She has climbed 7 mountains this year, and we failed on an 8th. She gets to go more often lately because Al is recuperating from last September's injury. She's maybe a bit slower than she used to be, but I don't have to wait for her unless it's icy or really steep. She gets the occasional "corgi toss" past certain obstacles, and seems to like snowshoe hiking. She…

Bogart had a great weekend (yes, he told me so himself). Friday afternoon we played with other dogs at the dog park, Saturday morning we went for a run. In the afternoon Bogart had a play date in the back yard with Newton the Otter Hound and Oppenheimer the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen (PBGV) - see below:
Today, Sunday, Bogart helped me put out 15…

Has anybody encountered this kind of issue? Isaac is losing more hair in this particular area near his rump than anywhere else on his body. At a glance, the skin underneath this area is white with no visible lesions, redness, bumps, or anything noticeable. He's in that shedding phase but this spot is losing more hair than any other location on his body. …

I spoke to my vet today to be told everything was normal with Oscar's blood tests no problems whatsoever were her exact words! so we can go ahead as planned with his tooth extraction next Friday. I know I will be a bundle of nerves then but my vet knows me too well!. I will keep you posted on Oscar's progress!.

I've been totally obsessed with corgis for 4 years now and I am getting my first pupper very very soon! She's a bluie tan-point tricolor pem named Rorey, and will be 10-11 weeks when I pick her up. That being said, for all I know about corgis, I lack real life experience. I'm looking for help from those who've been around the block before and can give me some good pointers! These are things I have questions on, answer whatever you want or can!

So we finally made our way over to the vet, and I think Ziggy's face says it all! He was allllll good!! While he was less than happy about being prodded with needles (huge ones!) I think that he senses that I'm not constantly freaking out and is generally a…

A big thank you from Oscar's dad to those who left messages for Oscar I kept Oscar downstairs last night he had the choice between his trampoline bed and his one he snuggles up in I've had a sleepness night lying there hearing his breathing!. I'm expecting a call from the vet this am to tell me how Oscar's blood test went to see if he will be okay to be put under for his tooth extraction next Friday. Isn't it funny we worry just as much if not more about our animals as we do our children!.…

I'm changing Gwen's food. And when we went to Tractor Supply to check out TOTW we saw their brand 4Health.
Have any of you bought/ used it?
We compared ingredients and percentage, they were almost indentical except one had 13% the other 14% of one ingredient
The TOTW was 47.99 for a 30lb. bag.
The 4Health was 36.99 for 35 lbs.
And when I get it(the new food) do you think I should buy a small bag first? Sooo new at this stuff. I'm driving my husband…

I have all these plans detailed and thought out...well I'm at my daughters babysitting the grand kids with Wynn. This AM I let their Bull Terrier out with Wynn and I hear a bit of a warning growl from Wynn. He came back on 3 legs:( Not sure what happened. My 1st thought was take him to the vet BUT I have 2 kids under 5 and NO car seats. He is doing better after an hour and putting weight on his leg but I think I will call my vet and see what they have to say as my husband could pick up…

I searched the site since I know there's countless threads on them, but got overwhelmed trying to find answers.
Just as food choices are/were overwhelming when we got Gwen.
I'll admit to having a problem spending 50.00+ on one bag of dog food .She's eating Purina One. Originally the beef small bites. But it gave her gas,(kinda funny to hear those BIG belches come out of a little dog). And her stool was a bit loose.
So we switched her to the chicken and…

Today is Sheamus's 1st Birthday. Yay!
It's amazing how fast he's grown and how long it has been since I last updated here. Well I can report that Sheamus has since become house trained and overcome his separation anxiety. He went through puppy school as well as obedience training, travelled with us interstate, went swimming for the first time (but didn't quite like it :-p) and became an older brother to two new shih tzu cross puppies.
Anyway, I should be…

Thought you guys might find this interesting. There has been a more accurate ranking system established for the intelligence of a breed/dog and you might be surprised with the results. Apparently our beloved corgis are among the ten LOWEST in intelligence on the chart.
Ranking of Dogs for Obedience and Working Intelligence:
1. Poodle
2. Border Collie
3. Doberman…
