Well we are getting an 8 month old male PWC in a few weeks. His name is Jake but we are thinking about changing the name. Just wonder what some of you have named your corgis and if you have any ideas for us?

Griffen has continued to be AMAZING. He has only had a few accidents in the house; which are SUPER easy to clean up due to tile floors. Oakley has taken to him quite well. There are a couple dogs in the neighborhood who bark pretty furociously at Oakley and Griffen. Oakley's normal reaction would be to fluff up, let out a few low growls and move on. But now she has Griffen to protect. Now whenever we pass them Oakley fluffs up and barks back. I've NEVER heard Oakley bark like this. Then when we…

While I cant tell you for sure if it's the food, the broth, or the de-tapeworming. What I can tell you is that right now in Cheez-burger land, Chicken-broth infused Blue Buffalo is a hot commodity. Which is a very big relief on my part, and it's great to see him eat a little more now. He was de-tapewormed on Saturday and I mixed him BlueBuff and his usual Eukenuba (1:3 ratio) for lunch and he ate the Blue Buffalo leaving all the Eukenuba in the bown still. For dinner I gave him the same rations…

My two girls have made it though all there vet visits and shot. Both are happy not having to go for awhile. Arty had her first Heart Worm test and she came out with flying colors. Nasty stuff that is and i sure don't want my girls to come down with them. We are going to get Annie fixed next month although she doesn't know it yet and I don't think I will tell her either. Annie is a little hethen but we love her to death. She keeps us hoping and for us old folks we need it. She is such a love too…

So you have decided to purchase a pup and find the corgi to be irresistable. There are many posts on this site to direct you to responsible breeders. What I think may also be helpful here is to learn what planning needs to be done and what to expect. It is evident that many have been surprised, some frustrated and have been seeking assistance via this list. So here you go.....the puppy primer....things to consider before getting that pup.
First thing I would consider is finding a…

As you may know, little Cheez-it had a case of worms two days ago. It was a bit of a shock at first, but then it occured to me that well, dogs get worms. So I considered getting an over the counter de-wormer, seeked advice on these forums (which was a great help, thanks everyone). I decided to wait it out and have the vet take care of the issue. After a few minutes (and some shots with pill-laced tuna) I placed him on the examination table and a worm appeared below him. I thought that was sort…

Well, as of tomorrow morning we will have survived Blaze's first week with us!! I am exhausted!!
We never let him out of our sight. The one time I let him out of my sight for more than 30 seconds, he managed to destroy a section of berber carpet next to my bed. It was the section where the seam is... he found a "hook"-- pulled.. and zipped up an entire row and half. *sigh* You just have to laugh...
He has a quirk already! Actually, he
HAD a quirk. He's sorta…

Yesterday was a busy day getting things ready for our puppy. Still 1-2 weeks to go, but we are thinking ahead. I cleaned out garage this past weekend and hubby brought home the ex pen. I picked up two crates from a friend – THANK HEAVENS for good friends!
One crate is a super nice 36 inch black wire crate that has a divider panel and two doors that will go in the garage Puppy Palace. The door will be fastened open so it won't scare her or trap her. I got hubby involved in figuring…

Thor is now able to walk on all of his legs while remaining stable. The breeder, and me while I'm visiting, have already started to teach him to go outside to do his business, and seems to be going well. He learns really fast right now, he took to chewing on a rubber bone I bought quickly and no longer chews on fingers.

Linda Mae was my Corgi (Mandy's) sister. They turned one year old on Sunday May 4th. Many of you dropped by to wish Mandy a Happy Birthday. They celebrated their birthday's together and had a great time having snacks and eating doggie ice-cream. We also would watch Linda Mae when my husband's parents would go out of town. Linda Mae belonged to them. I have several pictures of her here at Mandy's page from Linda's visits. Linda Mae is the red Corgi and Mandy is the tri-color.
Yesterday, my…

So far we're on Week Three of PetSmart training - so far so good. Roscoe has sit down pat (when he wants to, that is) and has responded really well to "Leave it" and "Drop It." We're having serious issues with down, which the trainer said that pups with shorter legs sometimes do. He won't go down, he just raises up his back end or stands up. I've managed to get him under my legs with the Under the Bridge trick, but I'm not sure how far that will go in showing him what down means. Any…

The pups are 6 weeks now and really lovely! We saw them today after 14 days and I have to say, they grow like crazy. I have to decide between two boys, they are both very active, one seems a bit calmer, but the other one is just sweet and was following our feet and everything - you know. I CAN'T decide! The breeder offered me to take the pup next week, but I think I'll wait until he's 8 weeks old. That's two weeks to decide. I'm completely lost...

After a six and a half hour drive through torrential rain and flooding (eek), I arrived in Texas to find eleven very beautiful puppies (there are two litters)! The mothers and father were both on site and were they too were very stunning. I was able to narrow down the field to five puppies because I wanted a male. There were two tri's, a fluffy, and two red/whites. It came down to the two red and whites, but after that the decision was impossibly difficult. One was a little more rambunctious…

At the least time expected I came down with a dramatic case of "the work". You know the symptoms, pretend-coughing, lack of initiative, that bland Mon-Fri look in the face. I unknowingly answered a ringing phone (what else do you do with one) before checking the Caller-ID. I knew my mistake before even finishing "hello". There was some emergengy, so-and-so wouldnt be able to come in in time and things needed to be done! Somehow, unfortunately my name was at the top of a memo entitled…

Hi all,
I just finished reading a post that talked a little bit about limping in corgis, but my situation is a little bit different, so I thought I'd post it as well.
Buckley is a very happy and active 2 year old corgi. We started noticing that after he'd been resting for awhile, or first thing in the morning when we get up, that he would be limping on his hind left leg. Because he is so active, we thought that maybe he'd pulled a muscle, but it didn't really make sense…
