Well Jasper and I just got back on Friday from our week-long trip to Florida! We had so much fun and Jasper was so awesome in the car for 9 hours! He mostly just slept or chewed on his bone and of course we made several pit stops for potty, water and treats! He got to meet his cousins Homer (Yorkie mix), Lilly (Coonhound) and Rory (Chihuahua) and they all had a pool party! (Although I think we enjoyed it more than the pups did!) He also got to check out the beach, but there were a lot of really…

Wow it has been a long time since I have been able to sit down and upload a few pictures to the site of my corgi babies! Kirby turned 1 in Feb, he is a good boy. He will start going to 4-H obiedance classes with my daughter this week. Kirby should be great, he passed K-9 kindergarden very easy.
Tucker is my old man, he has slowed down a little in his senior years. We need to get out and walk a little more now that the weather is nice. Over the winter Tucker put on a few…

I got to go on my first camping trip this weekend. We went to Lake Corpus Christi Texas State Park. There was a huge lake that I got to go swimming with my 2 brothers and the kids. I had an awsome time in the water. After swimming we went on a hike through the woods and I saw a rabbit and a deer. My brother Rocky wanted to chase it (he's a Siberian Husky). We saw all kinds of animals that I don't see at home. I can't wait until our next camping trip I had a blast. I'm told that our next camping…

I wanted to get some opinions on the best option for leaving an 8 month old home for an extended period of time. Finn is crate trained and he sleeps in his crate and also goes in his crate when we are leaving the house. Up until now, when we were at work he would go in the crate but I would come home on my break to take him out to go potty and stretch his legs since I'm at work for 8 1/2 hours every day. My schedule is changing and Jason found a job (yay) so he won't be home with Finn all day…

Well, Vic has finally talked me into it, we're getting Kiwi a little brother. *Sigh*, I don't know what I'm getting myself into, I'm nervous about how Kiwi will react, how much our lives will change having two of these crazy animals, but Vic has reassured me that everything will be fine...
Either way, we've emailed the breeder (about a month ago) and told her that we'd be interested in a male, tri, in early July, if at all possible. She emailed us back yesterday and told us that it's…

Recently every human in the house goes out into the big white truck (with me, of course) and start going on a long drive. they are going way out the road, and to places where the snow hasn't quite melted yet. I am very suspicious of this behavior, I hope my humans are healthy! I don't want to take them to the doctors! In other news, it's been about 60 degrees and actually sunny! Theres no rain! and boy, am I getting hot!

So, we did some preliminary corgi shopping today. We go to pick up junior next week when he'll be about 9 weeks old. We purchased all kind of dog necessities - shirts, jackets, booties - just kidding. Really we got the cool refilling water bowl, some toys, puppy shampoo, a collar and leash, a brush, a frisbee, etc. The big debate is what size crate is best - 30 or 36 inches? So, what do you all think? Advice needed. BTW, we still don't have a name for the little guy. We've been researching…

Nothing was wrong with Eddy! The doctor was really sweet -though the front desk ladies seemed to think he was pompous- and he gave us a free trial of Sentinel, informing us that he was just at a flea conference and that fleas around this area are developing a tolerance to Advantix. He said Eddy's red-rimmed eyes are probably caused by allergy season here in Portland, and the fact that he's always dragging his stubby corgi body through tall grass. Eddy still had some scabs leftover from his…

It has been a long sad ride to recovery. I look for Myles almost every day. I know he is in a better place, but it does not make things easier. Our Papillon, Madison, is having a really hard time. She still looks for him all the time. She is not resting well. She hops from daddy's lap to mommy's lap and back. Or turns circles trying to find something to do. Her appitite has decreaase. She surely misses her big brother... even those extra walks and visits to the spa (groomer) don't…

Milo received all of his heartworm treatments and is doing really well. I think he is actually starting to feel better because that boy can jump! I didn't even realize he could jump as high as my shoulders (I'm 5'4) and he definitely did when I let him out of his crate. I try my best to keep him calm but I do understand how he feels.
He has to go back in on the 15th for a health check to make sure the heartworms are gone--I guess? I hate his vet's office. I would rather use mine. I…

Thought I would share this website with you all. I am always looking for unusual dog things and this is pretty cool. You send in a photo of your dog and they make a charm for you that you can wear on a necklace, bracelet or put on a keychain. Its expensive but would make a great gift.

This is a bit late (she got her stitches out 4 days ago), but I wanted to share Pooka's story of getting spayed. Just wanted to give a real good detailed account for those about to go through the same thing cuz I still felt I didn't know what to expect.
I had bought Pooka one of those inflatable collars off ebay. Her neck was 13" around. The medium said 10"-13" and the large was 13"-whatever inches and you should always go with the bigger one, and we also figured we could use it as…

Some of you commented on my last post about if any of you have noticed any changes with Wellness food. This company is so awesome I just have to say that first of all. I called them and they told me that they have not had any formulation changes at all and don't plan to in the future. They are very satisified with their product and know that there is no room for change. Great to know. They also told me that since their food is all natural that the flavor, odor, and color will be different from…

Puppy Post natal depression?
Sounds like a load of hoohaa, but I am serious.
I think I may have a bout of it. My breeder said that she noticed since we brought her home, I haven't quite been the same and she is right. We keep in touch on an almost daily basis... because we work together.
I suppose the onset of cleaning, occasional yelling buzz yelling "no, stop, or enough", and her talking back to me is getting to me but I know its not all of that, which is…
