Ordered a Buckle Martingale Collar

I just ordered a buckle martingale collar for my puppy that is coming home next week. I already have a regular martingale that I was going to use for her, even though I don't like that I would have to slip it over her head and adjust it every time I am going to have to take her outside. From my understanding, the buckle martingales work just the same as the regular, but just have the added convenience of buckling on like a normal collar.

I know a lot of people here swear by…

Paranoia or???

I have noticed since last Wednesday when we had to evacuate because of the pending bushfires I have noticed that Oscar & Sam seem to be different?. They seem to be very clingy and stick by you wont let you out of their sight!. Maybe it's nothing or as I put in my post title Paranoia or??. I know animals sense things but do I have anything to worry about??

Eight days after our first trial- meet Corizma Better Together CD!

Be warned: There's A LOT of bragging in this thread!

Eight days ago, we had our VERY FIRST trial in AKC obedience and we got second place.  This weekend, we had two trials to attend and placed second in each one, earning all three legs of our Companion Dog title. Waffle passed his Therapy Dog International test just two days before his first…

Corgi Costume Parade

It was time for our corgi costume parade around Green Lake in Seattle, on Saturday, October 26.  We had a record turnout.  Over 130 people and too many corgis to county.  This event grows in size every year and is highly anticipated.  We even have our own news reporter that comes out to cover our events.…

Changing food from commercial to homemade

I can't go on feeding my Corgis any food that I can buy in the store without thinking that I might be putting them at risk. I need a clear understanding of exactly I can make in my home with human grade food that will be the best for my dogs. Everything I read is sketchy and the percentages of protein and carbs varies too much to be exact.

I am committed to finding a better way and will not continue to trust these "bags of food" with my dogs lives.

Does anyone have any knowledge… Continue

1 more week until puppy comes home!

My boyfriend and I will be bringing home our male PWC puppy next Saturday, and we cannot contain our excitement!  He'll be 11 weeks old, and we've decided to name him Casey after my boyfriend's beloved old family dog.  I feel like we've been waiting forever for him since we've been seriously talking about getting one for over a year now.  However, acquiring Casey came into fruition fairly quickly as we only found out last week that we were bringing him home.

We initially…

Certifect..Has Anyone Heard Of This?

It's some kind of flea and tick stuff.  I just heard from a good friend that she used it on her dockie and the pup is now in the hospital.  It's a full grown dog, right dosage was used.  Dog started staggering, ice cold, low respiration...not good at all.  I researched it because I have never heard of it and the many many of the reviews were bad.  A number of dogs have died from it.  One review I read was from a vet.

Anyone have any experience with it?

A Day at the Vet.

So Boba went to the vet today and we are starting his shots from scratch since we can't find the paperwork on his past shots from the breeder and he did exceptionally well because he kept his face in my bag of treats which I kept forgetting was on my hip. Unfortunately the vet told us there is a high probability his balls wont descend because they feel stuck in his groin which means for a more invasive surgery. Also she checked for hernias which she did not feel a hernia but she felt a hole…

Hello! Intro (Kinda) and Vent About San Francisco, Hotels, and my Service Dog

Hello!

Ah, kinda sad that my first blog post is about a touchy issue, but I am just so livid right now, I need a safe place to let out my thoughts.

I should start with basics I guess. I'm 29 years old and my husband and I live in San Jose, California. I'm originally from Puerto Rico, and moved to San Jose for work at 27. My husband is from Indiana. I met my husband at work, and we recently got married. I've had a number of various health issues all my life, and…
