Ruby has survived the implied "parvo" infection and lived to thrive another day. For hevvinsake.
Here she is engaged in a great mock "fight" with Charley the Golden Retriever. The fact that he's at least five times bigger than she…Continue
So Ruby and I attended the Midwest Corgi Picnic. It was fantastic! We had a great time. Ruby competed in the fun match and I was so proud of her. She had some issues with the table but other than that she was great! I think we may do some more fun matches in the future.
We also went to Pet Pride with a good friend and we had a great time. Ruby even go a spray on tattoo of an anchor. Petsmart was doing them and it was free so why not! We got a ton of free stuff and I bought Ruby a…Continue

Today, my baby boy…Continue
Watson is now 5 months old. He has been so much fun! He is smart, silly, loving and at times wild. He loves Izzy and they play often. It is great to see her having so much fun. He passed Puppy Class with flying colors but we are still working on stopping him from barking at other dogs and overly enthusiastically greeting people. I think he is still a little frightened of strange dogs and after he matures may be better at that. We are getting ready for a month long trip with our RV so I think…Continue
I'd like to think I'm not a stupid guy, but I did have some sense of denial even though I knew the truth of it.
While Ein's surgery was successful, it seems the tumor has grown back.
Last Tuesday I noticed a "hollow" noise as Ein would breath through his nose and by Friday, it was sounding more congested. We took him to the vet and they gave us Clavamox hoping it was just an infection since he's on prednisone.
This morning, he is getting almost…Continue
So yesterday afternoon I took Ruby to a vet in town who keeps 7-day-a-week hours -- not an "emergency" vet of the sort who charges $200 for you to walk in the door, but a regular veterinary practice. They have a bunch of vets and operate a kind of veterinary factory, but they at least are vets.
She still had diarrhea, and yesterday (Sunday, naturally) she barfed up all the food I gave her. The food was bland diet: chicken and rice.
After we waited…Continue
So this is a first. My dog bit me. Everything was calm on my end, and everything seemed calm on his end.
I was trying to put him outside for when my fiance came home so my fiance could come in and take off him shoes and stuff and not be jumped on (we are working on down right now and I wasn't particularly feeling well enough to do the training, my back still hurts, and I am passing a 7+mm kidney stone). I called him to come to the back door, he didn't move so I moved a little closer…Continue
So I was using Reddit.com and posting under their subreddit /r/dogtraining, but I noticed that people on reddit, in the year and a half that I have been using it are growing twice as uppity about dogs and dog training like they know everything.
My recent run in was with my troubles I've been having keeping McCoy from bothering the cats. They kept accusing me of not spending enough time with him, not playing with him or exercising him enough. That corgis are so high energy that you…Continue
Ein continues to do well, except for his poopoo butt for the last day.
He thinks he's starving because of the prednisone, so as to not starve to death, he ate the cat food.... thus the runs.
We will be going to the corgi walk tomorrow (Saturday) at Green Lake, so if any of you are there. Look for us! I will be wearing my Thorgi shirt. :p
What next, Lord?
My son's 90-pound dog, Charley the Golden Retriever, is passing a week at my house while Son vacations in Puget Sound. This is fine, by and large, because Pup and Charley play like puppies (they are puppies...Charley at two is still an addledescent), and Cassie I'm sure is relieved to have Charley here to distract Ruby from her usual pestering activities.
Last night Ruby, who has graduated to sleeping on the bed with Cassie, woke up at 3:30 in…Continue

Although this is not about Corgis, it's something I want to share with everyone.
The reason I was able to walk Wally during the time the city was closed shows the amount of trust we have towards our brothers and sisters who everyday put their lives on the line to make the cities the way we know them. They have families of their own and even though the ultimate sacrifice is something possible, it's a event no one hopes for.
Although, in some of us, it is something they dwell…Continue
So now several days -- a whole bunch of days -- have passed without ANY puddles on the floor! It's a miracle.
Presumably Ruby's UTI has cleared up pretty much. She's still on the prescription diet, so not getting (IMHO) the nutrition one would like, but I think when we finish the current crateful of cans, we'll probably transition over to real food. Still adding 1/4 cup of water to each of her three meals a day, which may also be helping. And I expect I'll keep on…Continue

Today, I was faced with a very tough decision. I know I did the right thing, but it was one of the most difficult choice I've ever had to make. I had to take Kyoko to the vet to have her put down. This morning she was sick, and didn't respond to my calling. When she finally got up, she stumbled along and was breathing heavy. I sat with her for a while, watching her continue to hold her head up, as her eyes grew heavy. I knew I couldn't let her stay this way. I knew what I had to do, no…Continue
It's been a long time since I've been on here. So much has happened in my life since I first added this account. Isshi was recently spayed. The procedure went well, aside from the anesthetic not agreeing with her. Basically, she didn't waking up as soon as they expected her to. Then when she finally came to, she wasn't responding as she should. I had a sleepless night worried about her. But late the next day, I was able to take her home without any further problems. Other then she now has to…Continue
So Ruby and I are hitting up the Midwest Corgi Picnic and Ruby is going to compete! We're also going out with a hiking group on Sunday, Pet Pride on Monday, and then dog scouts the following week. I need to be more social and having Ruby is allowing me to do that. Also, its good for her socialization.
Is anybody else here going to any of these events in Indy? If so, don't be afraid to say hi!

What types of toys, brushes, crate ect., do you recomend for corgis?
So we finally got to go to the beach again, one of Ziggy and I's favorite spots! We had a great day and I got a lot of awesome pictures of the Zigster! It still amazes me that he gets so spunky when he's on the sand!…Continue
