Puppy Pees by Mental Telepathy!

How on earth does she DO that?

This little dog can lay down a puddle without ever being in the vicinity of the puddle! Don't believe me, do ya? It's trooooo!

LOL! Admittedly, even though she was locked up with me and Cassie in the office, I got distracted trying to register the ISBN and copyright for a new book. The Copyright Office, in…

Dumbest Dog Owner I've Ever Met

There's a great discussion going on in the forum about aggressive dogs and morons who go around with their dogs off-leash.

This is one of my hobby-horses. I can get myself worked up to quite a high pitch on the subject. Here's the story:

The last German shepherd I had was strongly dog-aversive. This, it develops, is a common trait among GerSheps, aggravated in Anna's case by a…

Ridiculously Cute!

So while I was up at the Petsmart picking up another bag of puppy chow, I scored a nice medium-sized rope toy for Pup. She already had one but it has these nylon ribbon things running through it, which look like bright green hazards to me. Wanted her to have one that was all cotton.

Apparently she did, too! She went absolutely BONKERS over the thing and decided to carry it everywhere she went, like Linus and his blanket. Even took it outside to pee. Back in: carried it over to…

Sam the Corgi

Hello everyone.  Sad news for one of our Corgis, who's name is Sam.   You may have seen her, with her sister Taz, in the Corgi calendar a couple years ago.  Sam has been diagnosed with Canine Lymphoma.  Her lymph nodes are enlarged throughout her body.  She is only 7 years old.  A biopsy will be preformed today.  Asking for some Corgi prayers.  Heartfelt Thank You!

Fluffies!

My Fluffy is now a little over 4 months old and weighs around 16 lbs.  I have read online Fluffies tend to be bigger/weigh more than regular Corgis.  Does anyone know about how large a Fluffy can get?  I saw a regular Corgi at the dog park the other day and she was 6 months old and the owner said she weighed 15 lbs.  My puppy looked about the same size if not bigger and she's 2 months younger.

Poor Teddy:(

A couple months ago I noticed that Teddy had some teeth that weren't good. Six I thought...so after the worst winter in 35 years here I made an appt. for his dental work. WELL...after examining his teeth the vet removed 16 teeth. Many of them due to the roots being exposed.

Last night I could tell Teddy was in pain but did get relief from his pain med in soft food off…

X-Pen: Whoever Mentioned It, THANKS!

So I'm pretty sure that it was here at MyCorgi.com where I came across someone's casual comment about an "x-pen."

Never heard of it, so looked it up in the Great Encyclopedia of the Ether (i.e., Google), saw pictures and pricing online, and thought...hey! That's just what the breeder was using to contain the pups in her living room! Not only that, but after yesterday's hilarious…

Bow Chika Wow Town

So for anyone that lives in the Rhode Island area there is a really awesome indoor dog park that also does day care and boarding in Warwick called Bow Chika Wow Town. This is their website http://www.bowchikawowtown.com/. We went there yesterday with our Penny and it was wonderful. Apart from keeping out the bitter cold and being a huge place for pups to run around with friends they have an amazing staff and cleaning system for accidents. You do… Continue

Team Low RIder rides again!

Long time members here know about Team Low Rider! This is our fifth year competing in Paws in the Park for the title of top fundraising team. Paws in the Park is an annual event to raise funds for the Escondido Humane Society. For years, the ladies who tend to the cats at the shelter had year after year run away with first place with no real competition. In 2009 I thought "why should the cat people have all the fun?" so I formed Team Low Rider. Finally some real competition! We actually…

Irresponsible pet owners...

The title should have more aptly read "Attacked by a pit bull", but that wouldn't have been fair to the dog since it was the owner who was a complete idiot.

Just need to vent after being traumatized at our local beach the other day by a completely out of control pit bull that I had to be forcibly pulled off Chewey's neck...  Talk about scary ;-/p>

I saw that the dog was a potential problem  as soon as it came down onto the beach.  Mostly because it was very…

Neighbors

So all my neighbors and their children are saying they are going to steal my corgi. I am kind of worried. It was funny when yesterday I was walking and I heard someone yelling from their car "I love your corgi!" as they zoomed pass me. One of my neighbors thinks I am a professional dog trainer because they can do basic commands without issue. She wants me to come over and train her dog. I keep telling her it's easy but she doesn't want to dedicate the time. I gave her the number of a real…

Honest Kitchen

For anyone that feeds Honest Kitchen, do you feed the same amount as you did dry?  I'm thinking about switching Foxy and got some samples but after the transition not sure how much to give her.  Of course they offer suggestions, but I always feel like it's more than they really need.  I was also thinking about possible feeding her kibble and honest kitchen.  Any thoughts on that?  Thanks.

Coat Things

I am worried because Boba seems to be losing the nice glossy black overcoat. He is only 6 months old and he looks all kinds of scraggly. the loss of the black has almost made him look like a brindle minus the sheen. I read online that some puppies can end up going black to sable as they grow but at six months I am pretty sure he should be out of his puppy fur shedding stage. He gets plenty of exercise lots of affection and is fed appropriately. He is never stressed and always happy. I think…

Lola and Hank!

A few months ago, my hubby and I decided to add to our Corgi family. Hank was born on 12/29/13 in Fredericktown, MO. We were anxious to see how Lola (our six year old female) would react to a new puppy. She's made amazing process over the last 15 months that she's been with us, even to the point of vocalizing a little bit (never thought I would meet a quiet Corgi!).  I can't wait for his ears to come up! Should be any day now!…
