We were hanging out in the fenced dog area in my neighborhood when I saw two labradors runnig towards us and 3 kids and 2 adults trying to catch them. They stopped next to the fence to say hello to Shiro and he was super excited. LAter on the owners let their dogs in the park. At first I was a little nervous because of how big they are, but then I saw how careful and gentle they were with Shiro and I let him off the leash. He had a blast! It was really funny to see him trying to catch up with…

Randy has been with us now for 4 days and Leo and I are happy with the situation. Leo is getting a good workout playing with little bro, who is a wildman just like him. These 2 are going all day (except for the short naps they take) and most of the time it is great to just watch them. There have been no serious squabbles, no serious injuries (fingers crossed here), and tons of Corgi fun. Leo likes to tease Randy with a chewy in his mouth, making Randy try to get it from him and chase him, it is…

I live in Australia. It is extremely rare that I see a Corgi these days. Is it because they are 'out of fashion'? Years ago, the Afghan Hound was the 'in' dog to have. These days you very rarely see an Afghan Hound. I think it is a shame when a dog breed is used as a fashion statement. I think the Corgi is best know as the Queen's dogs. By what I have seen there appears to be more Corgis in the USA than here in Australia. Any idea why they would be so rare these days?

On May 19th Callie is turning one year old! I can't believe time has gone by so fast! I am trying to decide if I am going to make her a dog safe cake or not. I was thinking of baking a Peanut Butter Delight Dog Birthday Cake, I'm sure she would love it. (As a note she doesn't normally get extra treats and I do keep her to her diet, but it's a special day!)
I know I don't update that often but I am usually busy with other things. Callie has been loving the nice weather (only know I'm…

I notice that I seem to be the center of attention- oh, and thanks you guys for the advice on my last post- See, I think I'm the center of attention because when ever I go ANYWHERE I'm followed by many humans who pet me soooo much! This makes me so happy, but I can't seem to understand why people seem to adore me so much. Maybe it's because I'm kind of small and kind of big. Or maybe it's because I'm energetic enough to catch any ones eye -even dog haters- and I don't freak humans out because…

He-who-has-still-yet-to-be-named will be coming home on Saturday! We will be driving down to south Florida to pick him up and are all pretty excited. Bought lots of toys and cool stuff that we saw on the Animal Planet video, like a puzzle box and a rope thing to tie in his den. Oh yeah, went with the smaller crate, but have since been told that "den" is the pc term for it. Names now being consider include, but are not limited to: Comet, Blaze, Boomer, Swift, and Mylo. We have decided to get to…

Winston's 2nd birthday was yesterday. It wasn't too eventful, his presents are still in the mail. I'll put pictures up later though. :)

Hey everyone! It's me, Sidney again. I have let my human write a lot lately, but I wanted my turn today.
Last weekend we took a ride in the car with my older brother Bruce. We got out of the car at this great park with lots and lots of trees. And there were so many humans, most dressed up in fancy clothes.
Here I am feeling really small among lots of people. Everyone who saw me was really happy to see me...even the Queen!…

Something to keep in mind. Corgi's are herders. They are hard wired to control large animals including humans.
Their means of control is nipping and biting. To them they are just doing their jobs. This needs to be watched
closely, especially around children, and no one wants to invite a lawsuit. They are often surrendered for this very
behavior. I know first hand. I have one. With diligence, it can be controlled.

Hey, uh, Corgis/humans, well not that long ago I was rough housing. And then when the older brother picked up the youngest sister, I started to bark. Then, the older brother lowered the youngest sister to me. I started playfully nipping at her, And then I started to softly bite her leg. I thought she wanted to play, but she started CRYING. I got in trouble and was pushed outside. Do you guys think it was MY fault she got hurt?

Well, lately I've noticed that Murphy's collar is feeling a little snug and that he seems to be growing out of it, so I got out his bigger one that we bought before we got him. It's still a bit too big, but yesterday I let him him wear it for a short time just to see what would happen and he hated it. I got a video of him trying to get it off by rolling around on the floor, its hysterical and I'll have to upload it soon. I ended up just taking it off of him and just putting it on to go out and…

He also got use to being pulled around on a cart inside his kennel. So we will update with pics this weekend on how things go. Wish him luck

Ah, Twinkie is so lucky she's so cute. She was busted yesterday eating the leaves off my strawberry plants. I can only assume she is also the culprit in the case of the missing strawberries. She is also digging through the patio pots for rocks and has started a nice collection. I can put them back and she gets them back out and starts a little pile right in front of herself. This is a dog that needs a hobby...a different hobby.

A few people told me that those are awesome. So wentto a specialty pet food store and I got one. I must say Shiro liked it a lot. He's still a puppy, so it would take him a ehile to go though the whole thing. The problem is, those things stink soooo bad. Once one end got soft, I could smell it from another end of the room. Nidless to say, his breath was horrible as well. So I had to get rid of it and go back to pig ears. He likes them even more and they don't really have a smell.

I do remember yesterday my humans saying something about me getting shots. Did I care? No. I didn't even remember what shots were. Today though, I remembered alright. And experienced them first hand, I got two on my back and one on my shoulder I think. It hurt a little, but not enough to make me look cowardly! I didn't cry or bark or flinch or struggle. I simply smiled at my owner because of the comfortable way he was holding me. I also didn't struggle because it would take alot longer if I…

Its officially been 2 days since we lost Juni, and its not any easier. I catch myself daydreaming of her sitting next to me in the car on our way to Petsmart, or her laying at my feet so I could rub her belly with my toes. We loved that dog to pieces! I also started crying in secret since it makes my 2 yr old sad when I cry. When does it get better?
I'm so thankful for everyones comments, thoughts, prayers...it makes me smile knowing so many are thinking of her. Too bad no one ever…

Whew! It has been a week full of painting, unpacking, and vetting. The house is coming along nicely, although there is still a lot of work to be done, and it's in that "it always looks worse before it looks better" stage right now. The animals, however, are all conspiring against me to my life as stressful as they can.
Izzy, the cat, was diagnosed with Inflammed Bowel Disease about a month ago and put on a food trail. I called the vet yesterday to say things were going great and is…

So it happened, we drove for 4 hours and picked up our precious baby. The breeder crate trained him, so he was totally fine while driving. In fact, he went to sleep as soon as we put him there. He's great with potty training besides couple of accidents at home right before my eyes (it's very hard to tell when he's going as he doesn't change his position and does it in seconds). I usually let him have some water in the morning, then take him outside to relieve himself.
He hasn't been eating…
