Well, time for an update. I moved last Saturday for my internship this summer. The trip was 160 miles one way and of course, on my way down, the fuel pump went out on my truck, and they found a bad wheel bearing = $1800.00 - There goes a good chunk of change.
So I'm all settled in now. The new apartment isn't bad, it'll work for 3 months. The job is pretty good, and the people are lots of fun! As for the important part - Riley is doing great! I continue to be amazed with him. He's…

I had to brag a little guys! First off, Grover has actually been doing a great job with potty training. He has had maybe 6 accidents in the house since we got him at 10 weeks old, he's now 16 weeks old. So that's awesome! And really only two of those accidents were full on, "here I go, I'm peeing" accidents, the others were "I'm so excited! I'm peeing!!" accidents.
But through it all, he's really just been trip trained. We take him out really frequently, especially since I'm having some…

Agility class last night was hysterical. Dudley is in Beginning Sequencing and in the class progression we're in, this is the first class with full size contacts. Beginning Contacts has half size equipment. Dudley did very well in Beginning Contacts and loves the baby equipment, but every time we've presented him with the full size equipment he's baulked so we didn't press him. But now the time has come to try to get up and over the big boy equipment. First up, the A frame.
He…

Its ridiculous hot lately, and I feel so bad for Kaijuu! he keeps panting hectically because of the weather, He is indoors all day long, and its much cooler inside than outside. I try to make him drink more water to cool down, but he doesn't understand ..

Does anyone want to make a guess as to when George's ears will stand up? He was born on February 3, 2008, and his ears are still floppy. They are to the stage where they look like bat wings, but they are still down. I got Rosie at ten weeks and she had one ear up and one ear down. By the time she was fourteen weeks old both of her ears were up. He looks really cute with them kind of at half staff. I should have some pictures to share soon.

So, I had a bath today......... First, my people tried to give it to me in the bathtub. Well, I would have NO part of that. So, they tricked me into going outside and tying me up to bathe me. Once they started, it wasn't so bad. They even let me roll in the grass after! I look quite fluffy and handsome now, so I guess it was worth it. They better not try it again for awhile, though. There's only so much a guy can take!

So I have been starting to do some research on breeding Corgi's. Even though I won't be able to for a few more years, I can't wait. I would like to breed only tri-colors and I think I will have to keep all the puppies I get! I love spending time with Fudge and Cubbie and think it would just be so great to have a litter of little puppies running around.

Last night we had a pretty good thunderstorm going. Poor Skittles! She was panting like CRAZY, which is how she shows that she's nervous. She hid under my covers for a while (until I went to sleep). When I woke up, the storm had passed, and she was checking on me to see if I was awake.

Griffen and Oakley continue to be good buds. I do, however, have a few questions about puppy behavior.
-Griffen is considerably more boisterous than Oakley was. How can I encourage him to be less talkative? I don't mind some barking and I know corgis can be a bit barky but his is a bit excessive.
-We go to the park on base twice a day. I let him and Oakley run off leash (only if no one is around). They run for about 20 minutes each time. Griffen is a bit more relaxed than Oakley is…

The latest word on Toby is that the owner who surrendered him is regretting her decision. He may be going back to her instead up being placed for adoption.
It's true what they say, you don't know what you got til it's gone. Hopefully being separated from him will inspire the owner to work with him instead of throwing him away.
We shall see.

So, I took Bella with me to Pet Smart for the first time today and here's how it went... One lady that worked there came over to see Bella and asked if she was my first corgi (yes) and if I knew anything about the breed (now I'm sure there are people that would buy a dog without knowing anything about it but I was a little insulted as I've been researching them for over a year--but she didn't know that) She then asked if she started herding things yet (told her not too much), asked if I had her…

When my feet aren't killing me (plantar faciitis is a horrible thing), my monkeys are learning to herd sheep in Riverside.
I'd love to see more corgis come out to participate. The trainer, Doug, has a spot on meetup.com under SoCal Stockdog Herding. It's alot of fun to see the kids doing what they were bred to do. It's a great energy outlet for them.
I'm going to try to take my Triad to the HB dog park this Sunday (5/18/08). Getting there from Moreno Valley by 10am when the…

Hi folks.
I am a member of pwccsc.org, a southern CA corgi club which also operates a corgi rescue.
I have been notified that there is a 12-week old male pem pup currently in fosterage that will need a permanent home.
If interested, please visit pwccsc.org and fill out the adoption application. The pups name is Toby.
You can also email me directly at corgithunder@aim.com for a few pics of the little scamp.
Toby isn't the only furr-kid in need of a home. We…

Ginny graduated from Basic Obedience 1 tonight. She is a wonderful student. It's amazing how attentive and perfect she is in class. (I wish she was as good at home!). Her teacher says she is ready to move on to Obedience 2 or even agility. She's a good girl. We've mastered sit, down, stay, roll over, settle and wait, and we're still working on leave it, shake, and heel. So, hats off to Ginny! Way to go, kiddo!…

Mei broke her nail on Friday and I didn't realize it until today. =(
It bled on Friday, but I just thought that she got cut by the metal door frame. It started bleeding again today, so I looked closer and it was a broken nail. She has an e-collar on right now, but she can stick lick her paw. I guess it's not being of much use. Hopefully it'll heal fine. ^^;;
Btw, vet bill was $200.

Skittles's back legs quiver some of the time. It's usually after she's become really excited, so I thought it was her way of wagging her non-existant tail. But, I saw a video on youtube of a corgi having a seizure, and now I'm worried that it might be something neurological.
Have y'all experienced this with your dogs? Information/advice?

After very hard 4 days of thinking I decided to take the active and maybe a bit dominant pup. I already had two dogs and I think I can handle a dominant youngster. I'm planning to do some sports and a lot of obedience with my dog, so I need the active one. Here's a pic the breeder sent me. I was thinking about the calm pup on the left, but the guy with his both paws in the food bowl won it (they're 6 weeks in the pic).
I'll take the…

Be haughty all you want
I am not fased by your ways
Everywhere I go I see your twin
But do you see anyone that looks like me?
My ears perfect isosceles triangles
I bleach my chest every night
Am I a fox?
Vulpes? You say.
WRONG!
Oh lady, (that is what they call you)
Your breath stinks of ALPO
I will blog all day.
Keep looking out your window.
Keep wishing
Keep dreaming
Keep…
