Today Backie, me and 2 friends hiked up the mountain.

Our First (real) Agility Trial

Hey everyone! You may remember that we did two classes at a trial in August and... it was pretty awful. I posted videos (they're on my youtube if you need entertainment).

Ok, well, I call a redo! We competed yesterday at a CPE trial.. all 5 classes. We had intended to go to the show-n-go the night before, but the car broke down 30 minutes away and we missed it. So, I was really nervous and figured that Tucker wouldn't cooperate at all. I was wrong! He had a great start line…

Our First PWCCA National Specialty (photo heavy post)

(This sign was part of the Hospitality bag presented to us when we checked in. John added the drawings of the boys. The welcome bag also had a box of people snacks, schedule of events and a handout of local places to visit.)

Yet another post about the Villiage dogs

Yet again I am going to post about the other dogs in the village. But first a picture of Blackie on our walk!

Yesterday when we came back from our walk there were 4 dogs waiting for us on the hill.  One dog taking an interest in you is fine because it is easily scared off by throwing rocks and yelling at it, but when dogs start to form groups or packs you…

She's here!

28 September Video HERE!

28 Sept.: Things are looking great. Ace has a fierce history of guarding food from other animals, so we've had to be veeeeery careful about that with Lady. It's difficult because he will snap over some of the most worthless items, just because she happens to approach them - carrot ends, dried out treats from yesteryear... But yeah. I…

Halloween costumes

I took my golden retriever tricker treating every year. She'd hear the word treat and think, ya! She was a princess the first couple of years. An easy costume given all our pets are princesses or princes. Maybe my two new black and white corgis and my pyrenees can go as a herd of cows.( I could throw some black felt spots on my pyrenees and we'd be good to go. My 9 year old thinks the new corgi's look like cows.)

Glacier Peak Failure, Aug. 2012

Al claims the first failure on Glacier Peak's South Ridge by a Pembroke Welsh corgi without supplemental oxygen.  We could have done it easily had we been willing to walk the glacier unroped -- as many do -- but Al doesn't do glaciers unroped.  As he points out, "Nobody falls into a crevasse that they can see."  So 9200' is his high point.  Al is inspired by Sirowan's Goro,…

Gromit's Third Birthday

Gromit had a fine birthday day. He slept in, then had his usual breakfast. We went to the vet for an official weighing to confirm that he is back on his diet. Then it was off to Pet Smart for a pedicure and buying a new Hedge Hog squeaky toy.
Then we headed home for the dreaded brushing...…

Corgi Survives After Avalanche

This is an old story from last January, but I came across it again and thought I'd share it for anyone who never saw it.  It's an amazing story !

StoryTime turns 6 months old

My baby girl turns 6 months old tomorrow!  She was such a spunky, little fuzzball when we brought her home 4 months ago.  I love, love, love this dog, she brings us so much joy and laughter (and yes, early morning frustration when you steal our stuff and I'm running late!)  Happy 1/2 birthday StoryTime!!  ^..^

2 Days until Lady joins Ace!

I cannot believe it's so close to the 27th already! It feels like September passed by in a flash. Do you all remember when we were in school and a 90 minute class felt like it would go on for an eternity? And how incredibly long summer vacations felt? Kids have it so much better. At my age (25 years old), I already feel like entire seasons just slip through my fingers. It seemed like a week ago that summer finally started, and today it was already 13C (~55F) and I had…

Thank you Again, MyCorgi Peeparoonies!

Okay, so peeparoonies isn't usually in my vocabulary, but I'm way too excited for my own good right now and that is the result :)

I wanted to thank everyone on MyCorgi who pitched in to help me in my time of need to get Ziggy safely here, (and a thanks to Jen and the FB Corgi Nation to helping me keep him fed and healthy) in NH with me, when the only other option was the depressing one of leaving him behind with another new family.

Since you guys have all been so kind and…

PARVO POSTIVE: Ah!! I can't stand it :( A new litter of puppies from the same rescue I advertised before have caught parvo. At first I thought it wasn't serious but two puppies have died D; I can't believe such innocent puppies have been sent across the rainbow bridge at such an early stage in their lives!!! PLEASE DONATE TO THIS RESCUE SO THE REST OF THE LITTER CAN MAKE IT OUT ALIVE AND HEALTHY:

Lucy update

Ok, I realize it's been way too long since I posted any pictures or a Lucy update. Some exciting things have happened!

1. Lucy turned a year old! I decorated the house and got her lots of toys for presents. I'm sure she had no idea what was going on but I had to celebrate the milestone. A year ago, having a corgi was only a dream that I was sure would never be realized. Little did I know the day she was born that the love of my life had come into the world.

2. Lucy started her…
