After a few months of searching for the right breeder who was going to have a litter at the right time... I was referred to Molly Forbes of Keepsake Corgis. Let's just say I am one lucky corgi owner to be. Molly is great and super knowledgeable about all things corgis. I am so thankful to have her as my breeder!
Puppies are due at the end of this week. The litter will be all tricolors and at least some fluffies.
Below is a picture of the two beautiful corgis…

Gromit and I and Debbie headed off to the big dog show in Scottsdale today. Gromit isn't a show dog but like the ordinary fellow who has friends that are show people, Gromit's brother Night was being shown, and we also heard from MyCorgi members Mike and Debbie Burk that they would be showing Hank this weekend. A chance to visit with Gromit's breeder, Jean York, and to meet Mike & Debbie & Hank wasn't to be…

Yesterday I took the corgis to a local schooling show. I was really proud of them. Normally, I only take one or the other. This was the second time I've taken them both to a show. For the most part, they were very quiet. I took their dog beds with me so they had an option to lay down. The walked really well on their leashes and they also interacted well with the other dogs. A friend brought her her pitbull that she just adopted from the pound. She was really quiet, and again the corgis were…

1. My corgis will NEVER blow their coat at the same time. This would make my life entirely too easy. Instead, Bear will shed now, for the next three weeks, THEN Goldy will begin her molting. MUCH better to drag it out over two months.
2. Although raised in my home, Goldy will forever be an outside dog. She goes outside to lay in the grass/snow/mud whenever she can. Today I hadn't heard from her in a bit and went to check on her...she had made herself a little bed in…

This toy was mocking her, she felt the need to to de-stuff it. OK thats her story and she is sticking to it. Have a great day!

Does anyone with 2+ Corgi's recognize this scenario?
Pet, Snack, Toss a toy Play, Repeat.... My hands are covered in shed fur, my arm is tired and my Corgis are full, or should be. And yet they want more.

Ater having extensive testing, a MRI scan showed she had a muscle problem of a type usually seen in giant breeds. We were told that she should no longer have long walks, jump around or run up and down steps.
The vets told us she should not wear any collar or harness which would place any strain on her neck and shoulder so I am asking if any one knows of a corgi friendly harness which doesnot place any strain or pressure on the neck or shoulders.
I would also appreciate any…

I just found out that our local MN Humane Society is holding their annual Walk for Animals on April 30, 2011. Team CorgiPals (aka me and Dexter) has signed up to participate, but I need your help to raise money for this cause. I've previously adopted two wonderful cats from this location, and actually had to surrender a third that I had…

Tammey told me that I must post this photo as a WHERE'S BEAR. I argued that know one would ever know this location! But she said "Hey some of the MyCorgiers might have this location on thier car's license plate."
I should know better than to argue with…

Time for an update!
Isabella started her first, official training class on Monday. This is the basic, beginning class...What fun! While I've heard of clicker training before, I didn't really know how it works. So neat. It's amazing to me that what I thought was dog training - ask dog to do something, dog does it, give reward - is not at all "where it's at"! To simply wait for dog to do what you want, click, then reward is so different, yet so effective! Our first…

So Kiba got a bath on Monday, and while I was spraying his chest, he started crying. I picked him up to see what was wrong and on his chest was about 4 different pretty nice cuts. I finished his bath as quickly as possible and made sure to be extra gentle around his chest. We then rushed over to a local pet supply store near me and picked up some powder antiseptic and made sure to cover all of the sores. He wasn't really happy with it, but at least it did was it was suppose to do. I told my…

Today is the day, finally get to have a clean bill of health for the state of VA.
I made the appointment Tuesday, those corgi ears must have been working overtime. Went looking for her paperwork, I found a peice of the folder and some random other pieces of what's left of it, that brat must have over heard the coversation and said " I'll get him good, just chew up the paperwork, shot records and AKC Certificate then he can't take me"....
Anyways I confirmed that she is going…
