Disaster Hit ( Just ask Max)

I took Max for a

We were going down a well used path when Max saw something and tried to chase it, right off the path was cactus! Max ran right through it.Poor Baby! The way he cried people probally thought I was trying to kill him. I pick him up of course in the wrong place at first. Brought… Continue

Tilly's birthday!

Today it's my baby's birthday!
=D

She's officially two years old, and is still a big, chubby puppy.
Haha, I'm taking her to Petsmart today to pick out a new bed. She absolutely LOVES the car rides, and loves being a little social butterfly. Come on, how could you resist the cute corgi face? XD

Rhiannon is not comfortable...will it be tonight???

Rhiannon hasn't eaten since yesterday evening...she has gotten really uncomfortable and restless. I've taken her temp. and it goes down and then back up alittle but hasn't dropped. She is tearing newspaper up and panting off and on. I think the pups are moving lining up but she'll hold of for a day or so. She did this the last time too...had me staying up every night for almost a week. I've got the room all set up ready for when shes ready. I'd like to see her hold off a couple more days though… Continue

Day at the Dog Park

Owen had his first encounter with an agressive dog at the dog park yesterday. It was so scary. She was another puppy (boxer?) and had been bossy with other dogs (barking until a great dane puppy laid down) but nothing that would give me the idea I should take my dog out. Owen was digging in the dirt and all of a sudden she came running full speed at him much to everyone's shock and wrestled him to the ground and was pretty much on top of him roughing him up. She was growling and being mean. I… Continue

The Temple of Boom #5 - Watchu talkin' 'bout, Willis!

I don't want you all to think that I'm crazy. However, I will not deny that at times I can be awfully weird and it dawned on me, a few months back, that prior to acquiring Boomer, I used to talk to myself while wandering around the apartment. They weren't long, drawn-out conversations or anything, and I'm not schizophrenic, but sometimes it was good to talk something out for it to make sense, along the lines of "Should I wear that?" or "What will my co-workers say if I show up wearing that?"… Continue

Taz

Heard from the breeder today and found out that our little guy has been started on soft food. And is a weany. LOL Poor guy he is the only boy with two sisters, like he had a chance. We voted last night and decided that his name is Taz. Sounds like it may be one of those cases where the name is the total opposite of the dog. But oh well. The name went on the stocking so it is offical now. Hopefully we will get some pictures in the next day or two and finally get to see what he looks like. I… Continue

Gibson's First Thanksgiving / Collar Issue Solved

Well, we're finally back from a long Thanksgiving weekend. My little family went to my parents on Thursday (hour and a half drive), stayed there a few days and then traveled down to my husband's aunt's house on Saturday (2 hour drive) for his family's Thanksgiving. Gibson faired pretty well the whole time, but I did learn that he gets overwhelmed by loud noises and lots of people pretty easily. I guess he's used to just hanging out w/mom and dad at home. He also has a hard time taking a nap at… Continue

Bark Park

Lucy and I have been members of our local Bark Park since it opened last spring. It has been almost 3 months since we have run into another dog. Every time we go there is no one in sight. I can't figure out if we are going at the wrong times or if dog parks are only busy when it's nice out? It's kind of sad. Lucy and I will jog the perimeter but the drive out there just isn't worth it anymore. The park district is most likely going to ask us to renew in the spring but I don't know if it's a… Continue

News but no Pics

So, I just got word from my breeder that we are still on for next Saturday, and I'm so excited that I could pop! She wasn't able to send us photos, since they were with family last week and over the weekend. I got my corgi fix anyway, since my cousin's friend has an adorable 4-year old corgi named CJ, which spent Thanksgiving at our house. I gave him all sorts of love. By Friday, he would run over to me and sit down so I could scratch his neck when my brother's rottweiler puppy would get… Continue

Sidney and the Sheep herding trial

Today we took Sidney out to have an instinct test for herding sheep. We were really excited and curious to see if Sid would know what to once he got into that pen with creatures he had never seen before in his life.

My daughter got into the pen with Sid and three sheep. That's her in the video. After Sid took a few moments to take in the glorious smells that were there. he actually took off after those sheep! He'd bring one back when it broke off from the other two, and took the… Continue

Misu has departed this world

My beloved Tiramisu Latte has departed this world . . . Two weeks ago she was attacked and killed by a bobcat in our backyard when she went out to go potty before bed. Misu was my constant companion - I called her my daughter - and I miss her so much. I am working on her own website www.PrincessMisu.com which will be up soon . . .

Attached is a link to her memorial page - http://rainbowsbridge.com/residents/THBTI001/Resident.htm.

I now say a prayer when I awake each day, a… Continue

Ichigo..GO GO

We've had Nana for 2 months and thought she needed a friend to keep her company during the day when we were at work. We love corgis so we wanted another one. We decided that we would try to find a male around her age. Checked with the Corgi rescues and various pet finders. We even checked Craig's list and other online classifieds...jackpot! A breeder in Sanford had put an ad in the classifieds for puppies but at the bottom of the ad made mention of having a male corgi free to a good home. We… Continue

Nana's story

My husband is very busy with work and his hobby ( playing guitar or bass for various groups). This often meant that I would be home alone several nights of the week. Kind of lonely. So I kept nagging that I wanted a dog to keep me company. Unfortunately, the place we lived wouldn't allow pets so my husband promised we would get one as soon as we lived somewhere that allowed pets or we bought our own home. Three years later, the location was right...and I held Patrick to his promise. We… Continue

SCHOOL!

We're going to school today. You may remember we tried last week and clas s was canceled. So here we are another Saturday. Hope everything goes well. Max needs it! I wish the little one would grow. It always scares me when I take him out early in the morning and the owls are out. People out here have lost dogs (small ones) to them. Our next door neighbors had an out door cat when they moved in. We explained about the owls and a about a week later no more cat.We also have coyotes if you let your… Continue

Portable Pet Carrier

I am looking for a portable pet carrier for my Bella, but Im not sure what size would be perfect for a corgi.

Obviously it needs to be big enough for her once she is fully grown.

Does anyone here have a portable pet carrier?

What size is best?

I found this online, and the size is 20"(L) x 14"(W) x 16"(H). Would this be ok for a corgi?…

Happy Thanksgiving..Zelda's in heat

Any tips for me to help with Zelda's first heat? The pet store is closed due to the holiday so I picked up some baby diapers but she's not having it. Any tips or ideas on what I can expect would be great! Thanks

Myles November Update

Myles is nearly back to himself. He has slowed down, due to arthritis. He had additional testing done and it was determined that his 'lame" hind legs likely came from the groomer. the day before he work up lame- my husband took him to the groomer. When my husband picked him up-he saw him fall off the table but he appeared fine at that time so he did not make a big deal out of it.

His additional blood work indicates kidney failure and not one of the diseases. (Addisons or whipworms). He is… Continue
