The Watching, A Corgi Puppy's Christmas Surprise

This book is CorgiAid's new Christmas story for 2010! Some of you may remember the one that was produced last year and it was very successful, for which we are grateful. I am hoping that there is still time to order the book in time for Christmas for you all. If you go to www.corgiaid.org and look for the tab "The Watching" you can still order it and last year's story if you have not seen it yet. I am the author and I think this year's story is even…

LeeLoo

LeeLoo is our little miracle. We have been trying to purchase a house in Newburgh for about a month. Back and forth contract negotiations and about giving up on the house have stretched both my husband and I to our limits. But on the day we were to begin signing paper work for the house, we received an e-mail from the Ohio Valley Corgi rescue stating that they had found us a dog. She was 4, over weight, and named Olga.…

Thieves! Not just slippers- they have stolen my husband's wallet.

So...instead of safely up on the dresser, my husband made the mistake of placing his wallet on the coffee table after doing some online Christmas shopping on Friday. Yesterday, the wallet was gone. We spent ALL day tearing the house apart looking for it. Our only thought now is that the little stinkers ran off with it. It was a nice day on Friday and they were in and out into the back yard all day. It's a nice leather wallet- smells of alpha dog and probably is an excellent chew. Will we…

Kali got spayed on Thursday. Everything went well and we are now in the recovery process. Thursday and Friday she was quiet and slept a lot. Today is a different story - she seems back to her happy energetic self! Trying really hard to keep her from jumping on things and running at full speed. Her stitches look good and there is no swelling but any hints on how to keep her quiet for as long as possible so she doesn't pull the stitches out. She has gotten used to the cone to keep her from…

The Nightmarish Doggy Photo Shoot Before Christmas

Spent a good two hours this morning trying to get a nice, respectable holiday photo of Jon and Dewi in front of the fireplace. [silence] With my point and shoot camera. [silence] Took about 70 photos. Not one decent photo in the bunch. Nope. In fact, it was like a two-hour obedience lesson gone horribly awry. (sit, stay, down, stay, sit, down, STAY!) I quit after this picture. …

Luna's Hunt for Approved Noms

I now have a destructive puppy on my hands. Whether through boredom, or sheer wanting to know if things taste good, she has been eating or munching on the the randomest things.

It started Monday with realizing that she can now reach the toilet paper roll. I had a long day, and unfortunately was only able to spend a short amount of time with her between work and…

Ollie The Pembroke

Hi Everyone,

I need a little help.

I recently rescued a PWC from a local shelter because he was in very poor condition and had flea scabs all over the tips of his ears. Unfortunately, my family is against me owning/supporting another pup in the house due to the excessive shedding and crowded space. At this point, I am fostering him and looking for suitable parents/owners to take him in and treat him the way he deserves to be treated.

Ollie is a…

Middleburg, VA Christmas Parade - Corgi Corps 2010

Just wanted to share these photos from last Saturday's parade in Middleburg, VA. Dewi's breeder took Dewi's mother (blue merle) and sister (black) (pictured below). (I'm hoping to make it in 2011!) There were 60+ corgis (Corgi Corps) all together!

Click below to see the photo gallery (go to pages 3-4, starts with photo #25).…

Animal Reaction to Human Sickness

I've been down for about 3 days with the flu. The kick your butt 103 fever kind of flu and the best distraction from it all has been watching the reaction of Bear and Goldy.

Having always been intrigued by the stories of dogs sniffing out cancer and sensing seizures, I noticed the following things while I've been sick:

1. The higher my fever got, the closer my corgis got. The best way to describe it is that it seemed like they were trying to pull…

Automatic laser toy

I just found a cool new toy. Does anyone own this toy and does it work well with your Corgi?
I am thinking about buying this from Amazon and ship it to Taiwan. So I want to make sure it is a good product.
BTW, here is a video…

Daisy's First Litter!!

Hey guys I was just wandering if anybody knows if corgi's are prone to having problems with delivering puppies. I've done tons of research and found many different answers about the same things. This being a corgi lover site I am sure I can find answers that come from experienced people. I am very anxious and nervous, I've raised lab puppies before but never small dogs. I have been checking her temp and it dropped yesterday to 98.2 and stayed there all I was expecting puppies… Continue

Puppy's First Christmas

I can not wait until my tri colored male pembroke corgi Darby has his first Christmas. He has his own stocking hanging up and will be patiently waiting for some puppy goodies from Santa. I am anxious to see his reaction to all the excitement of Christmas and his reaction to seeing a puppy toy filled stocking. it will be absolutely precious.

Getting Neutered

As some of you have already read, I got Winston neutered on Friday and have been experiencing some problems. Here's an update though. Thanks again for all the encouragement and advice guys, you don't know how helpful you all really are.

I took Winston back to our vet today and got him checked out. They said that his stitches were a little open and infected so he gave us a pill type of antibiotic to give Winston on top of the Amoxicillan. He's still having to endure the cone but he's… Continue

Check Up treats from Costco

On one of these snack discussions (that I can't find now) recently, someone recommended the Check-up treats/chew things from Costco. We got some on our next trip and for a time, as directed on the package, we were giving Tasha 1/2 of one every day.

Now we've discovered she is hiding them all over the house, in the sofa, a chair, behind things, etc. Has anyone else had this happen. We hope to keep her teeth healthy and at first she was eating them. Now she seems to know where…
