we went to the Bark in the Park and Lilly and Her family, and Ein entered the costume contest. We got a second place!!! We had them as cowboys, cowgirls and even had a couple of cows! Took photos and got alot of comments on the pack of Corgis...we had 6 there! The min pins were the cows...and they did a great job. The only bought costumes were the cows....we made everything else! We had such a good time!

Today there was a beer festival in our town. It is kinda on the small side, only filling up a few parking lots, but fun and conveniently located. We brought Kaylee with us and she was wonderful. She allowed dozens of people to pet her without a problem at all and met a few other friendly dogs as well. She did pull some in the excitement, which we need to work on, but mostly she just acted like a happy puppy surrounded by probably good distracting things.
Many people asked what…

A couple of weeks ago, we made a trip out to huntington dog beach with the dogs to commemorate the end of finals! Billy and I took the corgis out with their golden retriever best friend and their parents. We had such a fun time, we were not expecting it to be so nice (: lots of dogs frapping out, running into the waves, catching balls, it was AWESOME! unfortunately, emi and helix did not enjoy the water too much, but occasionally would wonder out to follow their golden retriever best friend.…

Tucker and I have really been practicing the weave poles lately. In agility, weave poles are usually the hardest for a dog to learn, and there are several different methods for teaching it. We used the "weave-o-matic" method where the poles are like this:
The dog is trained to run down the center. Gradually the poles are adjusted until they are standing…

Hi everyone! Even though I'm a new member of this site I've actually been reading alot of the blogs lately haha, totally don't know why I didn't think of signing up.
I'm new to the corgi society but I'm a die hard fan of them !
I've always wanted a corgi for the longest time and now I think is the right timing to finally make one of these precious dogs mine :)
