I just read The Private World of Tasha Tudor. She died recently-God rest her soul. Here's some of what she said about corgis in her book.
"There is no other dog that can compare to a corgi. They're the epitome of beauty............They're such characters-a mixture of a dog and a cat, I think. They especially don't like to be scolded in public. They talk back; they growl and show their teeth and pretend they're frightfully savage. However, they never criticize. You're always beautiful…

Sorry I haven't been around for awhile. There has been a lot going on at home. Now things have slowed down. I took some pictures of Desi on Sunday. She makes a great model. I added them to my slide show.
Desi got spayed on tuesday. Poor thing was miserable for 2 days. Today she is acting like I am abusing her by not letting her run outside and play. She keeps giving me her sad puppy dog eyes. She's bored out of her mind. I'm trying to not give her to many treats as she is getting way…

Who's corgi has the natural herding instinct and who's doesn't? Mine both do-Einstein more than Daisy. We never had to train them but they both will chase circles around us if we go running in the back yard. Einstein gets a crazy look in his eyes and starts this weird bark/growl while he chases our feet with his lazer like focus. He also nips heels and has been known to bite ankles. Daisy goes in circles barking VERY loudly the entire time and tends to stop right in front of you to make you…

Well I have to begin w/that Sian, my dear angel, chewed up another slipper of mine. Brand new pair too! I wondered why she was cuddly w/me that morning, she didn't want me to look over the side of the bed to find the remains of a slipper scattered array.
As I pick up the slipper all the other Corgis high tail it to the corner, they all know all to well thats a NO NO.
Later that day we are sitting at the dinner table to see Meagan pushing my tennis shoe across the floor…

Although he's not writing about a Corgi, his column is so moving, I thought I would share it. It's from the 3/31 New York Times:

A Bit short, maybe one of those "you had to be there" moments....
While I was getting ready for the day, I noticed how quiet Bonnie was being. Foolishly I thought oh how nice, she's being such a good girl this morning! I still didn't think anything was out of the ordinary when I hear scratching in the cat box (near the basement stairs in the kitchen)... Until I decide to go get some coffee from the kitchen... There was Bonnie literally IN the cat box! All I could do was ask why- why?! Of…

The PM gave Mr Obama a jokey tip about his imminent meeting with the Queen, saying: “Watch for the corgis.”
...I thought that was cute! I found it on the sun.co.uk :)

My corgi, Zoe, came into my life at the same time my granddaughter did. So I call Zoe "Nanny dog" and it has worked out very well. For example, when my granddaughter napped I threw the ball through the door and into the yard for Zoe to get exercise. She always was very gentle with the baby and now that said granddaughter is three the relationship is solid. Into the picture come my strapping beautiful grandson! Now he is a corker! Count it up to the boy genes or whatever. Now there is a crying…

We just adopted a corgi/husky mix, she is 10 weeks old and has incredibly large paws. Is this a characteristic of corgis or is she just going to be large?

I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced an allergic reaction (with their corgi's) to pork? A couple of months after we got Violet, I fed a small piece of a ham sandwich - yes I know not the best thing for her, but I'm an easy touch when it comes to begging. This was after she had bacon and sausage on the weekends for a couple of months prior (did I mention I'm an easy touch?).
Anyway, she started acting like she needed to have a bowl movement but did not produce anything.…

Surprise! Corgis are my favorites and they know it!!!
Pit bulls are not only the scariest most deadly breed but are also my least favorite. Also pretty much any dangerous "bully" breed. I live in San Antonio and you hear about pit bull deaths a lot. A couple days ago a 7 month old adorable baby boy was killed. Terrible tragic stuff. A 9 year old girl from our church was attacked a couple years back by a couple of pits that got loose from their owner and ripped half her face off going…

Since Pooka has been re-allowed in the backyard, she'll stop all the time (in the middle of fetching) to eat grass and it upsets me, cuz... if it was the pesticide that caused the swelling, eating it is DEFINITELY worse than just sniffing it. But, she hasn't had a single reaction, so I guess the rain washed it all away into the soil, or the grass is just growing so fast, and its so tasty, she wants to eat it. (the only reason I've heard for eating grass is if they need to vomit? what are some…

Well I started going a a new vet when I got Tucker and I have gotten to know everyone in the office in just over a week because I have been there or been on the phone with them almost every day!
Tucker had his meet the vet appt last monday - they said he is in great shape, very healthy and a tad underweight. (He is 28 lbs but for his frame he is a bit underweight) We had all the blood tests done and everything came back negative. He went home wtih a deworming pill (just in case) and…

Well, last night was my first night in my very first obedience class. No dog last night. As I sat there with this large group of people and listened to their stories, I realized I was a little ahead of the game with my little guy. He has some basic obedience training that I did when he was a pup, so he's not starting fresh like many of the puppies/dogs will be in our class.
I was the only one there with the goal of competing in obedience. I was hoping to meet up with someone else…

Hello everyone,
Since Monday Wyatt has been acting strange. He wont get next to us, he is constantly pacing around the house, wont play, wont bark at the neighbors and wont let us pick him up. The one time I did pick him up he cried when I touched his chest. He is eating human food only. So we brought him to the emergency clinic last night and they tried to help us. But they couldn't get him muzzled because he does not understand that we only want to help him. So they kind of checked him…
