So much for sleeping in...

Oscar used to be very good about being quiet in his bed in the morning until we came to take him out. He would let us sleep in on the weekends and wouldn't make a peep. Lately this has not been the case. Oscar is up every morning seemingly with the sun. Normal 8am but sometimes as early as 6!! I work 11am-8pm and my boyfriend normally closes his store getting home after 1am. Needless to say we are not morning people. We have been exercising him just as much one nice long walk a day and… Continue

Antifreeze

We were having a wonderful time while visiting my parents for the 4th of July. As usual we had brought our bubbly pup Chloe with us. On Saturday night my dad had let us know that he had been having issues with skunks (they live in the country) and that he had set out some antifreeze to try to poison them. We had kept Chloe on a leash or on her chain while she was outside the whole time and had her far away from the deadly, sweet drink.

This morning as we were getting ready for the… Continue

Bad dog trainer, BAD!

So Owen and I took a trip to the Ft. Steilacoom dog park today.. which is huge. Last time we were there we had a great time and even met some other corgis. All and all had a good time. This time we ran into this awful woman who introduced herself as a trainer as Owen was playing with her awful poodle and awful chihuahua. She commented on how lean Owen looked and asked me how much I fed him. I said we feed him 1 cup a day over two feedings. He is a year old and quite active as we are. She looked… Continue

A tribute to Corgis in my etsy shop!

I've always been into arts and crafts, and recently I decided to make some new stuff all inspired by corgis. Right now I have 2 new plushies, and am planning to make many more.

You can view these little guys on my etsy page: www.jenfuj.etsy.com

Thanks for looking, and may our love for corgis never end! :)

Koby is doing great. He is 7 months old now, the time goes by so quickly!! It seems like just yesterday I was holding him and he was a little tiny 6 pound pup!! Now he is 21 pounds and a solid muscle! He looks great, You can see his muscles and his legs are a lot longer than my other corgi Riley. He loves to run and he likes when other dogs chase him its a fun game! For the 4th of July we actually took him by the river and let him sit on my lap and watch the fireworks! He wasn't scared! He sat… Continue

Karma's surprise ;)

A couple months ago, Karma had a "tryst" with Barney, just days before his neuter appt. Well guess what! She delivered a little girl while we were away in MD. My 23 yr old daughter discovered this little surprise (she never showed, we honestly didn't know!) in the kitchen when she came down for a drink. I'll post some photos of the baby girl :)

My dogs do not enjoy Independance Day!

They are celebrating the holiday under the bed. Blaugh! It wouldn't be so bad if it were one night, but around here they won't run out of fireworks for weeks!

Shedding Time Is Here

I just want to say ...

Zwei is shedding ...

It started all of a sudden two days ago around the time that we bathed him. Now we're finding huge tufts of hair in his crate, and when we gave him a brushing yesterday the brush was FULL of hair, on both sides!

Arrrrgh!

Bad Little Corgi Boys

Well the lads decided to chew the cord for the sprinkler system yesterday. Leo has never bothered it in the (almost) year he has been here in the backyard. Randy must have discovered it and Leo joined the fun. Thank goodness there is no power to it at all when the system is off. This is my bad as I should have found a way to cover it long ago..or it should have been installed that way in the first place (blame Rob..the installer). I am trying to get my little brother (Mr. Contractor) over here… Continue

A New Name

I changed the name to my page to reflect what Emma's name would be if she were registered. Emma is a rescue pup, sort of. A friend had to rescue the litter and some adult dogs from her elderly mother-in-law who was too infirm to handle her breeding business. They couldn't locate the papers on Emma's parents, but since she is a family pet and won't be shown or bred, I told my friend not to worry about it. Emma's mother is named Foxy Lady, and her father is Beaumont; I had the pleasure of meeting… Continue

Life is Never Dull!

Emma is almost 6 months old, and life is never dull! We are amazed at her intelligence and alertness! She is a joy to have around, but she certainly keeps us on out toes! She can get into everything so fast. We are definitely devoted to the breed now; I cannot imagine ever being without a corgi from now on. We got our backyard fenced in for her, so she has a nice big place to run and play. She will chase balls for me, but I cannot get her to bring them back. I think she'd rather herd them… Continue

Danger On The Deck

I have been loving to read the posts by all of the members about their new puppies. I have been remembering the fun we had last year when we brought Twinkie home. I also remembered how we just avoided disaster when she fell from over 7 feet from our deck just a few days after her homecoming! Our deck is probably similar to most with the stairs being open at the back and of course the spaced railing at the top. Twinkie had ran up the stairs to catch her big sister who decided to stop and have a… Continue

I LOST THE LOVE OF MY LIFE ON WEDNESDAY 07/01/2009

My best friend in the world lost his battle with the most terrible and cruel disease on the face of the planet, Degenerative Myelopathy. I noticed Cyber wasn't eating his food on Tuesday night. He has never turned down his chow in the 13 years he has blessed me with his presence. He even refused a piece of turkey sausage at breakfast the next morning. I rushed him to our pet clinic where we have been taking him for his acupuncture treatments and the vet said his gums were almost white and he… Continue

My 9 month old Corgi does this weird and scary breathing thing somethimes...

Hi all I am brand new to this site today, love looking at all the pics of these adorable corgis!!!

Ok so my 9 month old pembroke corgi, Yogi, sometimes breathes real fast likes he cant catch his breath and hyperventilates for a very short time, maybe 5 seconds. The last time he did it I was eating and he was begging and I thought maybe he was just over excited thinking he was gonna get a treat but I remember now that he has done it before not anticipating food... Does anyone elses corgi do… Continue

Jack went hiking today

The weather has been horrible this June, and we have not been able to enjoy any of our usual summer activities. However, today we managed to sneak in a hike between thunder storms. We took a trip to the new Nature Conservancy preserve on Moosic Mountain, and checked out one of their lovely trails.

It's a very unique habitat. We usually hike in the woods, but this is a ridge-top heath barren. Nice views, odd landscape of ferns, mountain laurel, and wintergreen mixed with some stunted… Continue

Poor, Sick Little Puppy =(

I woke up to the sound of a dog vomiting at 3 AM (lovely, I know). I almost didn't get up because I thought I was dreaming, but did and went into the "dog room" where I keep Sky's and Lyla's crates. I was hit by the overwhelming smell of diarrhea. Poor Lyla had been having diarrhea all night it looked like. her poor paws were covered. I got her out of the crate and straight into the tub where she threw up 8 more times and had another diarrhea in less than an hour! I was trying to wait until 8… Continue

I have just found this sight and would also like to thank the members that have welcomed me. It is so nice to see all of the wonderful corgis and the opportunity to chat with other corgi lovers.

I have had a very stressful week, Hanna, our 3 year old corgi whelped last Tuesday. We were at the vets on the Thursday previous for an ultrasound and xray to know how many to expect (we were told 5) and that everything was well. From the vets she went to stay with a dear friend of mine who was… Continue

A little bit about me...

First, let me say thank you to those of you who have welcomed me so far. It's wonderful to see a networking site dedicated to the hardest working little herder around and their humans. With that said, my name is Chuck. I'm 26 and living in West-By-God Virginia. I first fell head over heels for corgis after watching Cowboy Bebop. Ein was the most adorable dog I'd ever seen and I had to know what breed that stubby legged, bunny butted genius was. After a quick search on the internet and thanks to… Continue

Brotherly Love

Well the boys have been together now for a few months and I have to say they are bestest buddies. I am so glad things worked out so well as mostly I did not give Leo enough one on one time before expecting him to tolerate another dog. They have become almost inseparable and take such good care of each other. Last night when it rained hard, they each groomed the other, licking off the water as if to comfort. They seem to show so much love towards each other, it melts my heart. Happiness and good… Continue
