Girl is growing up! That's a no-brainer but with that being said, she sure shows her personality and just how intelligent she is this way.
Update on her awful breath, its seemed to disappear almost within a day or two! It seemed to be the rawhides we had for her. We donated those and two bags of treats to the shelter so some sad puppies will get lots of affection through goodies. The ONLY time Maui will ever see a shelter!
Trick list update for Maui:

I'm so disappointed in Reese. Lately she's been chewing up our shoes when we leave her alone in the house. She didn't do any of that before. But it's like she gets mad at us for leaving her alone. We thought we could trust her and let her have her freedom, but obviously not. We're sad that we will have to put her in her crate again when we're gone.
We might have to store our shoes in a closed area from now on, but I want her to learn that is not good behavior. I told her with a very…

I was hoping to make a post about Izzie and how much she has grown in the short time I've had her and come back from the vet with a clean bill of health, but unfortunately not!
I got Isabella from her breeder last June, so now Izzie and I have been best buds for more than a year now. She was due for her yearly checkup and rabies and parvo yearly vaccinations. I had told the vet that she has been bitten by a lot of ticks since we moved into our apartment and that I wanted the Lyme…

Hi everyone, I'm going to pick up little 8 week old (will be named 99% Brian, still considering other names) from the breeder in October, and am not sure how to go about it. When I picked up Ein, he was 12 weeks old and just laid nicely on my lap, but that was a 40 minute ride. However, the ride from breeder's to our home will be about 4 1/2 to 5 hours. I wonder if the puppy will be alright like Ein? How often will I need to stop by and let him go potty? Anything else that I should know about?

I woke up and it was time to get Goldie. We were a bit early so we went puppy shopping. I got her a cute toy a fluro pink collar with a bell, little pink bone (which is now her FAVORITE toy.) and a flying disk. After the shopping it was time. I thought i was going too burst out of my skin when i saw her! I couldn't believe it my Birthday Present has finally arrived. I met up with the breeder at the golf course. My mum said "she's here". I paused with a big grin on my face. I can't believe it MY…

What a great story about what is involved in getting a dog out of a shelter. We have many well meaning people send us updates about dogs in shelters. Sadly some will have nothing to do with rescues. Others have rules so stringent that we are unable to follow through. Many will not reserve a dog for us which frequently means we work hard to arrange a pick up the day the dog is to be released only to find that it has been adopted or no longer there.
Just a few weeks ago Sunshine Corgi Rescue…

Well, by now, many of you have seen the urgent post of a couple of days ago regarding a Tri-Colored Fluffy in a kill shelter in Kansas. So that some of you may understand better what I went through to save this little boy, I will explain in greater detail.
First, I am a volunteer rescue transport in Oklahoma and have transported many dogs of all breeds in the past several years, as I live in a town that also has a kill shelter.
Second, I was advised that there was a…

SUCCESS! I finally found a licensed Kansas rescuer that would allow me to sign out the Tri-Colored Fluffy under her license number as a foster on her organization's behalf! I will be picking the dog up afterall, just not as soon as I had hoped, because of the red tape we've had to go through all day to find someone who was willing to work with me sight unseen.
After about 30 days of fostering and assessment in my home for quirks, habits, traits, etc., he will be available for…

Comments on the puncture. . .I asked his vet if our cat may have bitten or clawed King. He said absolutely not, the wound was a perfectly round hole. It is the size of a pencil to give you an idea. Or a screwdriver, something like that.

Thanks to all of you for your enlightened comments. Apparently we have an English Major amongst us, so I'll try not to offend him again. . . . .
Anyway, King was inside the house. . . .all day - from 8:30 until I arrived home about 3:45. IF what his vet said about the time frame being 6 hrs at the max and probably more likely 2 hrs, that meant it occured about 1. So you see how we reached our conclusion. Or as I previously stated "the obvious assumption" HA HA HA sorry, I had to do…

I have been wanting a brother or sister for Charlie pretty much since we get him 2 years ago. We are thinking about getting a puppy. We would be looking for one around christmas time so that we could be home and spend time with both dogs.(we both work full time) It might be a little early to know, but I was wondering if there was anyone who knew of any corgis that are going to be born around that time that are in the colorado/ wyoming area?

I cannot go pick up the Fluffy as I was led to believe due to interstate regulations with HSUS -- I am only a foster home for the Fluffy Cardi. To take the dog home and then adopt out to someone else would be "selling" the dog, according to Kansas -- and possibly all other states as well. All the Corgi rescues I work with are full and have no place for him, so I can't even go pick him up on their behalf right now!
The Fluffy Cardi is still safe for the next couple of days -- please…

Just found out we get to pick up our little girl tomorrow morning. Now we just need to find her a name. Our cat is named Calypso, and out last corgi was Tiki. I would like something to go with either of these. I thinking Kona or Maya. I also like Zoe or Santini. Does any one have and thoughts or suggestions? My new profile pic is the best photo we have of her at the moment. Thanks!

Well, My name is Cody! it has now been two months since my mom adopted me. I am soooo happy! I was a puppy mill dog who had not been taken care of very well. The conditions weren't great. My ears were messed up and so was one of my eyes. They thought I might be blind--sooo not! My fur was so matted and you couldn't really tell what my colors were because I was so dirty.
My foster Mom, Jan, was so good to me. She had two other dogs--a big one that I had to get used to and another…
