Wynstan pooped out the baby just fine. The plastic baby didn't seem to do well through the amazing food race, but I am glad I don't have to worry about it anymore.
I am proud of him, he was in the house alone Thursday night while I was at work for four hours and not one accident. He is also responding to the "come" command very well and almost comes to me every time I saw it. He is still having a hard time with "lay down" and "shake"

Today is the 10th Anniversary of Corgi Aid. That's 10 years of helping corgis (both breeds) and mixes get healthy and find their furever homes. I know that several members of MyCorgi have gotten their furry friends through corgi rescue and perhaps even gotten aid through Corgi Aid. Please stop by Corgi Aid's site today and see all the dogs that have been helped and their stories. And if you have a few extra dollars perhaps make a contribution to helping corgis in the…

We took our boy to the vet last night for his first puppy exam with us (the breeder took him for his first shots at 8wks). And all good reports (for the most part)! He weighed in at a hefty 7.15lbs! I can't wait until we are able to take him out and walk him, he has so much pent up energy! We do our best to excercise him properly around the house and in the yard, but nothing beats going for a long walk. We learned an imense amount of information, and even got to chat with a vet tech that has a…

We were out of town last weekend. Before we left, I could feel some tension in the air between Nikita and Dockers and could not seem to intervene to smooth things over. Usually I can get the two to put aside their differences with our ball playing and evening pack visits in the house. I don't know or understand the exchanges that happen before me between the two. There are just times when Nikita is moody (

Living 3,000 miles (without a car) from the town I grew up in creates some interesting challenges for me and my sweet baby pup. I decided to bite the bullet and book a flight to share my little joy with the rest of my family... and their chihuahuas.
I wanted to take advantage of his age and his size, because the only other time we'll be able to do this is when I get a car and drive cross-country... which won't happen any time soon...
Jackson is only 6.2 lbs right now and…

My mother came home with a King Cake from New Orleans. They are the cakes that have the little baby in it and you have to hope you don't get it.
Well, my father found the baby in his piece and accidentally dropped it. Of course, Wynstan scarfed up that little baby.
Should I take him to the vet or wait to see if it passes?

We have had our puppy for 4 days now, and he still doesn't have a name! We have gone over tons of names and nothing seems to fit, and it is becoming very frustrating to address bad behavior, or even good behavior when he does not have a name. Not to mention I am trying to fill out some paperwork for the vet and our country dog license, but we can't complete anything without a name. Anyone else had this issue before? I have never had a hard time naming a dog before, and its not that we don't…

It's been one of those days BUT has turned out very well! Yea! Rosie is home with us at last. Some of you know I was getting calls from a woman that bought a puppy from me last April but she kept wanting to keep her even though she was frustrated (as I'm sure the dog was too living in an apartment with only very short walks and a child with ADHD). Today she called and ask if I would still "buy" her back and I said yes! So after working 11 hours I drove another 2hours to pick her up and then 3…

Dog Class was a lot of fun...we work on a lot of stuff...walking figure 8's around other dogs, greeting, come, lay down, and then some agility stuff....there were a lot of dogs in class tonight, most of them TIgger was familiar with...there was a new little jack or corgi mix that was very whiny...and came close to Tig and had some NTN and Tigger growled at her. And then another GS that Tig is v.v. familiar with came up and did NTN contact, and Tig growled and curled his lip at him.... we…

My job introduced me to many different breeds of dogs, large, small, old, and young. Some dogs were very territorial and had to be treated respectfully and cautiously. One incident I would like to share with you stays vividly in my memory. While ringing the door bell to an unfamiliar house, holding a NDA letter, around the corner of the house came Fido. Fido was a 75 lb Yellow Lab in a foul mood. While standing motionless at the door, Fido was snarling, slobbering, showing me his recently…

There will be no need to go to court over the incident, because the neighbor is going to jail. I rather not air out other people's dirty laundry, but I am glad this is behind us.
Wynstan has had no accidents in 3 weeks. I am so proud of him. He got play with my brother's German Shepherd today, and they did great as always. I am sure Wynstan thinks he is three times bigger than her.
I actually have some excellent news and things are actually going my way for the first time…

Today the baby Jackson, who I am completely obsessed with at this point, had his 12 week check up. My fantastic vet said he is doing simply amazing.
He had *another* wormer today and his second set of shots (DA2LPP). Our doc said he didn't event cry when he got his shot! What a good pup.
Everything is going so well with him I'm kind of in disbelief. If I spend a lot of the day/night out, I will let him sleep in my bed with me for a little while. I eventually want him to,…

As many of you know, I have decided to get into the world of dog showing, specifically with Australian Shepherds. After much searching and a few discouraging conversations I feel upon a breeder that I just absolutely loved. We talked about a puppy she had shortly after we connected, but it was just too short notice for me to come up with the kind of money a show prospect costs. I decided to wait for her next litter not knowing how long that might take, but knowing that gave me lots of time to…

I missed posting this yesterday, but it was Shippo's birthday and he's now 4 years old! He's already murdered his new toy, and is enjoying the chew treats he got. I will have to get some new pictures of him. Here's to another good year ahead with Shippo! =3

Hey everyone! Today is Grover's birthday! He is an awesome two years old! (As a side note, his yucky eye is SO much better today, just in time for birthday fun!) We didn't do a whole lot. He got a new toy and his friend, Pablo the Pit Bull came to visit for the night. My best friend is Pablo's Mom and Grover and Pablo play together like two peas in a rotten pod! They are great together! Pablo isn't a year old yet, so he's still a pup and he totally wears Grove out! Grover got some special…

Livvy is still "hanging" in there but preferring more time away from the other 4 legged household members maybe it's due to her being almost as wide as she is long! I don't know what to expect as this will be her 1st litter...but we are ready and waiting!

After kids went to bed, we took Zena to my office on the second floor. We decided to use pee pee pads for first a couple of days so I placed the pee pee pad right next to her crate. Surprisingly, she went in and out of her new crate. Well she did not stay long but I was happy to see her going in on her own. I thought about using a travel crate from my breeder but I got the another small one. I started to be concerned that she has not peed until the midnight. My wife sent to bed. She was willing…
