Hi , I wanted to give you an update on Bear. She survived the poisoning after being on Dialysis since February 22nd. at UF. She is home now and feeling great. Only time will tell if there is any permanent damage to her kidneys but right now no further treatment is needed and they seem to have recovered completely . A short month ago she was fighting for her life and today she seems like her old self . Mainly because we caught it in time, knew what it was, got the antidote quickly and then the… Continue
I call her Shorty more often than not. She suffered a couple of months ago with tick fever. She responded well to treatment at first, but then last week acted as if she were a 30 year old instead of a 3 year old dog. She got put on another round of antibiotics, and she's back. The vet probably overprescribed steroids the first go round for her anemia. She more than doubled her weight, but is back to a manageable heft these days.
So yesterday (3/17) was a very sad day for us. It was time to say goodbye to our beloved Cobi. Cobi would have been 12 on June 17th this year. We will miss him terribly. He was always such a trooper and such a tough little guy, dealing with epilepsy for about 9 years and then recently degenerative disk disease which took the use of his back legs from him, but he plugged along with the use of a wheeled cart for outside and scooting wherever he needed to go inside. Then about 6 weeks ago we… Continue
Well, Joshua did very well while Jason and I were on vacation for a few days last week! :) My mother-in-law stayed at our house with him (and our kitties). She worked on training him (we’re doing obedience classes with him currently) and even took him to the dog park a couple of times! I didn’t think she’d go because she was so worried he wouldn’t come back to her when it was time to leave, but she said he did great. Of course, she lured him to her with a treat…and along came several other… Continue
My husband and I went to Tokyo for a few weeks. Milo was at home with the grandparents for over 2 weeks. He is known to go up to our photo and whimper or growl - this means he misses us. He's asking where we are. He mostly does this with my husband's photo because he travels more frequently.
We decided to tell the grandparents to take the dogs to the yard so we can slowly enter the house without them noticing. We were waiting in the kitchen for 5 minutes until they came up. Guess… Continue
Don't know about anyone else but with only 31 days left before we can get our hands on our little Sami there are times when I feel like I am going to burst! I just have to find someone to say ____ days left. Am I the only one that is in count down mode? I'm driving my husband crazy with it he says I have COB Sydrome---Corgi On Brain. LOL

Oh my gosh! What a fun weekend! We entered ten events. We qualified in seven of the 10 events. Dudley did fabulous. What a boy! I'm so proud of him. Even when we didn't Q it was all my fault. He was doing exactly what I asked him to do, well except for when I was blocking the entrance to the tunnel and he scooted around me and took it anyway. But other than that, he did everything I told him to do. Sometimes I just didn't tell him to do the right thing. Oh well, mommy has some improvement… Continue
Optimus is getting pretty good about not going inside anymore (he's about 3.5 months old now). We even put him on these pills we got from Petco to help him stop eating his own poo. The only real problem we're having is that he's not really telling us when he needs to go out yet. We can tell when he starts sniffing around a certain way, it's time to go out, but we need something more obvious than that in case we're busy with something and can't keep a constant eye on him. We have 2 doors in our… Continue
Sometimes little things happen that make you appreicate having a corgi. Last night (well 4 am actually), George started barking and growling. Nothing would settle him. So i peaked out the bedroom window to invesigate. What was all the fuss about...? only two burglars in my yard who then moved onto my neighbours trying to steal their car. The neighbours woke because George was non stop growling which he doesnt normally do. His vicious barking scared the burglars off plus the fact we then flew on… Continue
today my mum left me alone in the house for the very first time while she and my sis went to get the car washed. i didn't have any accidents or anything! last night was my first night sleeping in my parents' room and not in my kennel! i did great as well. unfortunately all did not go well this afternoon when my mum got upset that i stole my sis' cookie. she scolded me and i showed my teeth! she said, "bad dog!' and every time i heard those words, i showed her my teeth. i think she's real… Continue
So today was Max's vet appointment for his last round of shots, and he did so great! I went alone, so I could have some one on one time with him, and he was an angel in the passenger seat--no crate, no nothing! They did a quick little check up on him, everything looked good, and he didn't even flinch with the shot! What a good Maxo:)
There was one thing that bothered me...they're not very familiar with the corgi. When they asked, I told her he was a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, like… Continue
Hello! Our little guy Roscoe is really smart. It was absolutely no sweat potty training him. We got him when he was 2 months old and he only went in the house twice. I believe that was because where he lived before had a doggy door and we don't. He just needed to get the idea and he was set. We never needed the crate but did keep him in the kitchen for the first week when we were at work just to "be sure" but he was so good there's no reason to do that anymore. He fetches and is pretty good at… Continue
...sometimes its just too much! This morning Pooka decided to wake up 45 minutes before us and kept scratching at her neck, causing her collar to spin around, her two tags clanking together unbareably. A din! A cacophony! If she wasn't scratching her neck, she's scratching her belly, or chewing on her haunches.
This isn't an abnormal thing. EVERY morning, when I let her out of the crate, as she follows me to the door to go out, she pauses every few feet to scratch. I open the door,… Continue
