Finnigan is a year and 5 months and while he has had his share of problems and cause to go to the vet, he had never up to this point had anything that could be deemed an emergency... until last night. Finnigan is fine, not good as new yet but should be soon.
So last night I was watching tv and Finn was sleeping at my feet as usual until my husband and I walked out on the balcony leaving Finn inside for only about five minutes. He was moved…

I subscribe to the ASPCA newsletter and this heading caught my eye. I looked at what breeds were in the Puppy Mill and 'lo and behold, they said they found corgis. I'm glad that the ASPCA was finally able to step in and get these animals out. Unfortunately, it looks like they were a little too late for some of the dogs.
Tim Rickey, the ASPCA Senior Director of Field Investigations and Response, says the dogs, which include small breeds such as Shih Tzus,…

I found this on another website that I use and had to copy it!!!
I will not eat the cats' food, before or after they eat it.
I will not burn rubber through the open car window and into the fast food restaurant, no matter how good it smells.
The computer's mouse is, unlike a real mouse, inedible.
I will stop trying to find the few remaining pieces of carpet in the house when I am about to throw up.
I will not throw up in the car.
I will scootch my…

A neighbor asked me if Corgis are heelers or headers. I have no idea! He said that by watching Nutmeg and Cinnamon play, that Nutty is a heeler, and Cinny is a header. Is it heeler or healer? LOL! When playing, Nutmeg goes for the legs, and Cinny goes for Nutmeg's neck area. I see them both trying to just "mouth" each other. Cinnamon doesn't seem interested in herding Nutmeg, but Nutmeg is all about getting Cinnamon in a certain area. Guess I'll get some answers when we go to the SO FLO meet…

Hi everyone, todat when i was playing with Lobo, i notice he had a red blemish spot in his right ear, does anyone had a similar problem before? That got me a little worried. Is there anything i can do about it?

Rosie,Bella and I are going to visit her new home to see what we think and what they think! Rosie would be the only house dog and they've had a corgi before! The woman and I talked for almost an hour and they live only 20 minutes from my home! It sounds like a perfect situation for her other than they don't have a fence...but then I guess many people don't!…

You guys ROCK! Thanks to the efforts here and the hard work of the Cardi people, we know his pedigree, his breeder knows about it, and she's contacting her attorney in the morning. He WAS sold on a neuter contract and without papers (which is why they were looking to use him to make mixed-breed dogs) so there is hope that she can either get him back or rehome him appropriately.
I am always impressed with the care and commitment of dog people :). Yay for you all!

Brody is only 14 weeks old and I love him!!! Love him. But he bites so hard, he bites the neighbors and has made them bleed, he bites my feet and socks. When I take him for a walk he bites at my pants and pulls on them. I thought this was all normal for corgis at least that is what I've heard, but he hurts me and other, he even growls at me. Ive tried many things and have tried to be consistent but he's getting th reputation of evil dog!! What do I do??

I can't believe my baby is a year old (and thanks to Beni's mom for reminding me or I would have completely forgotten... Beni and Lyla are littermates for those of you that don't know)! She has come so far in the past 9 months I've had her, and I just can't imagine my life without my little LylaBug laying on the couch with me every night.
In other news the new puppy is still getting acclimated. Adding a new dog has just strengthened my belief that Lyla is "Queen Lyla" of the dogs in…

So our puppy is about 11 weeks old now. He is doing great for the most part, and he is really starting to enjoy and depend on his daily walks. We live in a townhouse style neighborhood, and we got a decent amount of snow over the weekend. Buddy loves the snow! We let him off the leash in our backyard, and he went crazy! We got one good walk in on Saturday morning pre-snow, but have not been able to walk him since due to the ice melt/salt all over the place. We have read that it can be very…

We just made an addition to our family! A sweet little 3 month old Fluffy male we named Joey. We are so happy to have him in our family. And Sadie loves her new little brother! Check out our page if you would like to. We are at Debbie and Sadie Mae. I put a ton of pictures of his first days with us on a slide show.

Clue's puppies are now nine days old!
They are all doing well; with such a large litter I am extra vigilant but so far weights are looking wonderful.
Just in case anybody thinks it might be fun to be a breeder, here's what every day has been like since last Friday (and what I do is not in any way unusual for good breeders - I was "trained" by someone who has done this for 30 years):
- The puppies are never left. They have at least one human next to them 24 hours…

We are having so much fun and staying very busy with these new pups! We lost a beautiful male tri on Fri. I think Livvy stepped or laid on him...bless him poor baby!
These guys are changing daily and so fun to watch! I am thinking we will now end up with 3 red and 3 tris!!!! Time will tell. They are already switching their cute little tails all over! And talk about agility...these pups contort their bodies every which way to get some of momma's…

I've been wondering for the past few months-- which dose should I give Madoc? He's been on the smaller dose for dogs UP TO 26 pounds. I have a feeling that his weight will always hover around 26 pounds. If your corgi is about 26 to 28 pounds, which dose does your vet recommend and you use? Things on the borderline are troubling! I don't want to use too strong a dose, but naturally I want him protected here in Virginia where mosquitoes can be monsters in the summer. Thanks for any advice!

I just posted a video pf my yard. Nutmeg never destroyed the yard...until Superstar (love you Alondra) came over. Since Cinnamon has come into her own...my yard has taken such a beating! Now, I live in Florida...I am a novice in dealing with the sawgrass....however, my dogs would eat the grass forever. They NEVER puke it...they just dig it up and eat it. A neighbor said that they might be missing something from their food...a nutrient. They both eat Solid Gold all wholistic food. HELP MY YARD!
