We currently feed Buddy the Adult Chicken VeRus food. Our local mom/pop pet store only carries the 40lb bags, which is entirely too much for our single dog, so we usually have them special order a 20lb bag for us. Well, the issue is that I forgot to call and have them order another bag earlier in the week, and now I called today and they won't have a bag in until next week. So I woke up extra early this morning to take Buddy to the dog park for the first time in nearly 2 months! He hasn't been since he started expressing "ungentlemanly" behavior. Well he's fully recovered from his neuter and got his stitches out a couple days ago. I was chomping at the bit to take him to the dog park, I think i love it just as much as he does!

Normally Becca makes all the posts, but I (Kevin) had to come here for support today. Tomorrow, Buddy is scheduled to get neutered and have the home again chip "installed"... I feel like a horrible person for doing this. I am currently unemployed and I am with Buddy every waking moment of our lives and I can't even look at him without my eyes welling up. I just feel horrible about having this done. Right now he is smiling and all happy…

So Buddy has been showing some little boy tendancies during the past few months. Our breeder and vet recommended that we wait until he turned 8 months old to neuter so he would have a little more time to develope. Well we haven't really taken Buddy to the dog park in months and have been avoiding dogs in general because we don't want to have any "mishaps" with another female dog.

So about 3 hours ago I put a flea treatment on Buddy. I know they are not supposed to get bathed for a few days after the treatment, but what about unexpected heavy rain? I honestly didn't even consider rain, but living on the east coast means dealing with unexpected thunderstorms all summer long.

Hey Everyone,



I came home from work today to discover that Buddy got into our half bathroom and chewed up one of the plastic caps on the toilet, and ate part of the ceramic piece that was underneath it. Just for clarification, it was the cap that covers the screw that holds the toilet in place. He didn't eat the plastic cap, just chewed on it. It seems the main course was part of the ceramic piece. It has been a while since I have made a blog post about our little bundle of energy, Buddy. He is about 17 weeks old now and he has proven to be rather difficult the past couple weeks. We were originally advised by our trainer to keep him on a leash at all times, due to potty accidents and to keep him under our control. So our puppy is about 11 weeks old now. He is doing great for the most part, and he is really starting to enjoy and depend on his daily walks. We live in a townhouse style neighborhood, and we got a decent amount of snow over the weekend. Buddy loves the snow! We let him off the leash in our backyard, and he went crazy! Normally you see my better 1/2 posting (Rebecca), but I (Kevin) am posting today to address an issue we are having with our 10 week old Pembroke "Buddy".



I am blessed to be able to work from home most of the time, so I have been able to take an active part in his life right now. I have him going outside every 2 hours for a pee break. Followed by about 20-30 min of company and then I crate him for another 90-120 min until its time to go again.

We took our boy to the vet last night for his first puppy exam with us (the breeder took him for his first shots at 8wks). And all good reports (for the most part)! He weighed in at a hefty 7.15lbs! I can't wait until we are able to take him out and walk him, he has so much pent up energy! We do our best to excercise him properly around the house and in the yard, but nothing beats going for a long walk. We have had our puppy for 4 days now, and he still doesn't have a name! We have gone over tons of names and nothing seems to fit, and it is becoming very frustrating to address bad behavior, or even good behavior when he does not have a name. Not to mention I am trying to fill out some paperwork for the vet and our country dog license, but we can't complete anything without a name. Anyone else had this issue before? I have noticed that when my puppy is sleeping his breathing is really short and quick, when he wakes up he is perfectly fine. Is this normal?

So we finally brought our puppy home finally. It has been a very, very long 9 weeks. He is the most amazing little guy! We live about 1hr 30min away from our breeder, and he was very well behaved the whole drive home in his crate. He was a little unsure and nervous at first when we got home, but after some lunch and a nap, he sprang to life and was even playing fetch! He loves his crate, and even had his first poop tonight! So I finished the majority of my shopping in preparation to bring my new baby boy home next weekend. I was approached by several employees, asking if I was going to enroll my pup in the training programs they have. Since it is a smaller store, I will probably end up taking him to train there since the classes are smaller.
