Been AWOL
I haven't been on as much lately, and when I am it has been reading and not much replying (so sorry!).
My husband and I separated mid-July, and things have been rough but getting better.
I do have some happy amidst it all, though! I've been studying, and talking to breeders, and I am working my way to being a full-fledged breeder myself :) I've helped countless dogs during labor before (for pets of family, friends, etc), but Monday I had my first real…

Misbehavin' Molly
Okay, I am getting desperate here. Molly is being a complete terror lately. Eating food off plates on the coffee tables, eating the cat's food, begging, jumping up on people, she acts like shes starving to death which I know corgis are good at but this is ridiculous. She is literally always doing something wrong no matter how many times I tell her no. I don't get what her deal is but it is driving me crazy!!

My first two Corgis, Watson & Tinsel, had two litter mates, Holly and Mistletoe. We had the good fortune to meet and photograph Great Aunt Mistletoe, AKA Missy, a couple of years ago before she…

I bet many in this Pacific Northwest corner of the country were wondering why their neighborhoods were so quiet today. There was no barking coming from yards or houses as the unsuspecting passed by. Silence. What could be wrong? This is not normal. Who is around that will alert us to the presence of strangers or squirrels, or blowing wind if not for the always on guard corgis. Will our neighborhoods be safe again.
Never fear, on this one day a year, all the corgwyn gather in…

Dear Lemmy....
Dear Lemmy,
We will no longer be bringing you to fun stores that allow your kind; such as the Petsmart we are forever ashamed to return too. After you marked ten times, (one time being on a bag of dog food), and pooped once; Which we watched a nice man, wearing expensive shoes step in unknowingly before we got a chance to warn him.
All within 5 minutes of being in the store.
As Daddy took you from the store, while I stayed back and cleaned up after…

I didn't get to say goodbye!
It has been a year since I told the Vet it was time! This was suppose to be the toughest decision I would have to make but it wasn't. I knew that it was the right thing to do! Rugby my oldest had been sick for over a week and after two transfusions his blood levels kept dropping and I knew in my heart that he wasn't going to get better. What breaks my heart to this day is the fact I didn't get to tell him Good Bye! Right before Rugby got sick we were suppose to visit my daughter in Erie,…

Last agility pix
We got 4 perfect scores out of 5 runs at our last CPE trial. You can tell by the look on Murray's face how much he loves it. It's a blast...I highly recommend it. Takes a bit to get the hang of it, but once you do it's addictive!…

Murray has gotten to really like the weaves. We are practicing different entries...from a distance.

My first vet visit with Sophie
So sophie, Chris and I went to the vet so sophie could get her third set of vaccinations. We were referred to Paws and claws in langley, and now we know why. They are absolutely amazing! There was no charge for the initial visit, we only had to pay for the vaccine, the rabies shot, and the ear drops. They also did a full check up without us asking! Checked her joints, ears, eyes, skin, weight, and of course, fleas. And we got a good bill of health! She is apparently the perfect weight for…

The fall fund raiser picnic for Arizona Cactus Corgi Rescue was this past Sunday. There was a great turn out of humans and Corgis, by some counts perhaps as many as 90 Corgis came and went during the day. The weather was ideal and smiles abounded.
Sparkle's brother and sister, Finn and Lacey,…

Updates from the Homestead
Ponyo is doing very well. We've taken her on lots of trips with us this year, she's a very good travel dog. She still only tolerates the rabbit, and occasionally antagonizes her, which earns her a thump to the face from Butters' impressive hindquarters.
We've had four baby chickens in a brooder in the living room for a week now, and Ponyo is simultaneously curious and afraid. She wants to check them out sooooo bad, but as soon as I let one out for her to sniff at, she runs away. I…

Florida Events
Hey all!
I keep looking at these cute event pictures of all the Corgi get togethers and I love it! I was wondering if anyone ever has any in Florida? Near the Tampa/Clearwater/Largo area?
Thanks!

Peiko does not play nice with my wife and I's smaller dog, help!
One of our concerns before getting Peiko, or a corgi in general is how well will he play with Polly (Our Chorkie Poo, that is just a fancy name for a chihuahua, Yorkie, and toy poodle.) She is not even 4 pounds and is fully grown. Don't get me wrong Polly is still incredibly spry and does a pretty good job standing up to her much bigger younger brother.
So I made the case to my wife that puppies will play rough and when one bites too hard, the other will yelp and stop playing,…
