Baxter had his third agility class last night. I missed writing about the second one, so I'll just give the highlights:
Baxter started off with a single jump that was to be wrapped and followed by a second. On his first try, we successfully jumped once and wrapped to the next jump. The trainer was impressed!
Baxter got some time on just about all the equipment pieces. He loves the tunnel, did great on the wobble board, and can definitely walk the dog walk.
So today of all days poor Jordan had a horrible bout of diaherria all down the hallway and a little in the living room. Now this normally wouldn't bother me because lets face it we all have it from time to time. I mean it's just lucky my carpet and bissel don't get a work out when I have it Ha-Ha.... But today my precious 6 month old cousins daughter is coming to stay for a few days. His wife is a little protective so this is a big thing I've been cleaning like crazy to ensure everything…
Sidney's FHO surgery went well and he came home this afternoon. He was so happy to see my daughter and me! He's in his crate now and is resting comfortably.
He gets anti-inflammatory medication and painkillers for 2 weeks, then he goes back to have his sutures removed. He's mobile now, though he's not wanting to bear any weight on the hip. They said this is normal and he might try to stand on that foot within a few days. We're keeping him in a doggie recovery condo until his 2 weeks… Continue
So Sharon with Sunshine Corgi rescue is coming tomorrow to do a home study so I can be a foster mom. I am so excited & a bit nervous. I hope I get approved & get to help corgi's find furever homes. Wish me luck !!!!
***UPDATE***
Well Sharon just left, what a very nice person. I know I could learn alot from her. She seems to think I would be good to be a foster parent, so hopefully soon I will have a foster corgi who I can love & get placed in a…
Does anyone know if its 'normal' for your corgi's feet or ankles to 'click' when they walk? Barney isnt overweight, and he is only 4 yrs old, but sometimes when he walks his joints make a clicking sound. There doesnt seem to be any pain surrounding his feet either. Just wondering if other corgi's 'click'. Thanks!
Today Sidney is having his FHO surgery to relieve the pain from his luxated hip joint caused by hip dysplasia. It was a tearful goodbye this morning, but I know he is in excellent hands. They will call me later this afternoon, and I should be able to bring him home tomorrow.
Thank you all for your messages of encouragement, well wishes and prayers. It really means a lot to me :)
***UPDATE***
Just got a call from the vet. Sidney is already done and is…
I hope everyone had a great Labor Day just like I did. Even though we didn't do much. Lance got to run with the doggie that lives behind us and he just loves it. Not even a height can stop him from being energetic and wanting to play with him. Lance loves to play and run, hehe. Anyways, here are some pictures that I have captured:
^ Lance & Logan- they are running together- even if there is a…
So, my mom calls me today. She says "I have bad news". I say "ok". She says Don (the landlord) just brought me this paper. It says "Pet ordinance for (the trailer park we live in)". I say "ok". She says "It says 2 pets per household. Pets include dogs, cats, birds including finches etc, rodents kept as pets, reptiles and any other living creature kept as a pet." (or something to that effect-I don't remember exactly what she said it said)
So, Anyway... My mom is the only
one who gets to… Continue
Okay, You can tell by the picture that Lilly is really fuzzy. Ever since she came home at 6 weeks, she is 4 and half months now, she sleeps on either the air conditioner vent, or an ice pack. At nite she goes in a little pop up kennel on my bed, on a ice pack. I have several foam flat bricks, I put them into a pillow case, and she loves to sleep on them. I have checked with my vet more than once, and she has room to move completely away from the ice pack so there is no risk of frost bite or… Continue
So my poor little corgi boy had to be shaved yesterday...as in, completely shaved! I feel so bad for him....it's basically just adding insult to injury. As anyone who's read my other blog posts knows, Daxter has been struggling greatly with his skin allergies for the last 3 months or so...this is the worst allergic reaction I've ever seen on him. He even got so bad, that he got skin infections. I tried everything from putting socks on his feet to switching his food, to giving him… Continue
It seems that in the state of Washington it is illegal to have dogs off-leashe on school property. Even if its 5am on a Labor Day Monday. I had gotten off work early and arrived home about 10 mins. to 5, the corgi's were giving me the "Don't even think your going to bed without walking us" stare so I thought it being 5am and Dark outside I'd just run them up to the school. Now this school share's a feild with another school and this is a big feild between the 2. So I'm a little obsessed with… Continue
I'm so happy I've found a group of Corgi people. Maybe one of you can shed some light on our on-going issue. From the day we brought home our youngest Corgi, Dobby, he has been aggressive. When he was five months old he bit me and drew blood. We got him into dog training right after that. He and our other Corgi, who was two at the time, began fighting. Not play-fighting (though they did a lot of that too) but real fighting. Dobby is almost two now and things are much better between them. But… Continue
Today is Callie's 5th day of recovery and also the day we can start switch her to more solid canned dog food. She has been eating mushed up watered down canned dog food since the surgery. She gets fed frequently to just make it so she doesn't eat a lot at once and cause pressure on her intestine. So far today I've been slowly increasing the size of the bites (they are small chunks now) and by mid next week we may even start mixing in Kibble.
Everyday Callie has just seemed to get better… Continue
This wonderful website was created in September 2007 by Sam and Silvia after attending a meetup in Orlando, Florida. In November 2008, mycorgi.com became a non-profit charity, and since then there has been money donated to Sunshine Corgi Rescue, CorgiAid and Four Paws Corgi Rescue.
Sam and Silvia completely volunteer their time, and on this third year anniversary of the beginning of mycorgi.com, I thought we ought to give a big "Thank You" to them.
So we're giving Tegan a bath at PetSmart when in comes another corgi. So cute! He was a large adult Pem male, and Tegan is still a slightly puppy looking 10 month old Pem female. People kept commenting on how much "those dogs look alike!" Finally somebody said, "Are those the same kind of dog? I thought yours was a wiener dog cross." Hilarious!
