I'm a bad blogger!

I'm a very bad blogger! I didn't realize I haven't posted in so long. Wow! So much has happened since the last time I posted. Late October, let's see, in mid-November I sustained 3 pinched nerves and had to stop all training. Heck I had to stop everything! I spent most of the time the weekend before Thanksgiving and the weekend after Thanksgiving going to the doctor and the ER to get pain meds until they'd actually DO something! I had one pinched nerve in my neck and 2 in my upper back. I had… Continue

The Amazing Scout

I’m changing Scouts name to Houdini last night at around 12:30AM I hear the puppy begin to whine something he hasn’t done in the 2 weeks we’ve had him. Moments later I hear a thud up against the bed room door,

disoriented it scared me a little then I realized what it was. Scout had somehow gotten out of his kennel and was resting up against the door, so I get up and sure enough there he is. He looks up at me as if to say “oh sorry dude, did I wake you?” I’m sure he didn’t do anything…

Story of Daisy Part 2

So on February 13th, Daisy comes home to enjoy her new life with her new brother and sisters. Then, on Saturday, 2-20, when it was time to get breakfast ready, she didn't want to eat and didn't want to hang out with the Pupsters. Sunday morning, 2-21, I got her ready and took her to the Vet. They said she was running a high temperature. I told them to do whatever it takes to get her better. She was there for 3 days and she was on all kinds of antibiotics and her…

So Here's the Story on Daisy

I never knew how stressful rescuing a Corgi could be. . .but the wait was well worth it. . . .

On Jan 8th, my friend Nancy sent me a text saying that her hairdresser had a friend who was at the Pasadena Animal Shelter and she saw a Corgi there.

Nancy and I have talked for some time about how much I love my Corgis and how I wish I could get another one. She suggested that if I…

Pupsters Camping Trip

So I decided to take my Pupsters for their first camping trip. Little did I know how much fun it would be. A girl I work with asked if I wanted to accompany her and her family for an outting in Sequoia National Park. Now how could I resist such a temptation. . .lol

The first night was marvelous, aside from the Bear that came into the campground. My friend and her family brought a couple of tents. . .well I decided I would rather sleep in my SUV since the back folds down…

DOOOOLEY!!!!!!!!!! HE'S HERE!

Oh, my gosh -- you all can't believe how I feel right now -- a sudden wave of mixed emotions has taken my breath away to find Dooley on here! I'm crying and really don't have much to say because the words are hard to come by -- I will talk with everyone later.

Goodbye, Dooley -- I will always love and remember you!

On Saturday, October 31st, (Halloween) Dooley was taken to Texas to be adopted. I didn't pre-post or discuss this ahead of time, as I didn't want to vacillate and question myself in self torment. Now, that I'm home, slept for a few hours after a long road trip, am drinking coffee while Topaz and Frankie are outside enjoying the beautiful weather and sunshine, I'm actually tormented anyway.

After 2 1/2 months of fostering Dooley, awaiting placement, getting excited because a space… Continue

Tracking is Going Better This Week

I'm not as frustrated this week as I was when I previously posted about tracking. Dudley over did it a bit when he was playing a couple of weeks ago and the vet restricted us from jumping for a while. For tracking that meant "short grass only". We needed to track in the short grass so Dudley wouldn't porpoise through the grass going in and out of the fields. I searched for places that had spaces with manicured grass. One of the places I found was a local church. I got permission to track on… Continue

Tracking is Frustration at it's Finest!

I have started attempting to teach Dudley to track. OMG this is probably the most frustrating job I've attempted to teach Dudley! He actually knows how to do it and can do it really well, when he chooses to. That's the issue, "when he chooses to." AARGH!!!! If there weren't so many darn field mice, rabbits, moles and other critters out there in the fields this would be so much easier. Can I go directly to the VST test and skip the TD and TDX? I think he'd actually do better if we weren't out in… Continue

More Agility

September 25 through September 27 we attended the GSLAC (Greater St. Louis Agility Club) Agility trial in Glen Carbon, IL. This was Dudley's first full trial at his regular jump height. Before I'd always entered him in Preferred which has him jumping at 8". This time he was going to be jumping 12". There is a lot more competition in the 12" group so there wasn't going to be any "first by default" this weekend!

We've recently changed our game when it comes to agility. I felt like… Continue

Dooley -- 30 Days Are Up!

Today is the 30th day for fostering Dooley and I feel a heavy weight on my chest. I hadn't heard anything from the rescue group in Wichita, Kansas, since the 22nd of August -- until 3 days ago. Actually, by that time I was hoping they had forgotten all about Dooley!

I also heard from another rescue/adoption group in Texas inquiring about both Frankie and Dooley on the same day.

My heart sank, I went into a deep fog, and couldn't -- and still can't -- catch my breath --… Continue

Dudley starts tracking

Another new endeavor! Well, not totally new. We did start tracking a little last year but weren't able to devote enough time to it so we dropped from the group. But this year we're committed. Maybe in more ways than one! We'd been tracking for a couple of weeks and I thought Dudley was doing well. But then we tracked with a group and things were totally different! My remedial student came out and showed himself! When we track alone, Dudley does very well. He usually goes right down the track… Continue

Dooley -- Okay, Gang, let's talk!

After a rough weekend, and 4 hours on the road Monday night to get Dooley, as he is now named, life is getting back to wonderful! He's an absolute joy of a fur ball -- and OMG! does he have the fur! It's everywhere, in my coffe cup, bed, car, on my clothes -- oh, well, it's been said that no outfit is complete without pet hair!

I've tried my best to get photos of his "stubby" legs, but he won't stand still long enough. He's just so happy to be someplace where there are others to play… Continue

Rescuing a Tri-Colored Fluffy in Kill Shelter

Well, by now, many of you have seen the urgent post of a couple of days ago regarding a Tri-Colored Fluffy in a kill shelter in Kansas. So that some of you may understand better what I went through to save this little boy, I will explain in greater detail.

First, I am a volunteer rescue transport in Oklahoma and have transported many dogs of all breeds in the past several years, as I live in a town that also has a kill shelter.

Second, I was advised that there was a… Continue

UPDATE -- TRI -COLORED FLUFFY IN KILL SHELTER

SUCCESS! I finally found a licensed Kansas rescuer that would allow me to sign out the Tri-Colored Fluffy under her license number as a foster on her organization's behalf! I will be picking the dog up afterall, just not as soon as I had hoped, because of the red tape we've had to go through all day to find someone who was willing to work with me sight unseen.

After about 30 days of fostering and assessment in my home for quirks, habits, traits, etc., he will be available for… Continue

URGENT!!!! Tri-Colored "Fluffy" Cardi/Mix

Hi, all ! So very sorry about not keeping in contact for such a long time -- rescues have me overwhelmed right now, and it's difficult to spend as much time on here as I would like. However, I know you will all understand.

I'm just grabbing a few minutes here to post an urgent notice about a tri-colored fluffy Cardi/mix that I will be fostering until a home can be found. Right now, he is at a kill shelter in Dodge City, Kansas, with numbered days. I just called the coordinator 15… Continue

Comments on Dott & OC…

I’ve been pretty busy with my other blogs (I do 5 with this one) and I’ve been twittering, too.

We aren’t sure if Dott is pregnant or not. She did manage to sneak out with Doug (the full male foster corgi we had for about 6 weeks), but then we had bred OC 5 times (she only came in once a year & we started when she was 2) before she actually took and had pups, so we don’t know what’s going to happen as this wasn’t a multiple… Continue

My Pups are THREE Years Old Now!

Dott and BG had their third (human years) birthday on Wednesday. That makes them 21 in dog years!. Where has the time gone? Pups grow up way to fast!

Dott's Master, Robert, got us party hats (Sarcastic Hurrays here!)...

and little champagne glasses to drink out of, with a really good sweet… Continue

Hi! I'm BG...

Hi! I’m BG, and Mama is finally letting me get on here and introduce myself! BG stands for Bud’s Grandson, and that was what my first master named me when he took me home at 8 weeks old. He is one of my Mom’s sons, and had me for 2 months. I really loved him and my little mistress who was about 2 ½ years old at the time. Unfortunately, he had some problems and had to move to a place where he couldn’t keep me.

Mom had made arrangements for all of… Continue

Dudley at Cardigan Welsh Corgi Nationals! Year two!

My heavens what a difference a year makes! I can't wait to get the video off the camera so I can post it. I'm going to put Dudley's run in Novice jumpers last year next to this years Open Jumpers run for comparison. While he didn't qualify on either run, the difference is astounding. Last year he did 2 or 3 jumps and then zoomied around the ring with me trying to get him to the exit where he decided the tunnel looked especially enticing. He tried to see how many times he could get through it… Continue
