We've been considering a second dog for a few months. Zeroed in on corgi breed, and a week ago made a step toward seeking out one. With the help of the local Rescue Agent we located our boy that's only 2.5h away from us.
We are very excited about the new addition to the family. We'll be picking him up this Saturday. Lots of homework has been done, but I am always soliciting valuable input.
About him…

I was taking a nap yesterday afternoon and woke up to a bad smell. Faye just had diarrhea all over the floor next to my bed. I kept running to the bathroom to puke while cleaning it up. Anyway, I had her drink water then I left to go help a friend move. I came back after 3hrs and discovered the she has puked AND pooped in 7 different areas of the house, two of them being in my room and the bathroom floor is COVERED with this... gooey mixture. I brought her outside just in case then started…

I have one of those wonderfully flexible jobs where I work between an office 15 minutes away and my desk at home. When I'm away, Ofelia does great in her crate. She has toys and there and she usually naps. When I'm home, Ofelia gets bored very quickly. She doesn't understand that I'm not ignoring her because I want to but because I have a lot of work to do. So my back is to her most of the day. I try to give her time (and I'll admit I don't get outside with her as often as I can, except for the…

This article pretty much sums it up for me in a nutshell.
I am very much against force training and it seems like it is becoming popular lately what with the popularity of Cesar and other shows showing similar techniques. People would rather use force, fear, or aversive techniques rather than understand how the dog behaves, thinks and communicates. Everyone wants a quick fix, not a technique that takes weeks of…

Well Denise and I always said that when Malibu turned 2 that we would get are next Cardi Corgi. She turns 2 on the 26th. She has been growing up with my sister and father's dogs both Newfoundlands but My sister had to put him down earlier this year and my Dad's was put down last week. So now Malibu is only except for friends at the dog park. I found a breeder in Oregon which has a blue boy. I am in talks with the breeder now. I want to possibly show this one. Well, we have 1 week til basic obedience graduation and I'm a little scared. I really don't think Gibson is going to pass! He is the youngest kid in the class and he's learning everything, just a little slower than the other dogs.
Last night in class he really just wanted to play the whole time and kept trying to play w/my feet and "growl" at me when we were walking... and then we did a long 'stay' where we had them sit at one end of the room as we walked to the other, and then call…

I keep getting invites from "Corgis for McCain & Palin." First off, this is a site about corgis not ones' political views. Secondly I might be Independent but I will NOT accept propaganda from this website. I get enough of that crap sent to me by mail. Thirdly I ALREADY VOTED, and for your information it was not for McCain. How DARE you use this site as propaganda!
I am here to talk with people about corgis. Not be pulled into some political BS by someone who thinks it's funny or…

Dear little Bailey-Mae-
Thank you for coming into our home, even for just the brief time that you did. You made us so very happy, and we both felt things for you that we haven't felt in a very long time, and guess what? The struggle you were going thru brought Mommy and Daddy closer together!!! Thank you!
You were so cute and fun and smart and you were a very good girl! We especially liked how easy it was for you to whine your way out of your crate in the middle of the…

I'm thinking of calling her Sian meaning Gods Gift. I believe it is pronounced like Shawn but thinking does it really matter and pronouncing it like "sigh anne". What do you think?
She has a belly and though a vet looked her over before flying over here, I have sent a stool sample out to be cultured and should have results tomorrow afternoon. She was gasey this evening so maybe just a bit bloated but like to sort my eggs and be ahead of any…

I have a friend whose parents own a dog grooming place. She was telling me about how some breeds, like Pugs, need help cleaning their behinds after they poop because they're not so self-sufficient. Is this true for Corgis since their bodies are of different proportions?
I usually just let Faye out to do her business and she comes right back in when she's done with whatever. I walked her earlier and she pooped (she usually doesn't on walks). I've watched her ever since we got back and…

In response and support of Wendt Worth's Corgis
Animal Guardianship:
Animal Guardianship is a campagin to change the term to describe pet owners from "owner" to "guardian".
On the surface it just looks like an attempt to make pet ownership feel more fuzzy and PC. You don't own your dog! You care for your dog, like a child or an elderly adult. There's more to this change than terminology, though.
The idea is that if people…

So, I decided to start a blog called
corgi butts! I will still keep you updated on Gibson here, but I will be posting more often over there w/lots of random things. My grand plan is to open a cafepress shop w/the same name that will feature the little butt graphic I created w/all the different colors of corgis (along w/lots of fun corgi sayings and catch phrases of course). Anyways, I hope you'll visit me over there! Thanks!…

Hey everyone,
I wanted to thank everyone for the great wonderful response we have received from joining the website. We are both very excited to get our first corgi puppy together. Also both of us have been reading up on corgis and we still feel under prepared. I think it is the overwhelming feelings of how do we want to go about training and loving our dog. I know all the training books in the world would never be able to fully prepare us for what we are going to go through in…

On Saturday, November 1st:
My boyfriend Brian and I drove 2 hours to meet with a wonderful lady by the name of Patti Gordon. She is a Corgi Breeder, whom I have been in contact with over the last few months. She has such beautiful Corgis! We met her newest liter, and also met with the Mom and Dad of these adorable healthy pups. We toured her property, and played with all the puppies, Mom even joined in. By the time we were ready to leave, I was pretty sure that I wanted to take home…

well the gate finally came down today. chloe is loose in the house with my parents dogs and i'm kind of amazed at how well she is doing...how well they are all doing. after the initial intensity while they were checking each other out shiloh went back to his spot in my parents room and went back to sleep(he's old and sleeps a lot) and chloe and bandit actually layed down together. they started off on the couch and when i moved to the kitchen to get on the computer bandit followed me and layed…
