Cosmo is almost 5 months and showing a few signs of aggression, when we go to take off his leash he gets snappy and when we punish him, is this normal for such a young age? It just started about a week ago but I'd really like to get it under control as soon as possible. I am constantly rewarding him for his good behavior and just saying "NO" when he gets snappy. Any other ideas?
He is such a happy puppy so I dont know where this behavior is coming from?!
Please…

Today we've had Ein for one month! The breeder we bought her from gave us a 30 day trial period (money back if we decided to return her), but there was never any doubt we'd be keeping her. I emailed the breeder a couple days ago and said, yep! She's ours! She's such a sweet girl. We wanted an adult from the beginning---puppies are wonderful, but we really just wanted a calm, adult dog. We tried for a year to adopt a rescue. They were in short supply to begin with, and the rescue…

I know the way to heaven is not supposed to be easy. Life throws many boulders in your path that you must climb over. But with a little corgi encouragement, it can be attained. Frankly, I think Austin was thinking more about the studly young men that easily passed us on the trail and the possibility of them packing beefy sandwiches in their packs and that if we didn't hurry to the top they would eat those sandwiches before we arrived.
The climb up (can you see the corgi)…

I never realized how much a puppy could sleep! Ferris probably sleeps more than 16 hours a day. It's quite nice to have a break from all the hectic puppy stress, but sometimes I wish he would wake up and play too. How long does this constant nap time phase last?

My 4 yr old Corgi, Sandi snapped at my 19 mo old for the first time when she got to close while she was chewing her bone. Anyone have any ideas on how to stop this before it turns into a bite? She's never been food agressive before, so I'm not sure what has started this. My daughter used to crawl around her while she was eating but not sure why its starting now.
Any input would be very appreciated!!!

My little corgi (18lbs full grown ) has been going on runs with me every night and we are averageing about 5 miles a night. But running in the desert and on gravel roads have left her feet soar and raw, so lately she has been staying home healing ( and not happy about it). While i was getting ready for a run the other night she was so happy and excited but got left at home. So then she decided to get even and let me know that she was not happy and so she chewed up 4 magazines all over the…

Long, long ago back in the days when the land was new and the pixies still tied knots in the sheeps tails and tangled the manes of the horses at night, the Corgi was the steed of choice for the nightly rides of the Queen of the Fairies. Both Pembrokes and Cardigans had long, flowing tails and would wag them brightly as they trotted along.
One night though, after a long day of herding, a Pembroke Corgi decided that enough was enough and that he would rather sleep than be bedecked…

I really need some advice here...Is it possible for a dog to just NOT like a human? I have done everything for this dog and he still shows me NO love, NO respect....I really don't know what to do with him. I have had TONS of dogs all my life and have never met one so distant. I am really thinking about getting rid of him even after the THOUSANDS I have already spend on him, his vet bills and all he could ever ask for as far as toys, food, care etc. I really don't feel comfortable giving…

My 11 week old puppy Tucker I've only had for 13 days and I am really impressed with him. He knows sit, wait, down and "shake paw" command. He now understands that if he needs to relieve himself he just walks to the front door. He even picked up on that I wear the same sandals when we go outside; a few times he has carried them to me. We've been potty accident free for 4 days :) . Its great to see when your dog just connects the dots.

I just got Bootsie the beginning of June. She is about 5 months now and 7.3 lbs. I would like to get her a harness.. it seems none of them really fit her right..especially the easy step ones (not so easy). Any suggestions on type or brand? Thanks!

Does anyone in this community have any experience or advice about making home made dog food... you know with meat/rice and supplements. I'd love to be able to make something like that for the puppies now that they've got little teeth (and I fear mom is having a harder time keeping up with their voracious appetites).
I saw one recipe that used ground beef, white rice, and whole eggs (shell included for calcium) and vitamin supplements. I'd be more interested ones that included some…

Since I'm completely new to all of this, can someone please tell me if the ears on a corgi stand up naturally? I'm wondering if my pups' ears will eventually stand up. I ask because I noticed a corgi cross with the ears "done" and since mine are 3/4 corgi, I'm hoping their ears stand on their own.
(we are now at the puppy teething stage, sharp little buggers :) )
Thanks,

H O L Y C R A P. I am trying to teach Waffle some more tricks. When I was teaching him "Wafflecopter", he would spin once and I would say "do it again", and he would spin again. Now he spins twice! I said "do it again" when I was teaching him something else at school and he spun around and I made the connection that he thought "do it again" = "spin". I've been saying it over and over too trying to teach him to go backwards. Well I said it today…

Last week, Baxter and I went to Perry, GA for a huge 5-day agility event (two rings with 940 entries a day.) We got to the arena on Wednesday and boy oh boy, I'm glad we got up there early. Baxter was quite afraid of some of the noises inside-- the microphone announcer, the dog barks echoing off the walls, etc. It was a lot for him to take in. We walked around a bit and eventually he calmed down, which was very helpful because we were like the 8th dog up the next morning...…

8 yo female Corgi, Jen. She's very good with people but, not with other dogs. She needs a home where she will be the only dog. She live in Villa Park, IL. She's a very good companion, she'd be great company for an older woman.

Sunday July 8th, one week ago today, I decided to Google any upcoming corgi litters in the area. I found a litter born June 16th with a couple male pups available. I sent the woman an email and within the hour had multiple pictures of the male my boyfriend and I liked best. We sent her our reserve deposit and officially started the countdown to picking up our new baby boy, Maverick. The woman had names for her pups for reference and our choice's name was Raccoon, which was kind of a sign…

We signed for our house on Friday, and pretty much spent our whole weekend out there with Scout (minus sleeping, as furniture is still at the apartment).
Scout is taking the move as expected, easily. Pretty much I am the only thing she needs, and as long as she knows she has me, she is fine with any changes. We had to leave her in the house while we ran to town, and I was going to lock her in the bathroom, but she didn't want to go in. So she stayed in the main part of the house. …
