I was waiting for supper to finish cooking last night, so I plopped down on the floor in the kitchen to wait out the oven (we have no kitchen table in our kitchen, only out in the dining room - so no chairs). Casey was laying in her usual spot at the edge of the kitchen (I have a very strict "no dog in kitchen while cooking" rule since I almost dropped a pot of boiling water on her and myself a while back when she decided to…
Gem is 2 years old today!!! We have beautiful weather here (finally) to celebrate so that will help. We made our first Emergency Vet Visit this week. My neighbor came over to relax and chat and slipped off her shoes and socks. Bear has always loved socks, but usually he just wants to play tug of war with them. He grabbed hers and as I went to him to tell him "Drop It" which we learned forever ago and works, he looked me square in the eye and swallowed it. It was one of those thin footie sock things. So $133 later, he vomited it right up for them and we came…
I have been brushing mass amounts of fur out of Odie recently... is it that time of year? I had heard about Corgi's "blowing coat" twice a year... is anyone else's Corgi doing the same right now?
I am using a rubber brush called the Zoom Groom, and it seems to work very well, but are there better brushes out there?
If anyone is experiencing dog food allergies with their corgi(s) please feel free to read this article http://hubpages.com/hub/dog-food-allergies-info. I have been through this struggle and want to share some helpful information to get our little love bugs back on track. Thanks for reading and sharing! Hope everyone is well.
So it's a little over a month after Callie had a softball sized benign tumor removed from her intestine and she has made a wonderful recovery. She's back to her old self again... well besides one thing. She begs for food now. Before the surgery she would rarely beg for food, in fact I'd usually have to remind her to eat. Now it will be an hour or so before I feed her and she looks up at where I keep her food and at her dish. And she does this all the time. It's not a bad thing, at least she… Continue

I'm entering Orion into a photo contest. Its kind of an out-doorsy thing and I don't have a lot of pictures of Laika outside (its too hot for her, now that its cooling down she'll stay outside for longer) so I'm going for an Orion picture. Help me pick which one I should enter!
Seems Jon Farleigh has a little problem with rain...and umbrellas...and walking on leash with ladies under umbrellas...and pooping outside in the rain (even though it's been 13 hours and he's scarfed two meals). Ugh! Mom is very wet and cold and tired...
so this week has definately been stressful. All 3 of the dogs at our house seem to be going crazy. Hurley keeps chewing, and being very mean to the other dogs. Due to how jealous he is. Stella our min pin has started peeing and pooping in the house again. After she had completely stopped. She also wont stop climbing the fence... Booker the Saint Bernard we are dog sitting turned the top of the fence down and jumped it. I also cant keep him or the others out of the cat box.... I hope things get… Continue
Over the course of the last couple weeks the topic of the Bufo Toad has come up Twice!!
First when a friend of mine's little Daschund had a sudden seizure. And after the fact her husband remembered there had been a Bufo Toad in their garage. And this morning - when my sister saw one in her back yard!!
Smudlik the daschund is on meds for seizures for one month, because they are not 100% positive that he came in contact with the Bufo. He was lucky - they think…
On Monday September 27th, Murphy was the dog of the day on the blog The Daily Corgi. We were beaming with pride. I told the writer about him months ago and we had talked of getting him on her blog and into the daily Corgi calendar which he will now be featured in as well. She did a nice little write up of Murph for the blog and I'm very proud of it. We have it saved on the computer and it will probably get put into his scrapbook once I start making one for him and Stella. Here is the link… Continue
