Well, he is about 2 years old. I found him on petfinders.org 1 year ago today...here we are taking a magic carpet ride into space this morning after he ate a squirrel for breakfast (a cookie shaped like a squirrel:)...) corgi kisses to all from courtie court

I just had to laugh last night, Taz was laying on the bed with us watching NCIS (no corgis on last night) and all of the sudden he started makeing all sorts of "corgi noises" and he was rolling around on the bed and scootching himself around on his back. He just cracked us up. I am curious if males are more likely to be vocal then the females? KC although occsionally will make some grumblings or such she hardly ever "talks" to us like Taz does. Last night was the first time he did it for a long…

I posted this on the Corgi Health group and have not received any responses, so I thought I'd try here. Our darling, 4-1/2 month old Brody went to "our" vet for the first time last week to receive his final shots and get a health check. The vet, who we trust, said that his front knees were more knock-kneed than they should be, even for a Corgi. She said that their structure would put a lot of stress on his joints, both at the knee and at the top of the legs.
She said he would become…

Wookie was neutered at 7 months old. He came home a little groggy but, other than that....he is a super dog! You would of never know that he lost his gonads in the vet that day. He didn't bother with the stitches and his activity went the same as it did the day before. I am amazed with his recovery time! Our other dogs were not so resilliant. Yeah for the Wookster!

I was just wondering, do any of you put socks or booties on your corgis? My house has hardwood floors and whenever Scraper and I play fetch he always has trouble stopping himself and will run into the wall or he can't get a good grip and fumble around. I'm thinking about getting him socks or booties so he won't get hurt but I want to find out if they work well or not. Please let me know!

Dax is a little over 11 months old now and I finally made the decision to get him neutered. It was hard, he's such a good dog, I just think it'll really be best for him and hopefully it'll help with him marking. I brought him in this morning and they're keeping him overnight. It was weird coming home and no nub-wagging happy corgi face to greet me. :( Makes me wonder how I'd act if something ever happened to him. I'm going to pick him up first thing in the morning, hopefully he doesn't feel…

We have a new Corgi. He is such a super dog, but he has a bad habit. He wants to mark his territory next to our toilet bowl. He doesn't have accidents in the house at all except for the marking. I don't know how to stop him. Any ideas please help.

Hi all,
I have a question about transitioning from leaving your puppy in a crate to a limited space. As some of you might know, I lost Corky last year when she somehow got into the trash. I am feeling extremely anxious about leaving Calli alone, but she is getting older and I feel badly leaving her in the crate during the day. My bedroom has two doors which I could block off so that she could have the room which is completely clear of anything. I just don't know if any of you have…

PLEASE TELL EVERY DOG OR CAT OWNER YOU KNOW.
Over the weekend the doting owner of two young lab mixes purchased Cocoa Mulch from Target to use in their garden. They loved the way it smelled and it was advertised to keep cats away from their garden. Their dog Calypso decided that the mulch smelled good enough to eat and devoured a large helping. She vomited a few times which was typical when she eats something new but wasn't…

So Chesney is doing great! She already weighs 12 lbs! Is that normal for being 12 wks? I dunno. All I do know is that she LOVES to eat...lol. I only give her a scoop of food twice a day but she hoovers her food and then runs over to Oreos and pushes him out of the way and starts eating his...lol. I think she might be finally understanding that that is not acceptable because last night for the first time she hoovered hers and then just sat and watched Oreo eat his. But I'm not sure if it might…

I just found out that a puppy has to be at least 6 months old before we can take it to one of the dog parks here. Guess we will have to rely on PetCo, Petsmart, and dogs in the neighborhood that use the track field at the middle school by our house to keep our pup (once we get one) socialized with other dogs! What are some of the rules at your dog parks. Also here if the animal is intact must have your intact license with you.

Ok, so my puppy is pretty much house trained at home. He has only peed once in my house and that was because I took too long to get my coat on.
The problem is when I take him to my fiance's house he likes to pee on the carpet. I am pretty sure it is because she has a golden retriever and he is trying to mark territory. Except, he isn't peeing on anything upright.
Any ideas? I would like to keep him out at her house, but if he keeps peeing randomly it may not be an option.

Today we found out something very strange. We had always wanted to train Pooka to play dead when we pointed a 'finger gun' at her and said "Bang, you're dead" EVENTUALLY. Well zachary was playing around while I was training her the normal stuff and pointed his finger gun at her and said "POW" and she got scared and ran. We tested this out a few more times (she will also run if you say BANG, but not if you say PYEW PYEW). She will run to a corner and hide and look pathetic like she did something…

Hi All,
So last night I left 10 month old Scraper at home with the boyfriend and friends while I went to go watch a movie. I got a call from the boyfriend saying that Scraper started limping... so I came home and I asked what happened and he said that Scraper was running around the house being hyper and playing with everyone, later everyone went out to the backyard and Scraper came out crying and limping. Scraper was limping and barely walking around, but eventually went to…

Day two for Koby has gone great! He had one accident today in the house but other than that he has done excellent at going outside! He played earlier with the neighbors dog and ran with him back and forth along the fence. He keeps eating everything outside so I have to really watch him closely! He ate a dead lizard earlier! My husband bought him a new bed for the crate so he is more comfortable! The cats are still tolerating him ok. Kira got outside this morning! I don't let my cats outside so…

So remember how I mentioned that Mac got to play in the water yesterday? Well, he liked it so much that he started jumping in and out of the tub this morning and looking at the faucet like "hey, why isn't this thing working?" So I went in and put about a centimeter deep puddle in the bottom of the tub and he has been playing in it for the last hour. He seems to like chasing black dirt specks all around inside of it. Its rather adorable :)
Anyone else have Tub Corgis?
