I never knew how stressful rescuing a Corgi could be. . .but the wait was well worth it. . . .
On Jan 8th, my friend Nancy sent me a text saying that her hairdresser had a friend who was at the Pasadena Animal Shelter and she saw a Corgi there.
Nancy and I have talked for some time about how much I love my Corgis and how I wish I could get another one. She suggested that if I…

A farmer near my home had a little for sale. I went to the grocery store to see if anyone posted and ads for snow removal and there it was, like a shining star, "Pembroke Welsh Corgi Puppies for Sale." I called the number, got the info, and now, I am home with my little "bread loaf." His name is Reznor Arthur Herbert Fonzarelli Kouneski. My Mom calls him, Rez for short.
The poor little guy is all pooped out and sleeping in his crate. My Black Lab, Jack, kissed him to death and shared…

http://www.smilingblueskies.comWhile struggling to overcome the sadness and loss Allan and I have experienced with the recent death of our wonderful little Pembroke, Yardley from a rare form of lymphosarcoma, we have in the process been connected to a great resource called the Smiling Blue Skies Cancer Fund, created by Suzi Beber after the death of her beloved Golden Retriever Blues Man in 2001. Our dear friends Cheryl and Archie, knowing…

Back in November when Corgi Aid ran their online auction I was fortunate enough to bid and win a custom painting of our two corgis by Disney Animator Joe Hale. Yesterday the painting arrived! And are we so happy and proud!!! Here it is!! Can't wait to get it framed and up on our wall!! Of course.. the copy right mark isn't on the original! : )…

I have Simon, a beautifully bred 8 year old corgi boy who is ready for his new home. He is the fluffiest of the fluffs and carries a gorgeous coat. He was given up by a familly who had a toddler and Simon growls at him. A really neat boy, very pretty, up to date on everything and neutered. You can see his picture at:

He gets along well…

I can't believe it! When it snowed the first time, I was happy with the little half inch that we got. This time we got about 6 inches!! It was so great! I haven't seen snow like that since I was little, and even that was only once. Yumi was the first to go out and explore since she had to use the bathroom. She bolted out the door as always only to stop short at the grass, amazed at the winter wonderland spread before her! She looked at me for approval then dashed out into the snow, bouncing…

The writer of the playwright pretty much told me that Wynstan and I will be getting the part. His play is about various American artists sitting as a discussion panel debating on how badly Neo-American art is becoming. It is a pretty funny one act play. I will be Norman Rockwell and the writer/director said that Wynstan's presence asserts Rockwell's attention to the American family and the constant theme of dogs in his body of works/
I also received some equally excellent news. It…

Just a little list of things that my dogs do that always makes me smile.
1. I love when they lay on the rug in the bathroom when I'm showering.
2. I love how they grunt when I disturb them when they're sleeping.
3. I love that they think that every time I walk into the kitchen, I'm going to feed them.
4. I love when I tell them no and they make that noise…

I have a tri-fluffy who really does not shed that much at all. Now, I also have a non-fluffy who is Mr. Shedder!!! I have to vacuum sometimes 2-3 times a day. Has anyone used the furminator shedding tool on a corgi?

Tuesday night we had our 1st class. Chloe seemed to pick it right up, me I need to practice.
The instructor has us reward with food. She recommends hot dogs.
Chloe is not food agressive with us, but with other dogs around she can be quite competive and not nice to her classmates.
How do you get the dog to not be food agressive to other dogs??

I know I'm a little bit early but I'm sure I will probably be busy this weekend and not on the computer. So is anyone doing anything special for Valentines Day?
Finn is staying with my Mom as of last night and we will pick him up Friday night. I'm so excited to get him back. I didn't think I'd miss him so soon but I do. I just hope he's not overfed or limping when we pick him up. Our apartment complex is doing property inspections…

The university I am attending is featuring some original one act plays from students who are earning their Master of Fine Arts, and one of the plays is looking for a wild puppy. Wynstan and I will be going that way to audition for the part. Basically, he will just have to FRAP, which shouldn't hard for him to do around new people.
We go in for auditions at 5 pm and will not know if we got the part until Monday or Tuesday

It was time to update Sammie's photo. He's now 8 mos. old and is just a delight! Although the ball in the photo says 'BALLS', we had him neutered last month. We have lots of snow here in Nebraska and Sammie loves it. His favorite toys are balls and his stuffed weiner dog (sans squeaker). We're anxiously awaiting Spring & Summer, as we plan to get him a small swimming pool.

My Corgi is about 10 or 11 and she licks constantly. She is always licking my hardwood floors, the glass on the fireplace and the bricks in front. It's almost like a nervous habit. She licks every minute that she's awake. I've tried to find a reason and a solution, but I'm stumped.

Does anyone know of anyone breeding or selling any corgi pups? It's been 6 mos since I lost my beloved Scout...and his brother Tucker would love some company.

Pooka is 1 year, 4 months and has started barking in a bad way. She has also become more territorial and liable to pick fights with the anti-social husky that lives with us [
discussed here].
Barking:we have had to close all our blinds because if not, she just stares outside and waits for any broach on her territory and barks like mad. The more you yell, the more she barks. She…

Jordan and Teagen came to the joint decision today, probaly somewhere in the hallway, that Mom doesn't respond properly to cute wooki noises as a wake up call anymore. So their little corgi brains came up with the idea of a full frontal attack. But unknown to them I was awake and saw them coming even though I didn't respond in time so still had to suffer pain. They both came slinking in through the door very quiet with ears laid back, put their paws over the edge of the bed and peeked(I closed…

Pepper has been afraid of inatimate objects as long as
I can remember. Not terrified, but skittish. For example if I pick up a kleenex box and show it too him he runs. He is also apprehensive about coming in the back door like he thinks we are going to slam it on him! We got him from a wonderful family who bread their own female. I cannot imagine this dog had ANY trauma in his puppy life with them. The family's son actually wanted to keep him and was sad… Continue
