Do your dogs have specific music preferences?
Whenever we picked up Izzie for the first time. I found that she was a lot quieter if we talked to her. Well, we couldn't talk all the time since it was a 2 hour drive back home, so we thought maybe music would calm her down. As soon as we put Enya on, she was quiet. If the music stopped, she started to whine again. Eventually, we had brought her up to the front and I held her to keep her company since she was so used to being with her…

For a 17-pound Corgi, Cam can really get herself into some "situations".
Last night, we went to a friend's house for dinner. Cam came with us. Our friend, Joe, came by with his Pomeranian, Jake, who proceeded to crack us up with his behavior.
Jake is your typical Pomeranian. High-strung, yappy, fluffy, small. Camber is your atypical Corgi. Quiet, solitary, intolerant of the excitable pooches. Mix those together and its a recipe for disaster. Well, not disaster. Actually,…

So my mom has found a breeder in Illinois that has a possibly pregnant female...
However, the woman had yet to get her dog an ultrasound, so we weren't 100% sure.
And she was supposed to call on Sunday after the appointment....but never did.
Ugh, I'm assuming thats not a good sign...
Jeez I'm so nervous!

My boyfriend's sister is into touchy queery natural foods, so she bought his cat a bunch of different foods to try out. Bag after bag and can after can. I don't mind it, but two cans were Nutro brand. That's quality food right there...
My kitties don't eat canned food but since my boyfriend had decided... which one his cat liked best, there was surplus cat foods to contend with. I took a few cans to take to animal control, since those kitties are always wanting, and I took one to give the…

Well I went to the vet today, I didn't sleep when I got out of work at 3 am so I could take her bright and early to make sure the vet would see us since I didn't have an appointment. We got there and we had to wait a little while but he took us in. We have to put a muzzle on her because she holds grudges... lol. He felt both her legs, looked at her paws, moved her legs in a billion circles, and she showed no sign of pain. He said she was very nervous and tensed up all her muscles so he really…

Figures the only time that I ever need them, they're closed. They were closed on the Saturday my cat's lung collapsed, and today, on a MONDAY, they're closed?! Lola is limping, with her back right leg. I don't know how it happened. We were playing in the yard chasing each other around, we came inside, she took a nap and when she woke up she didn't want to put pressure on it. I thought it may have been asleep but it's definitely not. I waited a while to make sure. I was touching her leg and back…

My family, Maddie, and I went boating on Lake Michigan and Bear Lake yesterday and Maddie got to swim for the first time. We had tried to get her to swim last summer, but she had sunk like a little stone - she didn't even attemt to paddle! Yesterday, however, was different. It turns out Maddie's a good little swimmer! First we started by me holding her in the water. It was so cute - she not only kicker her back feet in the water, but also her front feet that were up in the air! Knowing she…

Camber can be strange, sometimes.
The other day, I was in the kitchen, doing kitchen-y things, talking with my BF, Moses, about whatever, and Cam comes in, walks towards me, and as she's walking past my legs, she licked me twice and kept going. It was a drive-by lick.
Weird little dog...

Here's a link below to some photos I took of Mac today. I see that MyCorgi.com has a photo section as well so I'll choose my favorites to post there in the future.

Finaly the day is near! I talked to the breeder today and I will be able to pick my pup up on August 11th, the day I get back from my buddies wedding. I'm so glad that he is almost ready to come home!

Well what can I say... Reese has been a wonderful puppy! She is very loving, nice, social, spunky, and hilarious. On Thursday, July 31st, was the first day Reese finally joined Matt and I. She was a very good girl in the car. Of course she was very curious and trying to explore my car. We finally arrived to her temporary home, since our moving situation was behind schedule. She seemed to be happy with her toys, crate, and overall atmosphere. I was very surprised that she was very quick to catch…

It's been a whirlwind adventure for Kuma these past two months. He's finally turned four months, received his last series of shots and found love! He's fallen in love (lust?) with a friend's French Bulldog (male mind you)... and won't leave the poor thing alone. At least the bulldog is tolerant of Kuma as he's young and only a year old. Oh well - two months and he loses his baby making abilities and hopefully it'll help curb some hormonal activity.
We also discovered that he's a…

I wanted to post an update to all of you who had been so supportive when Corky had died. I have had an extremely busy couple of months and no internet (which was pretty difficult!) since I had moved into a new apartment and had been trying to catch up with everything. I found a breeder in Nebraska and bought a 10 week old tri-colored corgi. She is a mini (will be about 15 lbs) and her name is Calli. Now she is about 4.5 months old and is an absolute doll! It was the best thing for me to do even…

I don't need to quantify how much in love we all are with our corgi's, but Camber did something yesterday that pushed her cuteness into the stratosphere.
First off, Cam has only barked only 3 times. I've been told that we are lucky. She does the sort of "huffing" thing when we play outside, but never any full-on yapping. Well, yesterday morning, we were puttering around, doing our morning thing, and I decided to give Cam a little treat and put her on the bed. Well, I did (and here's…

Didi has started a new bizarre behavior. If I don't pay attention to her when she eats, she'll pick out the nommie bits and leave all the plain adult food kibble (i've started mixing it with her puppy food) in a neat pile next to her bowl.
If I watch her and she starts to place it, I say "ahah!" and she looks at me in surprise and chews it up and eats it.
I'm pretty sure that she thinks I'm stupid or something.... I may be compared to a corgi.

Le-Le is our 2 year old cardigan corgi who we got at the very end of Feb just after her second birthday. After the passing of our beloved beagle, Buster in Jan, we wanted another dog but a puppy was too much for our traveling life. We had two beagles, Buster and Max for almost 14 years and loved the fun, playful qualities of the beagle, but I was interested in having a dog that would come when I called and not go on the 'hunt' at every smell. My grandparents had a Pembroke Corgi when I was…

Up at Fred Meyer the other day I found Furminators on sale. It was only 5 dollars off, but I couldn't leave without one. I was amazed by it when I got home brushing both Leon and Simon. Expected it, but it still hella surprised me all the same. My mom has a ShedEnder, I've seen it at work as well as used it myself. I think that's what caused the shock. The Furminator worked so much better! Not to mention that it comes in more than one size, so if you have a animal bigger than a cat, you don't…
